I was excited to see Solsol on Amazon's new style show. I live in Los Angeles and already have a hat and love it! I especially like to wear it at the beach.

Quick shipping and a nice product. I wish the brim was flexible and that the hat could store energy. Even the slightest cloud seems to shut it down.

Great idea poor quality

5⭐for creative idea -3⭐ for poor materials, assembly, and quality assurance I'll let my pictures explain everything. Chipped, scratched, nicked, cracked solar panal, its not center on the bill of the hat so it makes a ugly dip in the elastic nylon? That's not even stiched to the edge of the brim come on could of at least stiched the bottom part to the cloth of the brim making a little pocket for the solar panel instead of sticking a basically rubber band around the edge, the plug is not exposed enough and the stitching and seems around it is very poor leaving alot of loose thread to get stuck inside the plugs, the wire connectors right in the middle of the side of the hats sweatband are too big they dig in to the side of your head they need to be smaller thinner or how about using a solid wire instead

It is a great idea, but it still needs a lot of work to be an efficient charging system

Maybe if it had a separate, small battery it could charge up that you could charge your phone off of?

Well either way...Here is what i discovered.

The Good

Upon getting the hat, it felt nice wearing it. And it looks really cool, and well put together. The brim seems a little big and heavy when looking at it, but hardly noticeable when wearing.

That is about the only plus side to this hat, now for the bad...

As much of a good idea this is, it still lacks in being a good charger. I had put in front of the window in many different positions over an hour long period, and each time all it ever did was discharge my phone.

Again as good of an idea this is, i wanted to give this product the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe the window was blocking some of the sunlight causing inefficient charging, I decided to use it out over the course of a few hours outside while walking around with the hat in direct sunlight. However it yielded the same results and was left with a very fast discharging phone.

In the end it is better off using a portable usb power block or whatever you may call them, and again great idea, but definitely not worth it. If it ever improves i would be happy to try again

Unless it is actually in direct open sunlight it does not work and constantly clicks the charge off.

Cool concept. Average product.

Nice looking hat though.

Great gift for teens who run their phone batteries down...so all teens

My kids run the batteries down on their phones so quickly and replacing the batteries is no longer possible, but these hats are a much cheaper alternative to buying a whole new iPhone. Got two for my boys, they really like them, but I kind of regret it because it just means they can play on their phones for longer! Was worried having the USB cord hanging down would look funny, but it doesn't look any weirder than wearing headphones, so it is fine. You can't really mess with the brim, but I guess that flat thing is the style now anyway. Also, the hat is much lighter than I expected. Haven't had it for too long so I can't say much about the durability. One thing to keep in mind is that this won't charge the phone at the same speed as a regular wall charger would so you can't really have 5 draining apps open at once or else the charging will just kind of stagnate or drain slowly, but if you only do a few simpler things like browsing or listening to music then it works fine. Also, this hat really works best in clear weather, which seems kind of obvious. Would like to see a large brim sun hat version for women!
