I did not keep it
by Andrés Knittel (2 out of 5 stars)

(Sorry for my english - Not english speaker)

Pros: The wallet looks as nice and elegant as in the pictures. VERY well made and finished. Nice leather smell. Black color with grey stitching and grey owl Bellroy logo looks fantastic. Very good size and proportions, and different sized slots that allow to hold different type of cards (not all cards are the same size as credit cards).

Cons: However, the main complaint and reason I did not keep it is because, as can be seen in the pictures attached, the "hide and seek" function simply didn't work for me. The little leather flap that separates the visible pocket from the hidden pocket tends to overlap the bills of the visible pocket (my currency is the same size as US dollars). It tends to happen more when there is a card in the slot of the hidden section due to the rigidity of the card that moves the leather flap to cover the bills when you open the wallet. It is VERY frustrating when you want to reach your notes and have to struggle with the leather flap which covers the notes, specially in a ninety dollars wallet.

Such a shame it did not work as expected, because other than that the wallet is really nice.

Hard leather, Bad emblem, Cracked cards
by Robert D. Senn (1 out of 5 stars)

I bought this wallet to slim down my wallet. Prior to this I was using a money clip style wallet with 3 pockets, which I had at least 2 cards in each pocket. I saw the ads all over the Internet for this wallet and decided to take the *expensive* plunge.

Right out of the package I was disappointed. The leather was a lot harder than I thought it would be for the price. and the metal emblem was a concern as I could easily see it catching on things (which it did). I proceeded to load the wallet with my cards, and was pleasantly surprised that they all fit, I did have to double up a couple cards, but they all fit inside.

Then I started using it and that's when the problems started. At first I would have an issue pulling out a couple cards like those in back slot, or the ones I had to keep under my ID, not bad but frustrating. I tried using the hidden money pocket a couple times to keep large bills or checks hidden, and found myself standing in the middle of a bank or store trying to get the leather flap just right so that the wallet would fold correctly. The metal emblem as mentioned above started pressing on my cards when I sat down, putting strain on my cards and catching on my pocket when I'd put it in my pocket, and the leather started looking pretty rough very quickly, after using it for 3 months it looks like a wallet I had for 10 years. The final straw was yet to come though...

I ordered a Coin multi-card in order to cut down on the now increasing amount of cards in my wallet, once I received the Coin and putting my cards into it, I noticed of that *ALL* the cards I had in my wallet had started to crack lengthwise as the pockets in the wallet lined them up just right to put enough pressure to crack each card. On top of that the leather had embossed the number from my primary debit card into the leather so that it was visible when holding the wallet open.

After purchasing this, I felt like a sucker and it now sits in a drawer.

My husband loved it! (Me, I think they are almost perfect)

My husband had been always complaining about how huge walets were, how uncomfortable is to have then in the back pocket and then sitting down on it... So I'd been keeping an eye on this wallet brand since I saw them on kickstarter os something like it... So I finally decided to buy this for father's day... And he toootally loooved it!

What I didn't love much about it is: this model doesn't offer many options on leather nor colors. I would've preferred a more modern look like blue with some accent details on orange for example as they offer on other models. This cow skin leather is nice with a smooth feel but not that shiny (which can make it look like used or wore out. Another thing, the inside fabric lining makes it feel like a cheaper wallet.

These things doesn't bother my husband but me knowing a bit more about materials ans design I just think, for the price you pay, thaey could improve on quality and make them more appealing to touch and sight. Anyway, for now i think is the best option available if wallet space is a top priority like my husband's.

Happy to have a far less bulky wallet in my pocket!

Not sure how they do it, but there is no mistaking the fact that this wallet, with all the same cards and cash in it as my old wallet, is much thinner in my pocket. I carry 10 plastic cards, 3 coated paper cards, and cash in my wallet. My previous wallet was 1 3/4" thick with these contents. Transferring it to this wallet, it's a shade less than 1" thick and it is far more comfortable in my pants pocket. And, I'd say they underestimate the capacity when they say it will hold 12 cards. After putting my cards and cash it seemed like it would easily accommodate more, so I grabbed a few gift cards I had just to see how much I could comfortably fit, I easily fit 15 plastic cards, my 3 paper cards and 12 paper bills in without any problem. The test with extra cards did result in a thicker wallet, but still very slim.

Initial impressions on the construction are all positive, it appears to be good quality leather, well stitched and with the pleasant aroma of leather; not an overwhelming chemical smell like many leather products have. Of course, only time will tell if it is a durable, quality leather product.

Quality construction. I feel this wallet will be with me for many years. Not as magical as they make

I needed a solid wallet. My previous wallet, I don't even remember the brand, lasted about a year. The stitching seemed to have created perforations in the material which started tearing a few weeks ago. My ID started slipping out. I had seen Bellroy's ads for a while but the price was a bit high in my opinion. When my wallet started to break I bit the bullet and ordered the Hide & Seek. It's feels really sturdy and well made. I haven't taken advantage of the hidden pocket yet. I had to clear out some things to get it all to fit which is fine. I guess I was carrying some unnecessary space wasters. Ultimately I really like this wallet so far.

I will say their ad showing how they slim a wallet is a little unfair. Comparing a tri-fold wallet to a bi-fold wallet is sort've an apples to oranges comparison. It does make sense that every time you put a layer of material between your cards, your wallet will get bigger. The other side to that argument is that the fabric protects your credit cards with raised type. Stacking those credit cards with other cards can increase wear and tear on those cards. I've seen that TD Bank's cards don't have raised numbers so maybe other banks will start to follow suit and this will become a non-issue in the future.

Simple design and fits almost all items from older wallet

After getting rid of my "Hamburger" wallet as my son called it, I was pleased with the simplicity of this wallet. I like the RF protection but I have to assume it works. The second flap for hiding monies, etc is being used for extra credit cards on one side and photo's on the other half. Like the knocked off corners of the front slots for the first credit cards, makes it easy for these popular credit cards to pop them in & out. The small bird on the outside adds a nice touch of class and style.

Best wallet on the planet.

This is the perfect wallet. My brother has had a Bellroy for a year or so now and I always thought he had overpaid for it. So when I began to look for a wallet I look high and low online and in person for a wallet that could best his. Albeit impossible is what I found out. This is the best wallet on the planet. It can fit all of my credit and debits cards(10), business cards, a SIM card, coins, and has a secret fold for other bills as well.

Lightweight and exceptional quality.

I have been researching wallets for several months. There is an excellent review of the top wallets on lifehacker.com. I have several cards in my trifold wallet and bunch of insurance documents (papers). Once I got all the cards in this wallet, they fit fine but when I added the insurance papers (folded), the wallet became bulky. I immediately took all my cards out and decided to return the wallet. Long story short.... I have it another try the next day and decided to let the wallet go through the break-in period of one day. Now all my cards (about 10) + insurance documents fit snug and one $20 bill. The wallet is amazingly light and not bulky with all my cards and stuff. I have to make a habit to touch and feel it in my pocket to make sure it is there. Excellent product but worth it if you want to reduce the wallet size. This wallet is not for the people who got 20+ cards and want to carry all the paper in the world.

It's probably not quite worth the whole $90 price but it's darn close. It screams quality and just looks good. It draws some eyeballs here and there because it doesn't look all beat up by your back pocket.

It has tons of slots and hidey holes and yet still has a slim profile and feel. I was deciding between this one and Bellroy's lowdown wallet but they are very close in size and this one is about as small at US dollars as I want to go.

Quality seems solid and stitching seems well done. It's design is pretty handy for allowing you to carry several cards without anywhere near the bulk many other wallets would. It's a good compromise between capacity and minimal size.

Is it worth the price? IMHO yes assuming it lasts a while. All indications are it will.
