I had a rough start with my solar breeze the first one was DOA the on/off switch didnt work. so the unit would charge but not operate. I ordered it through amazon because I wanted it asap since I had just refilled the pool and didnt want the water getting bad. My pool is very hard to keep clean Lots of nearby vegetation and a good amount of coastal breeze blows tons of leaves, pollen and dust into my pool. combined with the fact my skimmer doesnt seem to work well makes for an extremely aggravating situation. I have only had my working SB in for 3 days and can say that it makes a Huuuuuuuuge difference. It's seriously incredible how sparkling clean my water is now I used to see all the dust and pollen floating on the top of the surface, not anymore. The only reason it has 4 and not 5 stars is im concerned about durability. Some reviews say it only lasts a few months and with my first one arriving broken has me a little nervous since this item is a little on the spendy side and cant justify a new one each season. Im posting this review on 1/15/2017 and will update if she stops working. If I can get 2-3 years out of it I will continue to buy them as needed. If not I will have to look at more drastic measures such as a screen enclosure.

Where have you been all of my life?
by Adam G. (5 out of 5 stars)

This product is incredible. I have not manually skimmed my pool once since June (well, maybe once in a very windy day), and I have lots of trees and pine needles. Additionally, my pool robot is feeling very under appreciated, as I rarely need to use it. The solar cells on this thing are terrific. I have told so many others about this product because I am truly amazed by it. Thank you for creating the Solar Breeze. FYI, my pool is approximately 20 feet by 50 feet. It is free form, and it is gunite with ceramic tile just under brick paver coping. None of this prevents the Solar Breeze from doing its job. Just make sure to read the instructions regarding keeping the water level in your pool correct, as the Solar Breeze can get wedged under the coping. One last thing...first time I used it was just after one of my trees shed its blossoms, which were very much like the blossoms on a hydrangea. Left the Solar Breeze on overnight. In the morning, every petal of every blossom had been sucked into the Solar Breeze, which weighed about 50 pounds at that point. Very impressive way to start a relationship if you ask me.

Works Well Until It Doesn't Work At All - Which Isn't Long
by Kevin (2 out of 5 stars)

This item works well for a handful of months before failing due to a poor design. The wheels will warp and the plastic disintegrates, cracking the frame of the device. Specifically, the handles that are used to lift the device into and out of the pool are particularly weak. I have had the device for 18 months now, and it has not been functional for the past three months, and its performance suffered long before that. I would not recommend this product or the upcoming Solar-Breeze NX. Solar Pool Technologies, Inc. produced an expensive product that had flaws that render the product unusable after a short period of time.

Best thing since Salt Water

I purchased my Solar Breeze from Amazon in March 2014. At the time I thought this thing looks too good to be true. I have recently opened my pool and begun to use it and have found that it works GREAT! My pool is surrounded by large oak trees and springtime brings a lot of trash down onto the pool surface. Oak tassels, a few leaves and a LOT of pollen. This week has been especially bad but the Solar Breeze cleaned it up! When I emptied it, the pollen looked like mush... I could not believe how much it had picked up. Now, under these conditions, you do need to clean it out every 4 hours, but that's a quick process.

Overall, I can easily recommend it!

efficient as advertised but disappointed in durability

I really like this product and bought my first one two years ago. I needed to clean the micro filter weekly as it was doing an outstanding job skimming. After storing it for the winter this year, I noticed the control button was very difficult to operate. The control panel ultimately stopped working altogether.

I orderd a new one and it is hard at work in my pool. I wish I could give the SolarBreeze five stars but the cost and durability cause me to only award a 4 star rating.

It is a good job cleaning but when it hits the vacuum hose or the pool steps, stays there too long about five minutes I was given him time to memorize the barriers that he was confronting but at one time before I return it was hitting the stairs And making this crashing sound for two days because the stairs are Oval shape and the unit just kept pushing and pushing and pushing and wouldn't go anywhere. the wheels on the sides were not able to touch the walls to make it go to a different direction for the reason I was undecided to give a 3 1/2 or four stars

Durability is an issue.

We bought this unit in 2014 and use it only in the summer (a short season from May-Sept). Our pool is under heavy tree coverage and the unit works as advertised - picks up small pine leaves, etc. However, the build on this is not durable. The plastic cracks & breaks. Our unit was optimal for the first two summers, and by last summer was unusable. I'm considering buying another one, however, because it really does do the job and dramatically reduces the burden on our pool pump. I'm just trying to decide if it's worth the hefty price tag....

True review

The solar breeze definitely lives up to its hype. I purchased mine in the winter and it has worked surprising well with less sunlight. Although one is tempted to move it in the direction of debris, it is best to just let it piddle around at its own pace and it cleans the total surface of the pool, I have not used my pool pump for two months now,one because of the cold weather but more importantly the leaves are picked up before they reach the bottom. It is very easy to clean(if I can do it anybody can). I have a rock style pool so when it gets hung up in some corners, it backs itself out and piddles along.

Great Little Workhorse Keeps Pool "Swim-Ready"
by Jeff Kaiser (5 out of 5 stars)
December 3, 2016

This item is expensive but REALLY keeps our pool clean. It has been working hard for MONTHS and is still doing a great job. We live in Florida and our pool is not screened, so this little guy needs to work every day year-round. So far so good. Yes, we still need to scoop some things out that float to the bottom. But the pool is always "swim ready".

I bought this Solar Breeze to help get our pool set up for the season. And I have to admit I have been very impressed! It's compact, quiet and has done a fantastic job! I have even recieved comments from guests, about how great our pool looks so early in the spring! I'm really looking forward to the warmer weather to enjoy our sparkling pool!
