I first saw this item when it aired on shark tank and thought it was genius. I didn't get a chance to buy into it until now.

I bought the King Sized Cordaroy Beanbag bed. While it's setup as a bean bag, even though theoretically it can fit 2 people and maybe 3 if you squeeze in together, this is most comfortable as a single seater. The first time you sit on it after you fluff it up/repack it after using it as a bed, is important because if you sit on it wrong it's hard to reposition the foam to fill in the right areas and instead of comfort it may feel too lumpy or too hallow without back support. One thing I do to make sure I have enough back support is make sure the Cordaroy label is right side up and showing at the effective "seating area" of the bean bag. If it's on the side or even lopsided the foam inside doesn't feel like it has enough support.At the end of the day though, the bean bag still could use a lot more filling. Even though we requested some more, no one from Cordaroy has gotten back to us.

As a bed, the need for more filling is more evident. The bed is comfortable enough but the bed's fullness is vastly different from the picture as shown. After a few hours you already feel the floor in some areas of the bed because there just isn't enough stuffing. Even if we flipped it over and over to make sure to even out the filling, it doesn't get to the other sides sometimes because there really just isn't enough. It's better than sleeping on the hardwood floor for sure. I'd still rather the whole bed feels like an actual bed though. Some areas it feels like it's just like a really plush thick carpet after a few hours.

What it lacks in comfort though it really makes up for in functionality. I love how I can make it a bean bag and then a bed especially since I just recently had relatives over. Although It's fun trying to get them to lay it out and put it back in, it's also a little sad and cumbersome that it's virtually impossible to put it away by yourself.

Should ship with more foam.

From the moment I opened a box it was a huge pain. During packing, tons of foam pieces were stuck in the crevices of the bag. Once the bag expanded, it left a *huge* mess. Even after vacuuming twice, there are still tiny pieces everywhere. There was no hole in the bag and the zipper was shut, so this was extra foam that made it into the packaging.

On the the bag itself... pointless for an adult. I'm 6' foot 180 pounds and my butt hits the floor no matter how I sit in it. It 100% can't be used as a bed. This is after 24 hours of letting it expand.

I own a LoveSac and a Jaxx bag. Both about the same size and both have almost twice as much filling inside. If I could easily send this thing back, I would.

I've seen a few other reviews who said CordaRoy's sent them extra filling for free. I'll try that and see how it works, but for now, this was a bad 'Amazon Prime Day' purchase.

Edit: After a week I have received more foam from CordaRoy's and the bag is now decent. I don't hit the floor anymore, which is the way it should be. These bags should ship standard with more foam. Customers shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get a good amount. If it weren't for that and the giant mess, I would have given this 4-5 starts.

multi-purpose beanbag that sits in my living room (and goes with my couch color). many were surprised that it turns into a mattress and surprising a very very comfy mattress. It's easy to put the mattress back together.

This is my third CordaRoys beanbag purchase. My other one is 10+ years old and is as nice as the day I bought it. I've replaced the (washable!!) cover once, and that was ONLY because my kid got Sharpie on it. I keep that cover as a spare for when I wash the other. It's in perfect shape. Second one was bought for my stepdaughter 3 years ago. These bags are sorta pricey when you start shopping around for a bean bag, but I assure you it's COMPLETELY WORTH IT. Buy another beanbag and you'll be sending it to Goodwill in a year, or you won't be able to wash the cover, or the zipper will break. Or it will be flat as a pancake. These beanbags are tough and hold up. Mine has been through a toddler through middle schooler, two dogs, theee cats, and multiple nieces, nephews, stepkids, overnight guests (yes, the mattress inside is useable and fairly comfy!) and everything in between. I bought this last one for my sisters house for her toddler grandkids' playroom. I suspect they'll still be using it when they're teens. Buy it. Don't sweat the price. Totally worth it.

Inconsistent product

I bought a full size bag the first go around. It arrived quickly as promised. My wife called to ask how it was when she heard it had arrived. My exact response was "very underwhelming". This was due to the foam not yet expanding. So, after waiting a couple days, my opinion completely changed. The stuffing did expand and my kids now loved the bag. We even had guests come stay that used it as a mattress. They were impressed. It obviously wasn't the most comfortable bed they've had, but for a couple nights it worked great. We were so impressed now that I decided to buy a second one. This time I purchased a queen size bag, certain that we'd be blown away. However it's now been almost 48 hours and the foam still has not expanded much. The foam was way more clumpy than the full size bed and much more difficult to break up. It was compressed so tightly into sheets (it comes rolled up not in a cube like the video shows) that the sheets are not breaking up. Even when "massaging" them as their videos demonstrate, the foam is not breaking apart. After almost 2 days, my full size bag is bigger, more full, and has significantly more support than the queen size bag. As a bed there is no way you could use it. It lies so flat that you'd be lying on the ground. And the remaining clumps are so uncomfortable you'd never be able to sleep anyway. I've read a lot of reviews about needing more stuffing. I'm honestly pretty shocked that with as many complaints as there are about understuffing that this continues to be a problem. You'd think that the company would automatically decide to re-examine the stuffing amount for the bags and correct the issue. That said though, it is true that I didn't need more for the full bag. It was perfect. But the queen bag is obviously under-stuffed.

Another issue is that the inner lining is very different between the two bags. I'll attach pictures. The full size bag has the liner that you see in the pictures with the company logo on it. The queen size bag has some generic liner around it that sounds like a parachute rubbing around anytime you move it. Maybe this was an earlier version that's been sitting in their warehouse? You'd never be able to sleep on the bed because the liner is so noisy. Again, not sure why the change in the liner from the full bag to the queen bag, but the queen bag is terrible by comparison.

It's sad that the quality of the product shifted so much from the full to the queen size bag. I've owned a luvsac and even liked the full way more than the luvsac. But the queen size cost more money and was a significantly different (and worse) product. I've heard their customer service is amazing so I'll put that to the test after giving the bag another day or two just to be sure. I'll update my review after I speak with them. In my opinion it will absolutely need a new liner but most likely a new liner and new stuffing.

In the photos, the full is on the left, queen on the right. The photos don't do justice to the true "lumpiness" of the queen.

Also, after looking at the tag on the liners, the full size says it's a 80/20 polyester/cotton mix while the queen says it's a 65/35 poly/cotton mix. Surprising as you'd expect the one with more poly to maybe be noisier but it's the opposite. The queen liner is extremely loud.

UPDATE:

I called the company to see how to fix the issues with the queen bag I received. I was excited to see if their customer service was as impressive as others had made it sound. FAIL. I called and got an answering machine or voicemail which stated to leave your name and phone number and then they'd call you back as soon as possible. I left my name, number, and a brief description of my issue. That was almost two weeks ago. Still have not heard anything back and have been too busy myself to try calling them again. I have changed my review to now only one star due to the customer service, or lack thereof, being just as unimpressive as the product. I'll continue to try to reach out to them and will update the review once I hear from them. Until then, I honestly can not recommend this product to anyone.

FINAL UPDATE:

I finally had time to try and contact their customer service again. Again I had to leave a message. This time however, I received a call back from Steph the very next day. She was awesome and every bit as impressive as other reviewers have mentioned. After giving her a brief description of the problem, she gave me her email, asked for the amazon order number, and then sent an entirely new queen size bag (no cover as the old cover is perfect). The new "insert" as they call them arrived yesterday. I could tell the difference immediately upon opening the box. Within 5 minutes of opening the box, the bag already had more fullness and "fluff" than the now couple month old one does. I can already tell we'll love it just like we did the full size one. Also, the liner now is the exact same liner as the liner that was on the full size bag. It is a significantly better liner. Steph said they have a couple different liners that they use. Not sure why. The brown one is WAY better than the other one. The only thing I could think of is that maybe the brown ones are newer and occasionally you get one of the older ones out of their stock. Anyway, the new bag looks like it will be just as impressive as the full size one. Steph was amazing. Loved the ease of working with her and the company's obvious commitment to quality and providing memorable customer experiences. They've turned us back into fans again. Now looking forward to buying some pillow pods from them.

Review has been updated to 3 stars. I couldn't go more than that just because it did take multiple phone calls to get a hold of the company and also the fact that the quality of the first queen bag that was sent was so much worse than the quality of the full bag and second queen bag. Had the second queen bag been what was sent the first time around, this would be a five star review.

Lumps due to clumps! HELP!

The chair arrived on time and is an OK color and texture. However, the foam is sticking to itself to make small clumps (see photo 6" clump) and large clumps 18x12x3" that feel quite firm. I thought it was an uncut piece of foam until I opened it up to look. The chair is not comfortable at all this way - no cushioning in spots so that it is not even usable as a chair, never mind a bed. The large clumps are hard and don't break apart without considerable massaging. I did not expect this much work, and I don't trust it not to re-clump when someone sits on it. Did you change the foam used? Can you send me foam that does not clump? or another chair?

Grandpa and Grandma hang out in the playroom

I purchased two queens and they are perfect for my grandkids' playroom and such a bonus that they convert to mattresses for when they spend the night! I have five grandkids that range in age from 1-6 and spend the weekend with us once a month. So much easier than blowing up air mattresses and no need to worry about them falling off a regular bed! The bean bags are super comfy. In fact, my husband and I have been known to watch movies in the playroom because they are the best seat in the house. No regrets on this purchase!

Purchased for my daughter despite some negative reviews about there not being enough filling. For your information, the product arrived with information on how to request additional filling for free if needed. My daughter's bean bag had more than enough filling to use as a bean bag or bed. While I was initially surprised by the price, it was consistent with similar products. It is well made.

It's About As Comfortable As If You Were To Place Styrofoam Peanuts In Between Two Sheets

I gave this a chance, I wanted to like it. I wanted to love it, but I'd settle for like. I can't stand air mattresses, and when I saw this on Shark Tank, it seemed like the perfect option for when company visits us at our cabin. A few days before our company was coming, it was a super hot night. We camped in front of the A/C and opened this up into a bed. I read everything about this on the CordaRoy's website, and even watched videos about making it more comfortable, etc. It literally felt as if we made our own bed out of sewing two sheets together, and filled it with styrofoam peanuts. I even walked on it, kicking my toes down into the foam, trying to break it up. Second night was just as bad. Our dog was the only one who loved it. He gave up his memory foam bed to sleep on it.

That being said, CordaRoy seems like they want to help make it a comfortable experience. They offered me more foam, which I declined. More foam to me would be like more styrofoam peanuts - bumpier, which wasn't going to solve the problem. I asked our company for an honest opinion. They didn't like it anymore than we did. Not comfortable, super bulky, and the price is outrageous for what you're getting! Over 300 dollars? SO not worth it! Some people on here seem to like it but if you ask me? Don't waste your money!

Hello, I am from Germany. First of all, I apologize for my English, because it is not so good. I saw Shark Tank at DMAX in Germany. I have only a small one-room apartment in Leipzig and therefore not much space. The Cordaroy is perfect for that. He is so comfortable and I love him. Unfortunately, I had to pay over $ 125 shipping. But it was worth it, especially because he has arrived more than a week earlier. It was just 7 days he needed to arrive. I'm very satisfied. Thanks for this great invention.

Hallo ich bin aus Deutschland. Zuerst mal entschuldige ich mich für mein Englisch, da es nicht so gut ist. I sah Shark Tank bei DMAX in Deutschland. Ich habe nur eine kleine Einraumwohnung in Leipzig und somit nicht viel Platz. Der Cordaroy ist perfekt dafür. Er ist so bequem und ich liebe ihn. Leider musste ich über 125 Dollar Lieferkosten bezahlen. Aber das war es mir Wert, vorallem weil er schon über eine Woche eher angekommen ist. Es waren gerade mal 7 Tage die er gebraucht hat um bei mir anzukommen. Ich bin sehr zufrieden. Danke für diese tolle Erfindung.
