I am an HVAC tech in Florida and it gets hot. Often I find myself in my truck with the A/C on trying to fill out work orders, looking up parts, thumbing through a manual etc. I am driving a 2016 Ford Transit T150 and this fits very well. I am over 6 feet tall and 175 lbs so I am very slender and there is a sizeable 6-8 inch gap between me and the steering wheel desk so most guys will have "room to grow" so to speak.

Positive:

sturdy. decent size, especially for note taking on notepad, (not regular size paper), good coverage for sloppy eaters (ha, like me), easily cleaned, easy to store in locker. Price ok (for a failed experiment)

Negatives:

If your steering wheel is padded at all, good chance it won't fit, making any positives moot (unless you just use it for a lap tray.) Cup indent is a bit small, so choose drinks wisely. diameter of steering wheel not an issue, just the thickness.

I drive multiple vehicles with different size/shapes padded/not padded steering wheels, and it just barely fits on 1 of them, the small, unpadded one.

I would love to reccomend the item, but make sure your steering wheel is on the thin side, preferably with little to no padding.

You will enjoy your fast food to the maximum just moments after it arrives through the window - you will not regret it. I can't imagine any normal car has a steering wheel this wouldn't work on. Fit on our suv perfectly. Worth every penny.

poorly made, the molded plastic had sharp edges that cut my steering wheel leather. you don't want this.

I bought this in Nov 2015. (Back then they offered the small one in black.)

My husband uses it almost every day. It's holding up extremely well, especially given how often it's used. It gives him a little extra space in our small car to eat lunch on or rest his phone/tablet, and is small and light enough to be carried around in his back pack. It cleans easily with warm water and dish soap. His direct quote for this review is, "I wouldn't trust anything heavy that might spill easily (drinks, for example), but it stays up well, even with my tablet on it."

I'd purchase this again as well as recommend it to others.

Great steering wheel desk for my Subaru Legacy 2010! A+

Does very well for my needs. I like to work and eat out of my car. For reference, this is being used on a Subaru Legacy 2010 steering wheel. One thing I would highly advised is that this may not fit if you have a steering wheel cover. If your steering wheel cover is too thick, it may not attach to the steering wheel. I have a steering wheel cover, but it was barely thin enough for this desk to work.

I have attached a few pictures showing my lunch and a couple of tablets on it to hopefully give you a sense of the desk size.

I am well pleased with this product and was able to get a couple of days work with peace and quiet in my car.

If you have a fatter steering wheel, or one that has a "peace" sign style, you will have to turn the wheel around to use this. Because my wheel is fatter, it doesn't have a super great connection with it, but does the job. I've eaten off it a few times, and I flip it over to the "desk side" to do paperwork. I travel a lot with my work and it comes in very handy to have a "desk" to write on, or lay my laptop on. If the grippers were any larger though, people with smaller steering wheels would have issues so I'm going to say it's great. Maybe they could sell two sizes, but then people would end up with the wrong one sooooooo.... I still like it :)
