Having never ridden a longboard (or even anything other than a bicycle), I was reluctant to purchase a Boosted. However, in May I took the plunge and received my board in June. I immediately started riding it and found that it was incredibly easy! I use it as my main form of transport and have been able to get 8-10 miles of range on mixed terrain and with a weight of 140 lbs on "expert." As of today, I have logged 440 miles on my board and am shocked at how reliable and fun it is. There are a few things you need to know about it:
- The board is very flexible and the wheels are wide which makes it ride extremely smooth, even on NYC and NJ broken roadways
- Depending on location, the drive belts will need to be replaced every couple hundred miles; here in NYC/NJ I change mine every 200 miles and the brand to buy is ROMP 225-3M (or the Boosted ones)
- I haven't had to perform any service beyond the belts, but I do recommend buying an extra set of things before you need them since Boosted tends to run on low stock 24/7
- Buy a 3mm Hextip T-handle tool for repairing/replacing parts on the board
- If you plan on riding at night or in darker areas, buy a set of shredlights brand lights (these are specifically designed for the Boosted Board)
- Don't forget board shoes!

I've attached the things I've purchased to use with my board that I've mentioned (that are available on Amazon). I also have attached a link to a carrying case, hooks (for wall mounting), and a stand (if you don't want to wall mount). For the lights, just search for shred lights and be sure to get the Boosted bracket!

Better then Boosted?

I'm not ur typical longboarder...I'm heavy 200ibs and I'm old like 45! Never boarded in my life! Finally got one cause I was having a midlife crises and couldn't afford a Porsche 911. I have to say every positive review about this board is 100% correct. Been riding everyday for a month and love every minute. By far a quality purchase! With that said I'm wondering if there's other boards out there better and cheaper then the boosted? I'm looking at blink s, juice and m1. Great board price point is high but you get what u paid for right?

Dont hesitate, just get it!!!! Sooooo much fun!!!!

Ok, so I have only had this for a day, but I am amazed!!!! If it wasn't dark out, I would still be out riding the board. I haven't had this much fun in a long time and the looks you get from everyone around is pretty dope too. I am a 42 year old 210lbs and this thing pulls my ass around no problem!

I haven't ridden a skateboard in over 20 years....within 15 minutes I was up to pro mode zipping down the bike paths here in DC. Can't wait for the extended battery!!!!

This is the new eco friendly way to get around the urban areas for sure!!!

UPDATE!....I'm now over 200 miles on my board...I use it almost daily and love It!!! My wife was so jealous, that I ended up buying her one too!

Here are a few tips....buy a spare charger!!!!!

Go to flatlander3d.com and pick up the nose and tail guards!!!!!!!!

WEAR A HELMET at least!!!! It has saved my thick skull already and that was at less than 5mph with a fractured clavicle and a broken rib....this thing does over 20mph!!! I love the triple 8 sweat saver models.

If you want a perfect stand for you board for the hallway while charging at home, this is the best...It's called the "Top Stage Pro Universal Guitar Stand"...cheap and available on Amazon prime!

Find a bag to hold it on your shoulder or get a snowboard bag that allows you to strap it to you back...comes in handy as hell!

Even a Velcro sling for skateboards will work.

Again, buy a second charger to carry in your bag....

Another MUST have is a GOOD skate tool, a 4mm Allen key and a Philips screwdriver....

BUY EXTRA BELTS!!!!!! I keep an extra set per board. I hit 150 miles before a rock took a solid hit on the belt and it broke...thankfully had a spare!

Don't ride through water and try stay away from gravel at all costs....it will destroy the bottom of your board a few nicks at a time. Already had to flip the skid guards over( each guard can be flipped and reused)

Belts are easy to change...May even want to try removing one and reinstalling before your miles from home on the road when it does break.

Get used to people stopping you to talk about your board often...I have developed a "stare ahead and ignore" habit or I would never get where I want to go.

The board reacts better at moderate speed or high speed way better than creeping along...such as turning...

My wife has never ridden a skateboard in her life and finds it difficult to make turns at a few miles per hour...a little speed helps alot.

Is is used or reconditioned???
by M. Crider (3 out of 5 stars)

I just received my board about 10 minutes ago. Upon unboxing, it was visible see attached pics) that this board, or at least these components had been ridden. The wheels were new, and dusty, as if they had been sitting a shelf for a while, and did not appear to be ridden. Unfortunately, the battery case and ECU module had noticable dings. Additionally, after pairing the board to my phone, the stats stated that the unit had been ridden 8 miles.

I am not sure if this is a used model, a reconditioned return, or if the Boosted team just tested it heavily. It's clearly not a truly new/unused unit. The condition of the wheels vs the condition of the ECU and battery tells me it's a reconditioned open box item. (NOT exactly what was advertised).

I will update this later and report on performance.

Best Amazon purchase I've ever made.

In addition to riding this board, I also wake surf and snow board. After buying this Boosted Board, it's all I want to do anymore. It's more fun than wake surfing and snow boarding combined. The acceleration is incredible. The breaking is smooth and responsive. I just wish the battery lasted a little longer. About 5 miles is all I can get running at the 20mph setting. I'm already on the waiting list for the extended-life battery. This is exactly what I envisioned 25 years ago as a kid, wishing someone would build a board that I didn't have to push.

Speechless

Words can't describe the freedom, fun, and thrill while riding a Boosted Board! These reviews won't do much justice since they are just words... so I'll keep it simple, "drop the cash!"

That being said I was once a avid snowboarder who has since then hung it up. I've had little expriece on a skateboard (thanks to Tony Hawk and the 80's) and I jumped on the Boosted Board and never looked back! Easy set up out of the box... pair with remote, pair with iPhone, wear a helmet, and find some street!

Charging time is quick (Your iPhone will notify you when it's done), and the trigger remote rarely needs charging. About the only negative is when you are Boosting and you look down on the remote to see the last light blinking indicating you have about a mile left!

On a serious note, this thing is not a toy... speeds posted are speeds acquired! This ain't no Marty Mcfly PG 13 experience on a hover board. This is Mad Max with folks that have no sense when it comes to driving. That being said, keep your head on a swivel and protect ya head (I recommend the Bern Macon Helmet). Aside from that... best purchase I have made in YEARS! Hence my first Amazon review.

If you read to here... you already know your going to buy it, or your waiting for yours to be shipped. In either case pull the trigger (pun intended)!
100mi. Update: Once acclimated to the boards speed, turning axis, and overall feel you become one with the Board and Street! I've had to contact Boosted customer service and it's a 5 Star experience of which I have heard and can confirm. They walked me through belt retention which anyone can do and I was back on them skreets carving!

I have already used the Boosted Board for multiple transportation scenarios (dropping car off for oil change, visiting friends, or freestyle) and I have to say that I was surprised truly how far you can go! Keep in mind the extended battery from Boosted is due out soon and that will DOUBLE the range... mic dropped!

For those looking for accessories... without question I would recommend Flatlands-3D bash guards (see pics). Must have for those standing the board up and keeping the bamboo pristine!

flatland-3d.com

Accessory Update:

I would also recommend flatland skate tool (no I don't work for them) because I made the mistake of buying a skate tool from Zumiez (out of desperation) to find out that a traditional skate tool was not thin enough to fit through the motor and truck to reach the nut. Happy Boosting!

Stop Debating and BUY IT!
by Randall S. Donadio (5 out of 5 stars)

I know people say that a lot (my title), but I am not even kidding. I debated for the longest time if I should spend the money because it was expensive for a skateboard and my only regret is that I didn't purchase it sooner.

I have never skated in my life. In-fact, when I first got this thing I was petrified to go past the max speed in mode one! Nevertheless, it was ridiculously fun and amazing for commuting in a busy city like Brooklyn and NYC. Not even a week goes by and it's like suddenly something clicked. Suddenly I got on and it was like an extension of my feet. I started to get the feeling in my legs and feet where I needed to balance and carve. When I go faster I feel like I have full control. If you're worried, the fear goes away as you become more accustomed to using your board.

However, ALWAYS wear a helmet. I don't care what or who says anything. Not that anyone has EVER said anything about me wearing a helmet but I see kids online talking about them. I'm sorry, but you're a fool if you don't wear one. I am at the point where I would consider myself a good rider now. I haven't had it long but I pick up things like this fast. Even then, I almost had a few run ins with people walking and not paying attention and terrible drivers. I can only imagine after having it and using it every day for the foreseeable future.

Until then though, this is simply one of the best and most entertaining things I have ever purchased.

Perfect for commuting
by P. Mizzle (5 out of 5 stars)

I've had my boosted for two weeks as of this writing, and have just over 140 miles on it. It's holding up great so far, and it's been great for commuting to work which is about 5 miles away. I can make it on the standard range battery just fine if I "hypermile" by running it on expert mode and making sure to do some light regenerative braking on the downhills versus just coast to terminal velocity. It was because of this that I bought the extended range battery and now just run it flat out the whole way.

I don't regret having the standard range battery, as it is under the capacity limit for flight carry-on which I plan to do in the coming months. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this board's quality and capability. It's expensive, sure, but worth it imo.

I had an issue with the charging brick whining when I first got the board. I hit up customer support and they immediately sent me a new brick without any hassle. Customer service is indeed top notch!
