Adorable little toothpick holder. Standard wooden toothpicks load easily into the bottom, sealed by a small rubber plug. The material (ceramic?) is a crisp, matte, white color. Toothpicks come out easily when you pick up the item and tilt it forward. They don't sit quite like the picture- the toothpick doesn't protrude from the hole that far, but enough to grab hold of a toothpick when you need one. I've added a few photos for reference.

This was horrible.. it looks like a beluga whale 99.9% of the time. The hole is too big so most of the time 3 toothpicks try to come out at once and get stuck. The only time it ever looks like a narwhal is for ya .01 second that it takes for you to tip it forward for the toothpick to slide out. It is impossible to get it to just sit in "narwhal form"

The holder itself seems like it's good quality. It's sturdy and solid but it's not as cool as they make it sound.

Bought this as a gift. Very cute. Dispensed toothpicks as it is supposed to do. A fun little item for people who like narwhals and an occasional toothpick. Shipped promptly....no complaints.

My kids are currently into cookie decorating so a handy, easy to access toothpick dispenser was needed to avoid the constantly spilled toothpick boxes and resulting mess. The Polar is not only cool enough for instagram obsessed cookie makers, but practically can be operated with one hand when needed and easily wiped down. The only real complaint we have is that the opening is a little to wide for standard round toothpicks. 2 come out at a time and its too wide to leave a single out as in the picture; the Narwhal tusk won't stay in place without some work - otherwise it would have bee 5 stars.

It's a cute little thing if you're into cute little things. Unfortunately the angle that the creature sets doesn't allow for the toothpick to rest properly, instead sending it shooting back into the head hole (not sure what else to call it.) While I think that it is suppose to look like a Narwal, without the consistency of a visible horn (toothpick) it is more likened to a Manatee with a blowhole. If we had bothered to save the box after gifting it to my wife, I would probably be sending it back since it has now been relegated to our gathering kitchen clutter rather than its intended purpose as an interesting conversation piece. Oh well, live and learn...and have another garage sale!

It's really cute but the toothpick slides back in constantly so you don't really see the true narwahl look very much. Seems like good quality and arrived timely.

Bought this as a gift for my boyfriend who loves to use toothpicks. He really liked it! It has a cute & elegant ceramic / Jonathan Adler style piece. The toothpicks don't hold upright very well popped out of the hole on their own, but a trick is to sneak a bit of a second toothpick up alongside the main toothpick to wedge it into place / upright when on display. Or just buy thicker toothpicks.

Doesn't look as pictured. The plastic cap used at the bottom so toothpick doesn't fall out should be placed gently or could go inside. But I still found it to be cute.
