Too expensive for the quality of the item you get

Not to sound like a cheapskate, but when I spend as much as I did on a product like this one (I realize that for many people the price of this necklace won't seem like a lot, but it is kinda pricey for costume jewelry), I do expect it to be at least reasonably well made. This necklace broke the first time I put it on and the way it broke, I have trouble believing it isn't going to happen to other people who buy this necklace.

If you look at the picture, you will see there is a point where the chain connects to the large metal pendant portion of the necklace. The pendant part itself is of very heavy, solid metal. The chain is fairly delicate for such a heavy piece, and unfortunately, it is glued inside the pendant on either side rather than being attached by loops or some other mechanism that would hold it together securely. Hopefully that makes sense as a word picture! At any rate, when I put the necklace on, it fell into my neckline, so my first thought was that I didn't get it clasped. Nope--what had happened was the chain came unglued from the pendant on one side.

The worst part about it was, I bought the item to use for a photo shoot, so I was left in the lurch at the 11th hour running out to get something before meeting the photographer. Stress!!!!!

Anyway, as heavy as this necklace is, the chain really should be secured in a better way. Luckily Amazon is, as always, great about returns, so I got my money back quickly, but I can't recommend the item because of this experience and because of what I believe is a critical design flaw that threatens the life span of the item itself.

I was so looking forward to receiving this item but was so disappointed at the quality.

There are 2 hinges which link the beautiful design to the chain. It became impossible to get them to lay flat. In fact I was terrified that if I kept on attempting to twist them back into place they might break.

The clasp is vey flimsy and if you want to wear this as a choker- forget about it. There is a chain that allows so many inches before attaching to the clasp and a choker is not an option unless you have a neck like Mike Tyson.

It really is absolutely a stunning piece. I just wish it would've been designed a little better .

I ordered this necklace-earring combo in 2 different colors....pink and purple. I LOVE it. What a classy necklace. Definitely a statement piece, but not in a loud kind of way....just very nice. Looks more expensive that it is. It was a decent price, and looks really gorgeous in person. I am already planning to order some other colors. I really like this, and have received many compliments. Definitely just costume jewelry, but looks very nice. Looks more expensive than it is. Love it. Received very quickly from Seller, and it was very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition.

The color on the piece is beautiful, to say the least. Its rich tones go well with a number of colors and styles of clothing, and I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't need an extender to wear it - the adjustable chain is long enough for it to be loose, even on my 18" neck. The craftsmanship is quite good, though the 'leaves' look more like feathers to my eye.

The only thing I wasn't really expecting was that the earrings would be so heavy - they're not obnoxiously so, but it was more than expected. I have pretty sensitive ears, so I was worried about them becoming painful, but I could wear them for a full 9 hour shift at work with no real issue.

I saw this posted on Pintrest and loved it. Then I saw it was offered by Amazon, and much to my delight, it was also VERY affordable.

The chain is adjustable which is such a nice feature as it accommodates different necklines. The quality seems very good, too.

I am tall so the size is perfect for me. On a shorter, smaller person it might overwhelm.

Overall, I am thrilled with this necklace and earrings.

Talk about your "statement" necklace! This is absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to wear it with this black velvet tank dress that I have. I knocked it down one star simply because I don't care for the sort of clanky sound the piece makes when it moves. But its a beautiful piece and I am sure I am going to get compliments on it. Might have to get it in another color too!

This necklace is very unique. It comes in various colors, which give it a different affect. I chose the green as I wanted it to look more like real leaves. I loved the gold one too. I got a few compliments the first time I wore it...just as other people had said in their reviews. I am very happy with this purchase.

I was immediately drawn to this set on Amazon. I don't typically wear yellow gold but have a 50th Anniversary party to throw and wanted something Autumnal looking. These pieces are gorgeous! I have worn just the earrings and received many compliments already! I can't wait to show off the set at the party! I will say the "gold tone" is very subtle (which I really appreciate).

I had these shipped directly to my mom for her birthday. She loved them. They were just her style. She has very sensitive ears and always needs to wear special earrings, but she was able to wear these earrings. She got lots of compliments on them when she wore them to my sister's wedding. The looked very beautiful on her. I was very happy with this purchase.
