Good concept, mediocre (at best) execution

Good idea but the execution could use some work. I like the idea of always having a lock with the bike, plus not having to worry about locking up the seat (since the seat is the lock). There are no directions with this, but it isn't difficult to figure out. I installed mine on a Thudbuster seat post, hoping to use the locking seat to secure the front wheel; I also use an Abus Granite-X plus 6500 to lock the bike to a stationary object.

As was stated in a previous review, the seat is kind of wobbly when riding due to play in the locking bars and rivets. It does not provide a stable seating platform. In addition to being wobbly, the seat also is not very comfortable. On the Thudbuster, the seat mount rails on the seat's mounting cradle do not fit exactly into the rail cradle on the Thudbuster, unlike the previous seat. I can tighten everything down, but the seat mount rails are slightly wider than standard.

To this point I am not pleased with this and probably would not purchase again or recommend it again. I will have to try it on some other seat posts to see if it will mount better and be more stable. I really do not want to give up the cushioning that the Thudbuster provides, but I also would like to have the simplicity of having the lock integrated into the seat. I have given this two stars, but would probably give it 1 1/2 stars if that option were available. As was also mentioned in a previous post, you have to destroy th packaging to get the seat out, so you really cannot repackage it to send it back.

I wanted to like this seat but I just couldn't get used to the loose feel of the brackets. Each rivet has play (movement) to allow the bracket to unfold and be used as a locking device. So, your sitting on several rivets, with an accumulation of play causing too much movement to feel comfortably secure. You feel like you're on a teeter totter, the seat rocking under your butt while peddling.

Very quick and easy to use. I have ridden for 4+ hours in comfort on it. Seems very sturdy (no one has tried to mess with it yet). I have gotten many comments about how nice it looks on my bike and the convenience is unbeatable.

This is amazing, the seat feels great and so handy to have the lock available. Also there have been a lot of seat thefts in this area, solves that issue also. Ordered a 2nd one for the other bike.

Wanted to love it but the bracket assembly is too tall, especially if you have a suspension seat. Sadly I returned the unit.

Lock appears good quality and is silver rated. I don't yet have my bikes so cannot comment on ease of use, length, etc. Case is too small, and great pulling force is needed to remove lock. I think this would be almost impossible to do when case is mounted on bike. Warranty is technically useless as package containing lock must be virtually destroyed in order to remove lock (read warranty to see this would be unacceptable). Website does not post negative reviews and basses their 5-star perfect rating on 35 reviews (rather than on most other sites where ALL reviews are posted).

I purchased the Seatylock for an upcoming biking trip with my family. First of all, this was a killer price, comparable and even cheaper to your local big box store, and had insanely fast shipping! I took into consideration of buying a new lock and saddle, but the comfort of knowing my saddle and lock would always be there was enough to get me to purchase. The Seatylock came as pictured with keys, the saddle, and a wrench. Really nice packaging. Also the shipping on the product was extremely fast, I was really impressed with that especially since I was pressed for time with my upcoming trip being only a couple weeks away when I ordered this product. The seat is super comfortable and the lock is extremely easy to install. Literally so easy that my 13 year old tried it on her bike. I can also tell that this product is high quality and will not rust in the rain. Just an all around well built product.
