Terrific Cabinet Bed!

First, I'd like to say that the murphy bed cabinet were terrific and very nice quality - it exceeded my expectations! Beware, however, when you receive it. It was delivered on two pallets in three very large boxes that were tightly wrapped together with cellophane. The delivery company will only take it off the truck where he can leave the whole thing and it must be where he can get to with a pallet jack to (i.e., driveway, garage, etc.) - just pray it isn't raining if you don't have space in your garage. He was very pleasant though and was absolutely on time. He said he is not allowed to take the items off the pallet, so once he places on the ground of your choice, he's done. That being said it was packed so well, there were no damages or scratches to the cabinet or bed. You will need at least two fairly strong people to lift the pieces and put the cabinet together. My husband and I did it, but I was definitely struggling. It's very heavy and you are required to attach the base to the larger cabinet while it's upside down to screw it in. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family, just need to make sure you have help to put it together.

Bed arrived with defects in workmanship with no resolution

The product arrived in May 2018, defective: one of the leg supports had a split in the wood (photo attached) and one glide on the bed support (the support pulls out from the frame to support the bed) would stick so the bed support would not fully extend. We contacted the seller the day we unpacked the unit (16 May) to resolve these issues. The seller contacted a furniture repair group locally, who came out and put epoxy in the split, declaring it structurally sound, but could not repair the glide. I contacted the seller again. After a couple of weeks, the seller sent out a new glide and contacted the furniture repair people again. The furniture repair guy returned and said the glide sent was too short, so we had 2 options: 1) Install the new glide even with the back of the originally installed glide, meaning the new, short glide would not extend as far as the original and not support the bed, or 2) install the new glide further out, meaning that the new glide would extend as far as the original glide, now supporting the bed, but would not retract as far as the original, leaving a gap between the bed support and the furniture frame (photo attached). We went with option 2, but I contacted the seller again for resolution. We paid ~$2k for this. We deserve better. After weeks of hearing nothing, we contacted the seller again and asked what was happening. They asked for more pictures. We sent more pictures. Now, nothing. Note that we are now approaching August and we still have a defective bed. We do not recommend this product or this seller. They got 1 star because zero stars was not an option.

The cabinet is very well constructed and looks great in our lake house. I have decorative items on top and have no trouble with them moving as I open and close the bed. The mattress is very firm but I like that and it slept great. I live in Nebraska and it took 10 busniess days for my bed to come. My first bed came damaged. Called customer service and they took care of everything. Sent a new bed and picked up the new one plus made things right for the long wait and inconvenience. Amazon you are the best!

Very well made. Solid wood, as advertised, beautifully finished. Delivered on time. It's heavy, but it should be. I assembled it by myself in about an hour. I like that the frame folds out...no wheels to get hung up on carpeting. Really great product at a great price.

One week into owning. Love it. Has port for two phones and lamp, Love that!

Had amazon tech build it so no idea about putting it together, it took the guy 2 hours by himself but its easy to open and close by yourself.

Top quality materials and workmanship

Excellent hard wood furniture. Watched the videos for unpacking and assembly before touching the box. Unpacked everything per directions...took about 90 minutes because I was not in a rush. The packing was done extremely well with lots of foam blocks, plastic and foam cushion. Assembly took about 90 minutes because I did it alone. While they recommend two people, it can be done if you take your time and plan your moves. Finished product is very nice and looks great in our spare room. Oh, the mattress takes at least two days to decompress and I recommend planning on three. The mattress comes in its own box and is compressed and rolled into a 12x12x60 box. Would definitely recommend for guest rooms that are infrequently used by guests.

I got it on Amazon. Took quite a few weeks to be delivered. I think it came from Egypt.

So now, after spending hundreds of dollars, over the years, on countless air mattresses and cots and roll-away beds and sleeper sofas and never having something that we thought our guests would actually be comfortable on, we now have a beautiful piece of solid wood furniture and a spare bed that we can be happy with letting our guests sleep on. This piece of furniture will be in our family for many generations, I am sure. It is very heavy but, at 74, I was able to get it up to a second floor room and put it together virtually by myself. I took it out of the box and took the hinge screws out and that made the bed two heavy but manageable pieces. I slid the two parts up the carpeted stairs and reassembled at the top. Took a couple hours but we are very pleased with this bed.
