Not for bees, fine for the price

This is no good for native bees. The size is wrong, the materials will encourage parasites and disease, and the location wanted by bees is opposite that of ladybugs, butterflies, etc. However, for $11, it's OK. I took the bamboo tubes out and mounted it where it will be covered by a honeysuckle next year. Taking the tubes out made it easy to mount with two deck screws, (I filled that how with pinecones) but my original plan was to put two nails in at an angle from outside. Quality is good, considering the price.

Love it! I had it up for about 6 weeks and then all of a sudden I noticed that the tubes were being sealed! Very cool!

This piece is small but very well made. I must have had over 100 ladybugs inside this year. I know exactly where I'm going to hang it! As a gardener, I try to keep all the good bugs in my yard. Hopefully this will help.

So cute I want to keep it inside.

I'm not sure how well this will work for bees when I have it hanging in the house because it's so cute. I guess I will let them have it. I got mine, and it is exactly as pictured, well made, and adorable. I had pictured it with a wire or something to hang it, though... there's a slot for a screw to mount on the back - so that's ok.

Update- 6/25/2017: Finally got it hung in our tree. Adding simple eye screws (like for hanging pictures) helped to secure it in our Chaya tree with garden ties. Pictures included!

Tubes were broken and dented upon arrival.

I ordered 2 of these houses and I plan on returning them. They arrived packed upside down so the bamboo tubes had all fallen out and would not all fit back together. The tin roof was dented from a poor job hammering. These were a disappointment.

Didnt work for us

I was so excited about this but now I am regretting the purchase. I read the suggestive places on the back and placed the house in a shaded area near flowers (where I usually see bees) and not a single bug of any sort has taken interest =(.

Really Helpful

I've bought a total of 4 of these insect nests because every year ladybugs invade our laundry room through the doggie door. I am carefully relocating them outside to the insect house, and some of them appear to be staying. I've read this is because once they find a safe place they excrete a smell/pheremone that attracts others to their safe hiding place. I love them.

A low cost way to attract helpers to your garden!

Arrived exactly as advertised. Within an hour of placing it in our garden we had several visitors inspecting the new "Rest Stop". This is one of three of these I ordered so we are watching to see who or what likes which one. The Grandkids will love it!
