Our kids (2 and 3) and all other kids who visit our house enjoy both of them

We have this and the smaller roller coaster made by the same company (if you want to see a size comparison, with them sitting side-by-side, see pic). Our kids (2 and 3) and all other kids who visit our house enjoy both of them. The Extreme Coaster is the better buy, as it will entertain for years - while the smaller roller coaster has almost lost its appeal now, due to being too small and slow to appeal to kids (as opposed to toddlers, who do enjoy it quite a bit). The Extreme Coaster is definitely one of the most-used toys in our yard and was well worth the investment for the amount of use it has gotten and will continue to get.

Frustrating build
by Timothy (3 out of 5 stars)

The ramp looks nice and I'm sure that my children will enjoy it on Christmas day. However, it took me hours to put together last night. What a frustrating build! The instructions are terrible and this toy does not come with any tools to build it. You're going to need some items:
1. Hammer - you have to hammer the wheels to the axels. I'm praying these don't fly off.
2. Wrenches - Adjustable wrenches are too big. You'll need two 1/2-inch wrenches (socket wrench may be too big to fit)
3. Drill - to pre-drill holes in plastic
4. Electric screwdriver or a LONG phillips-head bit for your drill
5. Light - to read the cryptic instructions
6. Extra Long Screws - not enough are provided for the handrails

I almost ruined the entire build on step-9 of the instructions. You have to use the washers during this step or you will be screwed. No washers are mentioned during this step and no washers are shown in the instruction photos. Without washers, the bolt stripped out of the plastic and got trapped inside the roto-molded plastic. I had to cut away plastic with a dremel and unscrew everything. Terrible instructions at this step ... all they had to do was show the washers in the instructions and I would have saved 45 minutes of my life!

You are going to be connecting plastic pieces with lots of screws. I wish more of the unit was held together with bolts, as those little plastic screws tend to strip through the thin plastic. The large green handrails need longer screws and not enough came with the kit. It's off to Lowes for me.

A handy person with a fully-decked out shop will find the build easy. Others may find the build process unnecessarily frustrating.

Caution
by Amazon Customer (4 out of 5 stars)

I just bought this for my son for Christmas and just finished putting it together. I'm a seasoned fix it upper and assembled hundreds of things in my lifetime. I found a flaw in the design of this playset. It should have an additional 4 washers, so washers can be placed on both ends of the 4 bolts provided. The pre-drilled holes are simply too big for the smaller nut. The nut did not hold the track together and simply fell through. Do yourself a favor and go to the hardware store and buy an additional 4 washer. You will thank me later. Other than that flaw with the design, it looks great. I'm looking forward to seeing my son's face on Christmas.

Best thing I've ever bought!

So "Santa" surprised my kids with this amazing roller coaster for Christmas 7 months ago and needless to say it was a hit!! It provides hours of fun for the kids (and adults) it says the weight limit is like 100 pounds but we decided to test that out with a bunch of adults (enjoy the pictures) now, it not only provides hours of fun for the kids... but us adults try to see who can make it the furthest without killing ourselves on hills/roads/driveways! Santa definitely got it right with this one!! WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Great toy, terrible assembly

Fun for my kiddo, but be aware you may need more bolts and washers than are provided. It took forever to assemble, plus a trip to the hardware store thrown in. Plan accordingly so you don't have to lie and tell your child that Santa accidentally dropped the toy from his sleigh, which is why it is sitting in pieces in the back yard...

What a great purchase! Many years of fun for ages 1 year old to 110 pound adult (not made for adults but i ride it no problem). I can easily justify the hi $200 price. EXCELLENT quality, durability, and versatility.amazed by age range. Suggest to purches for first childs first birthday...will be around for future children...my 12 year old loves playing with the 4 year old on it. Aweson toy..dont hesitate to buy.

Hours of fun on this! but some washers missing for assembly

The grandkids LOVE this! Our little grandson is only just turned 2, but can push the car up the ramp and loves the ride down! Up and down he goes for hours! He loves it and so do his 5 and 7 year old siblings. They were fighting over it! Grandma and Grandpa are thrilled. BUT our son in law had to go to the local hardware store and get some washers that were not in the box. Other than that, FedEx even delivered this 2 days early! Came in time for the bday party! (Columbus, OH area)This is a large toy and in the warm weather it will go outside. Definitely recommend this!

Kids love

My boys are 1 & 4, and they love this. We have it running on artificial turf, and it is perfect. It rolls enough to be fun but not too far to be an issue. We tried one run having it end on concrete, but that was a definite no go for our yard. The 1 y/o can't push himself down, but can do everything else himself (push the car up and get in). My 4 y/o is tall and skinny and can still enjoy this for a while yet.

My two year old twins love this! It is so fun and pretty thrilling. The neighbor kids all love it to. It does tear up the grass but that is to be expected. I am so glad we got this to keep my kids busy. They literally play on it for hours a day.

This thing is an absolute nightmare to assemble

Inadequate hardware and poor instructions. Within the first 10 minutes I had already lost a screw in the plastic molding of the middle section. *nice knowing ya, screw* I would gladly spend an extra 50 bucks to have this thing come pre-assembled.

It broke on the same day we put it together.

This roller coaster was very difficult to put together. The instructions were very confusing. It showed pictures, but there are no labeled parts and there are very few words to clearly state how it should be assembled. We were missing 4 washers and had to go buy our own. Of course washers aren't expensive, but it was inconvenient to stop putting it together and go to the store. We assembled it inside the house and then moved it to the backyard. When we picked it up to move it, it broke. One of the little plastic holes where the screw and washer goes bent in. So now the hole is bigger than it should be. Be extra careful when moving the roller coaster after it is assembled. Now we have to take it all apart, box it up and return it. My daughter loved riding it in the house, but I don't know if it is really worth all of the work to have to take it apart, return it and then do it all over again. It took two people at least 2 hours to put together the first time. It was pretty sturdy once it was put together. My daughter rode it several times in the house. The car stayed in place at the top of the ramp while she climbed in it. But it wasn't very durable when we moved it outside.
