Office Disco Surprise
by mountcomp (5 out of 5 stars)

I was shocked and amazed at how well this performed! We used it along with a motion sensor activated power strip to prank a co-worker when he returned from vacation by turning his office into a personal disco whenever he opened his office door.

and I decided to investigate the problem since it's a pretty simple little electronic

Quality Control straight from the people's republic of China! Mine arrived DOA, and I decided to investigate the problem since it's a pretty simple little electronic. Low and behold there are THREE WIRES of 6 total that are not soldered on!!!! 3 loose wires inside this thing! One was to the neutral of the power supply; one was the neutral to the circuit board and the other was to the actual LED's. There can't be any sort of quality control to have 3 of 6 connections not be soldered on. Better luck next time.

When they work they are GREAT!
by AmLowLife (3 out of 5 stars)

I got one, it worked great: 5 stars. Decided to get another one and it didn't work. Returned it--thanks Amazon and Prime--and the third one didn't work. Returned it and am awaiting the 4th one. Hopefully, that one will work and I'll be a happy camper. I'll let you know.
(Note: Amazon asked me what I did to test 'em and, well, I screwed it in and turned on the switch. Nothing. I even screwed it into the lamp where the one that worked was screwed into. No go. Not sure how to test it any further to be sure. )

Bottom line: If you get one that works they are pretty cool. Great for our home bar. If not, someone is losing money as the shipping costs more than the product.

UPDATE: I ordered a total of 5 of these and 2 of them worked. If the first one hadn't worked--and been so darn cool--I probably wouldn't have tried again. Anyway, I bumped the number of stars from 2 to 3 because of the great responses these get when turned on. Even cynical teenagers are impressed.

Give them a try, but order and extra one just in case!

These are OK. Bought a total of 4. Paid more for the first two to get the prime shipping as I wanted them for Christmas. One worked fine, the other would just stop turning for some reason, at random times, ever since I screwed it in. Sometimes you could give it a push and get it going for another 5 minutes, hour or all night. Totally random! They survived the whole Christmas season in our porch light fixtures.

I ordered 2 more with the super slow shipping, which took a month or more. They arrived in a pouch with crushed boxes inside, but still work. I plan to use them in my floodlight holder for parties. They are not outdoor rated, but here in the desert, they will be fine.

The lights inside stay put and that clear prismatic dome rotates with the silver shaft to make the spinning light effects. Some show more blue and red, others more green and red. For the money, they are good for occasional party use and if you don't need them right away, they are really inexpensive.

Fun for people AND pets!

How can something so cheap work so well? It's crazy. I use this in a clip on desk lamp that has a moveable head. I can clip it to my desk, a shelf, my chair, or a door edge and get different effects. Shine it on the ceiling from the ground and get a huge effect. Point it at something from close up, (like 1-4ft) and get a concentrated array of shapes. I've pointed it at walls, the ceiling, my bed, mirrors, and on the ground for my cats, who love watching the shapes. Sometimes I clip it behind me and point it at the wall behind me from a few inches away, and I can't see the shapes, but it illuminates the rest of the room to give a wavy effect without shapes. It gives off a purple-ish circulating aura to the room if you want to use the light for reading or relaxing without having to see the shapes.

The reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because you can't adjust the spinning speed. Sometimes it is a little dizzying if you just want to relax and watch the shapes move, but it moves too fast for that. I've slowed it a little by gripping the clear part lightly with my hand, and it gives the perfect effect, but it would get really boring and painful to do that manually for an extended time. If the speed was adjustable, this would be a perfect product. But if you are using it for parties, don't worry about it, the default speed is perfect for that! These are so cheap I'm considering buying 2 more so I can put all 3 into my ceiling light that has 3 pockets. This product is a no-brainer, I really recommend it for anyone for personal, party, or animal-entertainment use.

When You're Hot You're Hot, When You're Not . . . Well, You're Not
by AmericanCitizen (3 out of 5 stars)

I ordered two bulbs; they arrived today. One worked great when I put it in the lamp, the other one did not work at all (not even the light came on). Amazon refunded my money on the broken bulb, and upgraded my shipping speed (at no extra cost) for the new order I placed. I need the bulbs for a square dance (with Night Lights theme) Thursday night. Today is Sunday. My new order will arrive Tuesday, and if it is early enough that will give me enough time to make sure the new bulbs (I ordered two more, just in case) work, and resubmit my order if they don't.

I have read the reviews that say the bulbs do not last long, so once I know they are working, I will leave them alone until Thursday night. Once the square dance is over my family will enjoy the bulbs as long as they last. I hope it is quite a while, but if they get through the square dance they will have served their main purpose and anything else is extra. :-)

I gave three stars because the one that worked is great so far, and the lights are beautiful. So that's a 5. The one that didn't was just dead. So that's a 1. The average . . . 3. There is a quite pronounced "working sound", but everyone will be dancing to the caller and music, so no one will hear it. Once we use the bulbs at home a bit of sound won't bother us.

Amazon has the best customer service around. That is why people feel comfortable taking a chance on a product that has mixed reviews, because they know that Amazon backs their products and wants their customers to be happy. This is why so many people are not only repeat customers, but REGULAR customers, because they know they can count on Amazon to support them. And this is why, when customers are looking for a product, they turn to Amazon first.

Great light for even double the price!
by John Panzavecchia (5 out of 5 stars)

These lights are great for the size and the money. I paid just a few bucks for them but they would be a great deal at $10.00 or more. I have several stage/party/disco lights that I use for home parties and events that vary from small cheap colored LEDs to large multi laser light bars. I picked these up as a little add on because for the price, I figured what could I lose. They really exceeded my expectations! I just used them for my Halloween house party. I have a 35' x 25' den with 20' ceilings so it takes a lot of lights to fill the room well. I had 2 small lasers doing wall wash on one side but it was dead on the other side of the room so I put two of these in some table lamps and just removed the shades. They did a great job of adding color and light to that whole side of the room and even illuminated the ceiling above. In a small room even one of these could be a nice way to add a little disco atmosphere. The best part is they are SO SIMPLE! Screw them in a standard light bulb socket and turn on the light. Instant light show as they spin and throw colored light all around. I may get more and swap them with the outside yard flood lights during a big party to add some coolness to the backyard.

Ordered four - three needed the end screws tightened, the fourth is completely dead
by Ross Mendel (3 out of 5 stars)

ORIGINAL: I purchased one of these cool lights made by another company. These looked exactly the same, but were less expensive, so I gave a try and purchased 4 of these. And none of them work right. None of them spin, and one of them doesn't light up either. Only one made a noise, at least proving to me that there's a motor in there, no clue why even it didn't spin.

UPDATED: I gave the lights one more look, to try to figure out why the 3 wouldn't spin (the 4th is completely dead, a lost cause). The spinning "lenses" were very loose, and I realized they simply needed the screws on the end tightened. After screwing them tight with a screwdriver, the 3 that didn't spin now work fine. So 3 that needed minor adjustments, and 1 that doesn't work at all.

The seller asked for a photo of the product not working and photos of the package labels. I've sent the photos and am waiting for a response.

The type of lamp to break up families.
by M. Gariti (1 out of 5 stars)

I hate this bulb for so many reasons. First off, it's H-U-G-E! Think of, like, 4-6 of those old incandescent light bulbs put together. Not even kidding.

Second, you can't change it or anything. It's a static white light with a spinner (that freezes more often than it works) that projects Lucky Charms marshmallow shapes along, supposedly, the walls. The problem there becomes that every light in existance has some sort of shade or directional device over it that blocks it. Sure, you can put it on a lamp with the shade off, but then you have an ugly light somewhere with a ridiculous-looking giant turquoise thing on top.

Third, in order for it to project properly, it must be placed in the exact center of the room. Now, if you have a ceiling fan with a single, downward-facing light socket in the middle of your room (with no globe around it), I guess you're set; except that with the bulb being upside-down the gears won't catch, and therefore won't spin. So you're left with the option of putting a floor-lamp dead-center in the room. Yay! An awkward obstacle in the middle of the room with a cord running to the wall!

I am so befuddled by the many four- and five-star ratings of this terrible bulb. The only thing I can figure is that they're ALL, not mostly but ALL, from parents of two-year-olds who are amazed because this is the first non-standard bulb they're seeing. Since it's LED, it will probably last a few years, and I'm curious how many 5-stars change to 2- and 1-stars with the new headline, "My 5-year-old is sick of it, but I told them LEDs last 12 years, so now he/she lives with their aunt/uncle."

Large size, standard socket
by larisa (5 out of 5 stars)
August 6, 2018

Purchased 3, all worked fine, use them for parties and Xmas. Looks good at night not so much during the day. These are large bulbs that fit in a standard socket. Didn't fit under lampshades or outdoor light fixtures. We use them in a dual light floor lamp; one facing up the other on the movable arm down or towards an area. They were left on most of December and haven't died. We store them in their box in the garage when not is use.

Sometimes the light will reflect and be very bright. Be careful where you position it so it's not in anyone's eyes.
