Limited iPhone compatibility

This would be a really nice device, ideal for backpacking or hiking to carry an emergency charge for your phone, if it was compatible with iPhones. It is not!

While the USB connector is universal, the smaller connector for "charge in" is not an Apple lightning connector. Hence you can't use the cable supplied with this device to charge your iPhone. You can still make it work by bringing along your iPhone charger cable: USB into this device and the lightning connector into the iPhone. In addition, you then need to bring the device"�s charging cable, though, to be able to recharge it, since the Apple lightning connector won't fit the device. For a day hike and one time use this may not be an issue, if you are gone for longer trips where you expect multiple uses make sure you bring both cables - your iPhone"�s and the one supplied with this device.

In addition the charger cable supplied with this device is ridiculously short - a few inches.

That's unnecessarily cheap and stingy - what would it have cost to add maybe a feet of cable for the convenience of the customer? It would have made usage more flexible and practicable.

In summary, workable but clumsy- don't forget either cable or the device may quickly be useless on your trip. I assume the smaller connector in question may fit Androids? I am not familiar with the latter - loyal Apple user.

It would be a great idea to make two versions that fit either iPhone or Android and let the customer select which version fits their needs best. It would make for a more simple, streamlined use. And please lengthen the charging cable. It should only add pennies to manufacturing costs.

Otherwise it works well. Small, reasonably lightweight. Charging speed is a bit on the low side but ok and out in the wilderness you can't be picky unless you want to pack more weight.

It would have been 5 stars except for the inconveniences described.

The device works as promised, maybe a little bitter. I used it for a day while stuck in the airport and it was enough to keep my iPhone and iPad pro powered up while I watched movies and surfed mindlessly. I bought for all day bike adventures to charge my light and nav but I see it has lots of potential for it's size.

A staple for camping but it's also perfect for nights out, day trips, road trips, baseball games, boating, concerts and anytime your phone or gear is at risk of power zapping from taking too many photos or playing music. I hate the thought of my phone dying when i'm out and now i dont worry! Reliable and fast, weatherproofed very nicely, compact like a tube of lipgloss! Highly recommend.

I gave the charge away as a gift, but I have owned multiple BioLite lights/devices and they are always made with quality. I run with a BioLite Mini every day, and it's withstood rain, snow, sleet, and heat; plus I've had it for 3 years now and the battery hasn't lost any life. Very impressed with this company and their products.

Stopped holding a charge a few months after light use (>30 cycles). I keep my li-ion batteries between 20-90% for longer durability. Cells may be suspect

I have been waiting for a WELL MADE charger, I live an active life and my two boys have autism so they are constantly grabbing these from my wife and our tile floor IS NOT forgiving plus I work construction and hike. IF YOU DON'T like this charger the problem is probably you. It's a little expensive but worth what you get. I give you much deserved salute from Desert Storm veteran. Scouts Out 19D
