Goji Play transforms any cardio equipment into a games machine, making 30 minutes of exercise feel like 5. The wireless game controllers attached to cardio equipment such as elliptical trainers, treadmills, exercise bikes, or nearly any other piece of cardio equipment. The Activity Sensor measures progress towards fitness goals and incorporates movement into the games.

Update: July 7, 2014:

I continue to love this device. Since I've had the device five new games have been added, one of which is a Zombie "Walking Dead" type adventure. Of note however, I had some difficulties with the X button on one of the controllers and I wrote to the company asking for help to resolve the situation and get it working again. I expected to pay for the replacement part or worst case scenario have to buy a new device. I was prepared to buy a new device because I love it just that much. I was shocked when the company responded the very next day saying they would replace the malfunctioning part. I waited eagerly for the part but still managed to use the device without the X button and with touch screen inputs. My package arrived today. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and found I was given an entirely new device! These guys are amazing! The Customer service is wonderful! I'm a fan for life!

Update: March 22, 2014:

I've had this device for about a month now. I mentioned that I had some connectivity issues in the past. Those have been resolved. A company rep contacted me the very next day after I posted my review and gave me a solution. I was using the IPad Mini. I rebooted my device right before going to the gym and have had no problems since. I love this! It is a wonderful, wonderful addition to my workout routine. I can't wait for new games. FYI: Disregard all the negative reviews, this is really worth every dime. I upgraded my review to 5 stars.

I was really excited to get this device. Cardio was becoming a chore but since I'm on a mission to lose weight and get fit I realize it's a necessity. I was so excited when Goji Play arrived and couldn't wait to try it out at the gym. I downloaded all the games even before it arrived so I was ready. Set up at the gym was easy. I use the bike and the Velcro game controllers adhered well to the handle bars. I'm not a gamer but playing a game that utilizes your movements and your energy made the games exciting and fun. I found myself immersed in the game called Riptide GP, using my body by swaying side to side as I tried to navigate the course. My 50 minutes on the bike flew by so quickly that I was amazed. This is an amazing concept which I believe will aide my weight loss goals.

There are down sides however. The Bluetooth connection is not constant. I've only had three workouts, one was flawless, with no connectivity issues. The other two had several moments when the connection was lost despite continued use. I did learn to launch the games from the Goji Play app which helped and I plan to move the wireless sensor to my waistband which I hope helps. The games, while fun, are limited. The controls are not as sensitive to direction as I would like and it does take some time to understand how they interact with the game. I enjoyed the boxing game and the racing games by Vector are great and so worthy of the measly 99 cent price. I am hopeful that the Bluetooth issues are addressed by my anticipated quick fixes, if not I'll call the customer service line.

I don't usually take the time to complete reviews but I'm pleased enough that I really wanted others to know about this great product.

Games are boring

I had higher expectations for goji play based on the description. Unfortunately, the games you can download for it are pretty boring and not very engaging to play so I lost interest in the system after only a couple uses. I tried about 10 games and everyone just seemed tedious. I got it to help make my exercise bike rides more motivating when I would do very long rides but listening to a decent playlist on my phone is more motivating than these games. I feel like this had a lot of potential but they really blew it. If the games were better, this could be a good thing.

GREAT CONCEPT BUT ONE HAS TO KEEP SPENDING

A brilliant concept but it has a way to go with respect to the games offered. What I found both interesting and disappointing, was the wide selection of games that can be downloaded. That was the interesting part. The disappointing part is the fact you are charged for each game. The free ones are pretty basic and the novelty runs out quickly. My hope as that as this product matures and the competition expands that the games offered will expand and they will stop gouging you for what should be part of the package.

I love this, I only wish it was enough to make me want to use the elliptical enough to make this purchase worth it. The games are fun enough, though still difficult to control while working out. I'd like some better games and better control in game, but otherwise this is really pretty cool. I rarely use it anymore, though its not because they weren't fun, its because I don't want to work out and even these couldn't tempt me into doing it.

I used to hate exercising on my elliptical, but now I just can't get enough. Some games are really addictive (Fisty Cuffs is my favourite), and when I'm bored with all free games, I'll still have to possibility of buying other games (reasonnably priced).

The controllers are well made and good quality looking, pairing them is really fast and easy, the batteries seem to be working for a long time. All good!

Few pieces of advice:
- The first time you pair the Goji with your iPhone or iPad, you will need a working WiFi network.
- On an elliptical, using the Goji with your thumbs is not convenient at all because of the wrist movements. Try turning the controllers so the buttons face the front of the machine. You won't see the buttons anymore, but this will allow you to press them with you forefingers and middle fingers rather than your thumbs.
- You can go back to the Goji main menu by pressing all 4 buttons at the same time. Not knowing that was very frustrating at the beginning.

Only 4 stars because it's a bit expensive especially when you add custom taxes when you buy from abroad (£24 for the UK). Also, some of the free games are really bad and uninteresting.

I'm updating my previous review. After I posted some concerns about bugginess with the product, I was stunned to see the company email me personally and work with me to address my concerns. While the apps still have a way to come (check iTunes reviews for more info), I'm really impressed by this company's commitment to its customers. It portends very good developments for the future.

I received this item last week and a Schwinn exercise recumbent bike the same day. At first I had a problem. I thought it was defective, but the controller buttons were not paired (bluetooth). After I went to the support site, I saw how to pair them by pressing the button for 5 seconds.

Once this was set up, I was off to the races. I like the spin or die app with this device. I also like the jet ski game. There are about 11 apps now that support this system.

So far, it's awesome, but to improve it, it would be better if the motion sensor would pick up effort and adjust the speed better in some of the games. You would think that the more effort and speed you put in, the faster you should go, but that doesn't make a difference in some games. Also, it would be really great if Goji Blue made some longer bike routes, jogging paths, rowing down a river or something that went on a longer trip like a 2 or 10 or 20 mile bike ride with 1 or 2 mile laps. Think Expresso bikes.

Also, add to the Goji app to get heart rate info from a heart rate monitor. Maybe it already does it if I have a hrm?

Anyway, this could be the biggest thing since the treadmill if some better apps and more apps would work with it.

Also, what if this could be used as a PS4/PS3/Xbox controller to control games on those? Imagine controlling Need for Speed type games with the Goji Play. Excerisize with a giant TV in front of you.

Gamer working out

This is a great idea. I would like to see some better games come out of this. The games are fairly simple. What about a riding track or a ride through the mountains? I use it on my bike and elliptical. Some of the games really do make a workout seem shorter, but given all the video games out there, there is room for improvement.

Ok for the record I never leave reviews. This time however, it would just be wrong not to. I have sat on my butt for years. I wanted to work out - loved the idea of it, but getting my ever increasing fat self off the couch was impossible. I had ZERO motivation.

I saw this product while searching google for fitness motivation. The idea stopped me in my tracks. I started doing research, searching reviews, you tube - everything I could think of to find out more. I finally bit the bullet and bought it, hoping it could keep me on an elliptical for 15-20 minutes.

I received it one week ago and have logged over 17 miles on my machine. Granted I games, and I am not a gaming critic. The games are engaging enough that I dont think about the fact that I am working out. The main distraction is sweat running in my eyes!! I am not physically fit, nor can I say that I have ever been. I need to loose weight horribly and I desperately need the motivation to get off my tail and move. GOJI PLAY is an amazing motivational tool for me! Not only does it motivate me to exercise, it tells me my steps, miles, calories burned and time on the machine. It has changed my outlook on life. I can't imagine not working out - I will be hot one day and it will be because of goji play!!
