The KODIAK features our patent pending Fire Starting Buckle with ferrocerium ("ferro rod") and hardened stainless steel striker, and approximately 10 feet of survival 550 paracord custom made in the USA to include 2 strands of 20 pound braided fishing line and 1 strand of fire tinder. Pretty large, fits very loosly on my arm, but not an issue out camping. On my day to day I just leave it clipped to an arm of my backpack. I do wish the fire starter ferro rod was a bit longer.

Definitely could be a lifesaver! Has extra nylon and string on the inside! I wish there was one with a scraper with everything just like this one!

Outdoor Element's Kodiak Survival Braid is a great survival bracelet. A very cleaver idea to place the ferro rod and striker in in the bracelets buckle. It sparks up very nicely making our charred cloth and cotton balls with Vaseline easy to get started. I got the large size which is just a little big, but the medium was not quite big enough. I liked that the Kodiak came with a sample piece of para cord to check out the features in the cord it self. Pulled out the Jute and made a little nest and gave the striker a try and after a few attempts got a spark to take hold and had a fire. With fishing line in the para cord and a hook hidden within this bracelet is all set to save you behind if needed. Will definitely be taking the Kodiak on future outing.

Bought this at the Colorado Insanity Mud Run in Larkspur. Have had it for 6 months and everyone that I show, they love it. Great piece and functional.
