Absolute hands down best pool cleaner made. Wow
by Amazon Is my other ride (5 out of 5 stars)
March 27, 2015

A lot to review here, please like this review if u read it, as I am working hard on this one and appreciate it! Shipping was fast, for the unit in and it looked difficult to put together. So I did it that night and it wasn't bad at all. 8 screws on the caddy, take the plastic off the unit and your ready to go.

The filters are a little hard to figure out which ones to use as they give u 4 fine particulae ones and 4 regular ones. I found using one filter with 2 fines and the other with 2 regulars works best.

The machine itself is very simple to get running, u have basically 3 buttons. Setting one is once a day for a week, button two is every other day for a week and button 3 is every 3rd day or something like that. I think everyone will probably use setting one, once a day, for a week. Then u have to manually press the select one again to get it to start another week. But this is worlds different than every other cleaner as u have to manually be there to start it each time, this one can do it's own thing for a week without u being near! The greatest feature of it!

It does climb my liner pool all the way up the water line, as this is the true first cleaner that does that. Most others made it about 1/2 up the walls.

This has a computer that makes it not go over the same place and actually clean your entire pool not just hit and miss like most others! I can't say good enough about this sweeper, I rarely put it on the caddy, only when we swim really and on/off the caddy is super quick!

A pool sweeper like this is a lot of money, but it is very well worth it in the end! Mine has the entire neighborhood drooling!

I used to work at a pool store and..
by Ashley Kozlowsky (5 out of 5 stars)

I used to work at a pool store so believe me when I say that Dolphin is a great brand! That being said...

Price: Much better than if you go to a pool store!

Shipping: Arrived when expected, and in a reasonable amount of time for a package that size!

Assembly: Super easy! It's generally fairly self explanatory, everything fits where it should, but it came with instructions that were detailed and made things simple.

Quality: This thing is a BEAST! Cleared out pool up so much faster than our old robot used to. Extremely effective! You can see in one of the photos/video (from the day we put it in) how cloudy the pool was, and in the photo I took today, you can see how clear it is now!

Troubleshooting: I went out to see how the pool was doing today, and the robot wasn't working. I took him out of the pool, unscrewed the top vent and found the problem. I cleared out the leaves and whatever else from the propeller, and screwed the top back on. I then flipped it over, took out the cartridge/ filter. There was a stick stuck in it (like I said, this thing is a beast.) and there was other gunk stuck in there. I took the hose, cleaned off the inside of the robot, took the cartridges off the filter and hosed them down until they were clean. Put it all back together, good as new, and it was back to cleaning again!
(Realistically, it would've worked after just cleaning the propeller, but it was expensive, and worth the extra time and cleaning)

Basically,

Pros: great quality, worth the money, works really well if you take care of it!

Cons: have yet to find one, but I will update this review if that changes.

Tips: spend the little bit extra for the 2 year warranty. It'll be worth it in the long run if anything happens. Also, when taking it apart to clean it, be gentle and treat it with care. I've seen many people complain about the quality but in all actuality they had been far too rough with it. This thing may be expensive but it is not indestructible.

If it can clean my pool it can clean yours!
by Shaun Strickland (5 out of 5 stars)

- Pool Specs -
17,500 gallons
16'x35' Vinyl Double Roman
8 foot deep end with some nice curves.

I have had this vacuum for all of a week now. And while at first I had my reservations and concerns... They are all gone now...

Let me say if this thing can clean my pool it can clean your pool. In the beginning as I said the first couple times it cleaned the pool it was REALLY random and strange. Now it has worked out what it is doing and how it does it. It clearly needs to "learn" and it might take it some time learn your pool if yours is as complicated as mine is.
- Raised Main Drain - Dolphin Triton goes over just fine without getting stuck. If it does Mayotronics does have a fix for this, however, I am not going into that as I do not have this problem.
- Stairs - This thing will climb your stairs no problem! Mine are in the "half moon" and it climbs and even can nearly "flip." the vacuum self corrects and keeps on going.
- Water line - It may not seem like it at times, but after watching it... The vacuum does not have a problem climbing walls that are at a 90 degree climb or even at an odd degree.
- Large Leaves - I did vacuum out all the larger objects out before placing this in the pool. I have seen it pick up leaves and other objects, but not in a severely dirty pool.
- Vacuum comes with TWO types of filters. One for every day purpose (comes inside already installed ready to go..) The other for Algae and smaller microbes (The white filters...)
- Vacuum bags you can buy separately. These are around $20-$35 a bag (you can clean these...) There is also a conversion kit that changes out with the tray for easier cleanup but adds another $130. I haven't used the bag yet but plan on it once I get into lots of trash!
- Remote - I haven't gotten the remote but from reading about it I can definitely say I want it. While the vacuum does a great job and I would not tell it what to do... There are times where I would love to just say hey go here! Be and be done. Which the remote says it can do this.

Pros - Cleans my pool very well. Climbs walls, Stairs, able to go right over main drain, does the job very efficiently with minimal spots missed.

Self corrects, and does not get stuck often or even for long. Once it learns your pool it seems to get even better about not getting stuck on areas.

Cons - Takes a while for it to learn your pool. It had taken 3-4 times before it really got used to my pool. With that there is a few small areas that do get missed at the ending of a cleaning. Which to be honest I am completely ok with. I plan on getting the remote soon so I can point it to these locations. Otherwise even still getting out the other vacuum to spot clean is not a big deal when it comes to cleaning only "parts" of the pool.

General note - I am still researching this cleaner as there seems to be a great deal of "lack" of information. It does do a constant detecting and learning as the videos say, but to what extent and what exactly it does and remembers is something I would like to fully understand.

Additionally I did not get a manual that showed how to change out the filters and clean. This is simple process you flip the cleaner over and flip the two locks and pull out. It should have 4 filters that lock into place and can be cleaned by hose pipe.

DO NOT PASS UP THIS CLEANER!

!!WARNING!! - 20% Return Restocking Fee and Shipping $150 ($184 loss)
by Shaun Don (1 out of 5 stars)
October 7, 2017

!!WARNING!! - 20% Return Restocking Fee and Shipping $184 loss! When we received this item we realized that it was way to big for our pool. We opened the box but didn't remove anything. We printed out the shipping label and expected the cost to be somewhere around $50. No problem. However, we got a $584 refund on a $730 product. We would have kept the product and sold it ourselves and would have made more money that $584. Ridiculous.

Only make this purchase is you are more that 100% positive this product is for you. I am sure the product works amazing, which is why we made the purchase. I've never experienced a restocking fee. Try to find the restocking fee information page. It's not an easy find and definitely no stated obviously.

Don't buy from this company
by Shannon (1 out of 5 stars)

The cleaner itself works pretty good. The company on the other hand has ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE customer service! We used our cleaner about 5 or 6 times, following every direction, and the power supply already went bad. My husband was on hold for 30 minutes or longer, finally spoke with someone who helped him with diagnostics, and came to the conclusion it is the power supply that went bad. Directed him to call a dealer in the area to help with getting it fixed, called the dealer, and the dealer says, "We can't help you because it's an online item"! Called the company again, they aren't even taking calls, the message says to try again later??? I am so furious, this is not a cheap product, $800, and we used it 5-6 times, we have been without it for at least a month or longer because we have no idea how to get it replaced, or repaired. We went with the well known company, as you can see, we are getting NOWHERE!

Almost 5 Stars But...One Thing
by Jennifer Tyler (4 out of 5 stars)
July 4, 2018

I bought this on a friend's recommendation to replace the useless awful [most expensive, name brand, newest model] pressure cleaner that was included in my $80k 24x38 9 1/2' deep inground gunite pool, after my friend got sick of hearing me complain about that horrible pressure cleaner and me being late for our bowling league all the time because I was cleaning Jeff (we named the Polaris "Jeff" because we're weird and we name everything).

Anybody who has a pressure cleaner knows what a @$&* that thing is. You gotta turn off the pump, unscrew the quick disconnect (quick my ***!!), pull it out with water still spewing everywhere, hose the tail and probably replace the foam AGAIN because it's full of salt or DE or tiny tulip poplar seeds, take the bag over to the hose and unzip it only to discover YET AGAIN that all the nastiness is in the zipper and the bottom part...this is gonna take HOURS...ugh...anyway, yeah, you have one, you get me. Those things are HORRIBLE. But I'm...frugal. I refused to replace a perfectly fine "free" pool cleaner (my mother says, "nothing is free, if you asked them to give it to you they wouldn't, you got it because you paid for the pool so it's not free, it's included") just because it's a total and complete PITA and is ruining my entire pool experience at least thrice daily. It works. It's fine. Not gonna buy something better. Nope.

That is, until I unzipped the bag and an enormous wolf spider flung itself out of the bag ONTO MY FACE.

Now, I am not irrationally afraid of spiders, or snakes, wasps, or any critters. But when a 5" mutant wolf spider--clearly mutant because it survived submerged in the Polaris bag for hours--leaps onto your face like an Alien hatchling, you prioritize real quick. Jeff's gotta GO. Bye, Jeff.

Forking over that much money for something on paper I did not need was a little rough, seriously, I am the most frugal person you will ever meet, but THIS THING IS WORTH TWICE THE PRICE. One million times better than Jeff. We named her Rosie, not only because we are weird thing-namers (don't judge) but because she does kinda look like an inverted Jetsons maid, and she works twice as hard as a man, does the job in half the time, ten times as well.

The filter and cells are SO EASY to clean and catch everything Jeff didn't, and all the things that clogged Jeff up (DE, hair) rinse right off. It's impossible to put the filter back together or back in wrong...GENIUS!! No programming, no vents to adjust, just drop it in and push the button. Wonderful. Amazing. Saves me literally hours every day, and I mean disgusting nasty wolf spider cleaning hours that now I spend IN my pool instead of next to it, with a hose, spraying nastiness out of a mesh bag.

I would give 4.75 stars but I have two issues, one small, one big: trying to wind the cord on the carry cart OMG TRIGGER ALERT! It wants to pop off and unwind itself smacking me in the face GAAH drives me insane, but as you probably already realized, I am, uh, a little OCD, so I have to wind it on the cart so that when I go to unwind it and put Rosie in the pool, the stupid cord won't have knots in it. So maybe it's just me, I've tried winding it the opposite way, doesn't work, no matter, I'm probably the only person on the planet who does that. But the one thing that keeps it from 5 Stars is this: when you take it out, no matter what, a bunch of crap will fall out of the two holes back into your perfectly cleaned pool. If there were any way to keep ALL the crap IN THE FILTERS as it voids water when you remove it, well, this would be a five star review. In reality, if I were not super OCD it would be five, but...I am. And it does drop crap back in. So, reluctantly, 4 Stars, because there's no 4.75.

and ordered the triton plus and I am quite pleased with the upgrades
by Professor H (4 out of 5 stars)
June 22, 2016

This review is for the Dolphin Triton.

I found that the robots from Dolphin are the only ones to consistently climb pool walls to clean.

This model performs well, but has smaller filter capacity than the Triton Plus.

My triton unit was missing a part so I returned it, and ordered the triton plus and I am quite pleased with the upgrades.

If you don't have as many leaves as I do, the regular triton will work perfectly for you.

I have tested all aqua bots in turbo series, and Dolphins are considerably better performers.

This triton will accept the larger bag attachment, while the triton plus with top load filters will not.

I found the bottom load to be a pain.

Can a pool robot be fun??
by T140-Frank (5 out of 5 stars)
May 17, 2016

Can a pool robot be fun? Well I'll tell you what is fun; not having to spend hours every week scrubbing my pool walls, this little guy does it for me now. I purchased this automatic cleaner to replace my Polaris 9300 sport and booster pump I purchased new 2 years ago for around 1,100.00 give or take a few dollars, in the past two years I've already replaced the gearbox on the Polaris because of a broken gear. (Polaris does not just sell one gear, you have to buy the entire gearbox for about 200 dollars). This Spring the booster pump started acting up so I decided to try something new. I've been running this little guy twice a day because my pool is getting mulch in it because of my16 year old Pitt Bull is always trying to dig a nest in my garden for some unknown reason, and once he's done digging for the day he sleeps on the top step of the pool, resulting in dirt and mulch in the pool. So far this robot has done an excellent job in picking up the dirt and in scrubbing the algae off of the sides of the pool. The bottom of my pool is so clean its uncanny, this thing picks up D.E, dust, dead algae and everything in-between. The robot also cleans the tile at the waterline and does a good job, I have not had to pick up my pool brush in weeks. I used to spend 30 minutes a day scrubbing my pool do to it being in direct sunlight all day long, not to mention my neighbor has huge trees and leaves fly into my pool all day long. In conclusion this robot is worth its weight in gold in my opinion, I now get to spend more time in my pool with my daughter without bouncing around spot cleaning algae anymore. I've talked so highly of this product over the last couple of weeks one of my friends just ordered one and so far he loves his too.

by Philip John (5 out of 5 stars)

This is an amazing product. When I first put it into the water, it did not seem to be moving anywhere - thought you could see the water swirling out of the top. Pulled it out of the pool and saw that the roller belt was off track. Easy fix and it worked like a champ. It came with two filters - the fine filter works best instead of the mesh filter. The filter is also so easy to clean using a gentle spray from a hose. It can get a bit heavy when taking out of the pool - but if you are on your knees and using both hands, its not so difficult. Take it out gently so that the water falls out of the unit gently - this prevents the debris from falling back out into the pool and flip it over at the edge of the pool. for all the water to drain. Easy to remove and clean filters once it is flipped over.

On advise from a friend, I manually brush the steps and other hand to reach areas when I put the robot into the pool. It is a bit mesmerizing to see the robot in action - I did not find the need for a robot or the caddy. It came with the caddy. I actually use the base of the caddy to store the robot on - keeps the rollers in "air" and its not compressing them when in storage. I store mine inside a deck storage box, but I keep the power box inside the house.

Awesome buy from Amazon Warehouse deals. My pool looks sparking clean.

HAPPY 3rd B-Day "Wall-E" & I Hope for Many More!
by Jen C (5 out of 5 stars)
September 4, 2018

Amazing Pool Robot, we call him little "Wall-E".

Today, I Encountered a disaster after a big storm came through last night. Here in South Florida we have many storms and little Wall-E has been industrious and efficient helping clean up our pool after each storm. What was different about today? Sand, we had a lot of sand in the pool, something I have never encountered before. Now we have tackled storm debris, dirt, leaves, etc... no problem, but sand? I was not sure what filter I should use to tackle sand,(the corrugated paper type filter) so I searched my past orders to review the recommendations. To my surprise, I realized it had been 3 years to the date that Wall-E arrived ready to rule the pool!! I dropped him in the water today, nervously watching him for any difficulties and the first thing he did was go to the dirtiest part of the pool. The photos are above. When Wall-E hit the underwater sand dunes, he stirred up some of the sand which made the water cloudy and obscured him from camera view. My pool professional came by today to add some chemicals to the water, and to also inform me that he shut the pool pump off due to all the sand in the pool. While pouring in copious amounts of chemicals, He told me he was unable to clean out all the sand with his vacuum, as it could only manage debris like leaves, I needed to figure out how to get all the sand out of my pool. I was floored. I'm thinking, my Pool pump is off, yet I need to circulate the chemicals before I can use the pool, despite the fact that I now have an underwater desert.

While I had originally purchased this little robot to clean the pool between the weekly visits from the pool professionals, we have discovered that there were many times one pool professional thought his colleague already stopped by our home as our pool was crystal clear thanks to our saltwater chlorinator, the ozone UV germ killer and Wall-E. We started a maintenance log to track visits. I realized how amazing Wall-E was as a few times I forgot to take him out when he finished and he did not leech out any of his contained debris. The children I teach all fell in love with Wall-E, and as these children have

special healthcare needs, mostly Autism, they are sound sensitive and fear loud noises. Wall-E is virtually silent. He propels himself through the water and only makes a slight slurping sound when cleaning the pool tiles out of the water. I worked with a vulnerable patient population, which mandated my pool be impeccably clean and Wall-E did all that and more.

So today? I decided after seeing what my friend can still do after all these years, I decided to write my first review ever.

So today, my dilemma: sand dunes, storm debris, newly added Chemicals, no pump to circulate them and need the pool clean. My solution: Never fear- Wall-E is here: My Robot has yet to fail me- I placed him in the pool and with anxiety I nervously watched, not wanting to clog him up and ruin our family Robot. He performs like a champ. The photos above were taken today. Not only does this little Robot work out his own unique path to clean the pool. He cleans my steps, a bench, and climbs the walls. In the beginning we struggled with wall climbing, until we adjusted the handle which helped level and balance him so he maintained buoyancy and could climb the wall with ease. Over the years I will share that we stored him in a Rubbermaid shed out of direct sunlight outside. After every use I would rinse him well, and then every 2-3 months I would open him up and really rinse out the parts to decrease salt debris and prevent corrosion. We did replace a set of filters, about a year and a 1/2 ago as we had 3 major storms, but honestly, I have yet to find something this little robot can't handle. This investment was one of the best I have ever made and I hope our little Wall-E will continue to bring Joy and cleanliness to our pool and family!
