Works perfectly- if you know what you are doing.
by Expert_Review (5 out of 5 stars)

This device works exactly as intended, but... It's a mechanical device. If you don't know how to handle mechanical devices then you may have problems. You need to grab it with TWO hands. You need to muscle it into place while offering strain relief to the base. How do you do this? I can't help you here. Just find someone who has an understanding of working with mechanical devices that are not idiot proof. So, when you drop your iphone do you give it a 1 star rating because the glass broke??? Well, maybe you should. All I can say, that if handled properly, this device works perfectly. You can safely ignore all the 1 star ratings unless you think you can just grab this thing and shove it into position- it needs to be finessed. If you don't understand what I am saying you can just practice with a piece of stiff wire as I did when I was 8 years old. Are you smarter than an 8 year old? Good- then you should be able to figure it out. Just don't blame the device if you fail.

Exactly what I needed for ease of use.

I provide instructional how-to, jewelry-making videos and have been looking for a flexible arm strong enough (or adaptable enough) to hold my Sony FDR-AX33 cam. While I have a manfrotto tripod with extendable arm, its bulky and a beast and I wanted something easy to put away (I just tuck this behind my desk when not in use) since I work from my living room. It is JUST strong enough to hold the camera. It jiggles if the table is bumped, which is the only downside (I imagine this would be less of an issue for a lightweight gopro) but it allows me to move my hands freely and I appreciate the ease of use.

Quality product, sturdy, camera screw a bit annoying
by C. F. (4 out of 5 stars)

Good product, the arm is longer than expected, and much tougher/more solid. The clamp is also wider than expected, meaning I can actually use it on real tables. It provides a solid grip. The arm is tough to bend, it is very sturdy, which is a struggle but good because then there is no wilting or jiggling. There is a little tilting adjustment at the top which is nice, my one complaint is the screw for fastening the camera-- you have to put the camera on it and spin it around, then use the dial to tweak that last crank so it's really on there. Since the mount is directly fastened onto the arm, you can't get underneath and screw it on that way. Not the worst, just kind of annoying, but otherwise a quality product at a very reasonable price.

Too stiff and heavy to be useful
by MCP (1 out of 5 stars)
October 31, 2018

It is so stiff that it is impossible to adjust while clamped. The clamp will not support the torque required to adjust the arm. The clamp will not even support it in a static position if there is any torque from gravity, because it is so heavy. If you look at how deep the 'C' part of the clamp is, you can see this will be right on the edge of any support structure, and unless it is solid metal, you are likely to tear up the support structure before you can get enough grip to support the arm.

An arm this stiff might be suitable for certain heavy-duty applications, but even in that case, you would be let down by the design of the clamp.

What a terrible waste of weight and metal.

Strong, heavy material may be this products downfall for me
by Diana C (3 out of 5 stars)

This is kind of a pain to use. It doesn't really stay on whatever you mount it to and the swivel head doesn't tighten enough, as the camera will slowly drift down over thirty or so seconds. Perhaps it's user error.

Good arm, super cheap camera mount - broke twice.
by Robert Durff (2 out of 5 stars)
December 28, 2018

I've now gone through TWO of these, both have broken. The arm and base are solid. The camera mount is all plastic and broke with just a couple days usage. (It has multiple plastic pieces held together by plastic tabs.) I returned the broken one and now have a new one, we'll see how long that lasts. Update: 2nd one broke in the same way. If you move the camera around a lot, you will break the mount. I will be searching for an alternative.

Not made for a heavy camera
by Amy (5 out of 5 stars)
March 5, 2018

The clamp fits easily on the lip of my desk because the tightener is designed to work even when flush against a surface. (I'm finding other clamps do not have this feature). I was able to tighten it down plenty.

The arm is not super easy to adjust, but on the plus side it stays put. I'm using it with a very lightweight webcam (exactly as shown in the product photo) so it works great, but if you have a heavier camera you should look for a different item designed for that.

RUINED MY WEBCAM!! - Hard to move, damages easily
by Amazon Customer (1 out of 5 stars)
July 10, 2018

UPDATE: IT RUINED MY WEBCAM(3 USES)... THE METAL BROKE OFF INTO MY WEBCAM JUST TIGHTENING IT.. NOW I CANT USE ANY KIND OF MOUNT FOR MY WEBCAM. BASICALLY HAVE TO BUY A NEW CAMERA TO DO WHAT I WANT OR USE TAPE TO SECURE IT NOW! GREAT!! JUST GLAD IT DIDNT RUIN SOMETHING EVEN MORE EXPENSIVE.... GRRR....

Original: SO hard to move! My husband joked I can use it to exercise because I was straining just trying to bend it and I'm not a weak person. It is really a pain in the butt to move and so hard to bend it makes it hard to deal with. And it only bends in a few places unless you force it. Just trying to move the arm, the thing will come off of where it's mounted and we screwed it on very tightly. Also the material that wraps around it will ruin and come off the more bending you do with it. I can tell because it already started rupturing from where I moved it in a few spots and came with damage to the arm at the base like the material was rubbing off. So disappointed of how hard this thing is to move! I like sturdy, but this thing is ridiculous! We will be returning.

Absolutly better than I thought
by Javier Garcon (5 out of 5 stars)
June 23, 2019

If you shake the table it shakes but the reason why I am giving a 5 star is that the arm can hold a whole camcorder! It's the strongest adjustable arm I have ever owned and when I say strong I have to use force to bend it! That's the best ever I have ever invested in, I was so afraid after I bought this that it would droop over or slowly droop in time but nope it is extremely strong, only Negative I have I wish it was a foot longer! For the material and strength it can handle another three feet without bending. So if your reading this add another 8 to 12 inches so us folks can move it anywhere or around anything

Not a fan of the clamp
by Linda (3 out of 5 stars)
February 1, 2018

Not a fan of the clamp, kinda flimsy. It did not grip the table very well, but it is not a very thick edge table. Also found the bending capability of the flexible long arm to be much more stiff than I expected so it was not easy to change even a slight direction on it once I had it clamped down. I'll continue to look for another one.
