I bought this for use on PC with iRacing and Project Cars and I'm very happy with my purchase- granted I got a really good deal thanks to Amazon's mysterious price fluctuations. The box arrives in a discreet outer carton. It looks like it's provided by Thrustmaster since the only markings, aside from shipping labels and tamper seals, is some small print that reads "T300 GT US". The inner box arrived in good condition with only minor wrinkling around one corner which is inevitable shipping a box at this size and weight. First use of the steering wheel and pedals reminds you this isn't plug and play. After mounting everything, you connect the pedals to the wheel, the wheel USB to the PC, and plug into power. Next head to support.thrustmaster.com, select your wheel, download and install the driver. Once installed, you'll have a Thrustmaster folder in your start menu where you can update the firmware if needed, and access a control panel and test the functionality. I had a problem where no matter how many times I calibrated the wheel it was off center by about 20 degrees. The Thrustmaster FAQ section for this model addresses this is the first question and it's easy to fix. The Wheel. The wheel mounts to the base via "quick-change" mount. It aligns to the base with a cross shaped lug that's keyed to align the S-Video style connector. There's a collar that you turn to snug the wheel to the base, and then a screw at the 6 o'clock position that you snug to lock everything in place. That screw allows for very little feel so you just lightly snug it up. Any amount of excessive force and I can see it cracking the collar or stripping out at best. There has to be a better way Thrustmaster! The base has a table clamp that looks interesting but I didn't use it. I hard mounted mine using the two mounting holes on the underside that uses two M6 bolts- which are not included. Thrustmaster warns not to thread your mounting hardware any more than 12mm into the base. Without knowing how thick your mount is, including proper length hardware would impossible. I got two bolts for $0.55 from a hardware store. The wheel has an outside diameter of 11". It's smaller than I was hoping for but fine. The wheel has a molded hard rubber surface with simulated perforations. It's very grippy but the thing I really dislike is the mold seam that runs around the center of the inner circumference. The mold seam in the upper corner of the horizontal spokes really irritate the inside of your thum

Awesome Wheel

I am a racing enthusiast and I was looking for a replacement for my g25 steering wheel that went belly up. I really liked the g25 and although mine died, 6+ years of heavy usage were decent enough that I considered sticking with Logitech. I'm glad that I didn't. One day I saw that the Thrustmaster 300RS GT was on sale and I jumped on it. The 300RS GT is a Cadillac among beaters. 1080 degrees of motion, awesome peripherals (Yes, get the TH8A, you will not regret it.), the force feedback feels like the real deal and the movement of the wheel is extremely fluid. Some people complained about the pedals not being good enough... about 5 months of heavy usage and they are awesome... and just to make thing better my g25 looked like a toy, this one also looks and feel like the real deal.

Pros:
- Great range of motion
- Sturdy construction
- Bang for your buck
- Several enhancing peripherals available.

Cons:
- Not necessarily a con but the paddles rotate with the steering wheel, although some cars are like that, I prefer static paddles. Did not knock a star for it because it excels at everything and this is a preference more than a failure.

Other thoughs:
- The force feedback is very strong. If planning on running it for hours at the time I strongly recommend it dropping it to at least 50%. Running at a 100%, 20 minutes feel like an hour, if you know what I mean.

Amazing until it stops working

Bought this to replace my 20 year old Logitech MOMO racing wheel. Once I finally got the drivers (Thrustmasters site was down for some reason) and installed everything I loaded up Project Cars 2 and gave it a go. The wheel worked great! The force feed back is very strong and I could finally feel everything from the bumpy curbs to the tires loosing grip. The pedals worked well too. They are really big and made of metal. They come with a brake mod you can install if you want that increases the force you need to apply the brakes. One downside with the pedals, compared to the Logitech MOMO, is that they slide all over the place on the carpet. I had to put a heavy weight behind them to keep them from sliding off every time I hit the brakes. The clamp that holds the wheel on is very finicky and compared to the Logitech MOMO is terrible. The MOMO had three claps on each side of the wheel which held it securely. This has one big U shaped clamp that you tighten underneath it. The problem is, as you race, you are torquing the wheel back and forth. This causes the bolt that goes through the clamp to twist and bind and you can then not loosen it. I had to pry the wheel off my desk to free it and then I could loosen the clamp. There's also a cooling fan that will come on when you use the wheel for a little while. I didn't find it to be too loud, but it is noticable. The build quality of the wheel overall is great though. The wheel feels heavy and well built.

Ok, so why two stars? After about 15 days of use (maybe an hour or less per day) the wheel starting acting crazy. All of sudden it would just lock up and wouldn't turn anymore. Then it would suddenly be back to normal except it would feel really grindy, like gears mashing together. Then it would suddenly turn and lock again. It would hum loudly when this happened. I tried multiple games too (American Truck Simulator, Project Cars 2, and iRacing) but they all had the same issue. If I unplugged it and then re-plugged it in it would attempt to auto calibrate but would just turn one way and it sounded like the motor was trying to keep turning. It would hum like crazy and the cooling fan would come on. I looked online and did the bootloader fix and updated all the firmware and software, but it just kept locking up and humming. Really sad, the wheel was amazing when it was working, but I used it for about 15 days! And for pretty short sessions! How does something this expensive work so poorly! On the box it says that Thrustmaster stands for Passion, Quality, and Performance. I think they should remove the "Quality" part. Really disappointing. Returning it to Amazon and getting the Logitech G29 with the shifter.

I would listen to the other reviewers on here. The quality is just not there on this thing which is a shame, but for the large cost you should consider a different wheel.

This was defective right out of the box!

I should have trusted the bad reviews a little more, but seeing some of the internet posts from 2015-2016 I thought maybe the company would have fixed the problem by now. Seems they don't care. $400 is a lot of money to pay for something that will only work for a few days.

I guess one could say that my new problem is my fault because I purchased a second wheel rather than going through the expense and hassle of having them fix the first one. I had it TWO MONTHS and once again something inside broke. Every time the wheel is turned to the left a cracking noise is heard and through the course of one lap the center position goes off by 20 degrees. This time the thing is under warranty, so I sent them an email one month ago and have yet to receive an RMA. They want a video of the event as it happens, but I refuse to go purchase a cam just to produce a film. I guess they're planning on stalling for the entire year until the warranty is up. DO NOT buy one of these poor quality wheels unless you want to waste your time dealing with the joke they call the customer service department.

UPDATE 8/17/2019: Still have not received the replacement yet my money has been gone for over a month now.

The wheel is great but sadly i had to bury it at such a young age. RIP. Died so young at just 17 days old.

Actual issue: no longer receives power. No light indictators, no calibration upon plugging in to pc. nothing. dead dead dead.

Update: amazon customer service also 1 star out of 5 Actually 0 stars on this one.

Replacement would take a month even though I could buy it again right now and would come next week. Rep via chat told me to cancel the replacement and order it again... for $125 more. That rep told me she was calling me to better assist me when I said I would file a charge back and bbb complaint.

Got a call from an unsuspecting different rep who had no idea who I was or what my issue was. This rep said sorry nothing I can do that's the standard shipping. A month! I said I was being connected to be better assisted which I was not being assisted at all. I quote her response "that rep screwed you and shouldn't have said that" I was floored and asked to be connected to someone who can help me.

Next rep made it slightly better even though I no longer have a working wheel. Good thing I have an awesome racing rig that can collect dust until I figure this out on my own.

Broke after just three months of very light use.

This broke on me after three months of very light use. Like I used it less than 10 times. I bought a Logitech G29 as a backup wheel. I'm hesitant to go back to the thrust master now that they've fixed it and returned it to me because the G29 is doing very well. I own both, I think the thrust master is a little smoother on the resistance but I have not had one problem with the G29 and that counts for a lot with me. I'm very loyal to things that keep working.

I bought the T300 RS GT after owning an old Logitech Driving Force Pro (note--not a DFGT, but a Driving Force Pro, which is even older and was for the PS2).

Of course, Logitech now makes much better wheels, and tech has moved on. Either way, my first impression going from that wheel to this was like going from a toy (or a game) to something that only an adult would purchase. The wheel is surprisingly heavy and sturdy. Personally, I don't mind the rubber surface, and it's very smooth. The force feedback is extremely strong and much smoother than gear driven systems. It's satisfyingly close to the sensation of driving a real car hard down a twister road, feeling the wheel get heavier as you encounter resistance in turns and under breaking.

The pedals are stiff, responsive, and surprisingly realistic. The feel of the brake pedal is tight and the conical brake mod absolutely gets the job done. Again, like the wheel, these yield a feeling like they do not belong in a children's toy room. The entire kit together bolted to my GT Omega wheelstand weighs in the ballpark of 50 pounds.

I have this paired with the TH8A and it's incredibly immersive. At the end of the day, I'm glad I decided to go with Thrustmaster. I have to admit I was a little reticent based on reading reliability horror stories online. And of course, only time will tell regarding the reliability of the products. But so far, they feel hefty, well made, and are all bringing me a ton of fun. I was tempted by the purported reliability of the G29 but ultimately felt like this just looked like way more fun.

This wheel is great! I had the logitech G29 before and couldn't get over the notchy feel of the wheel. So i returned it and picked up this wheel hoping for a smoother experience. Thats what I got! The force feedback is strong and "accurate" I have noticed that there is some slop when making quick direction changes. The pedals are solid as well and allow for some adjustability. I have the same issue with the clamp becoming stuck to my desk after playing for awhile but it's not too big a deal. Hopefully this wheel gives me lots of playtime into the future but I'm skeptical as there are so many reviews with wheels being inoperable only months into use. I've had mine for about 8 months and so far so good. I play about once a week for 2 or 3 hours. Not real heavy use, so take that for what it is.

Overall I'm happy with the purchase! Great wheel that is much better than the G29 counterpart in my eyes.

Dead after only 30 days

After one month, it just died. I had it attached to my PS4. I took a short break and when I came back, it was dead. I haven't had any response from the manufacturer, and in two days have not been able to find a solution to make my PS4 or my PC recognize the steering wheel.
