Fun, not functional

My son picked these out to give to his dad for Christmas. They're a fun item, but not very functional.

The way the claws are shaped makes it hard to grab things out of the oven since human fingers aren't the same shape as claws. My fingers go almost to the end, but the rounded claw part sticks out extra. So either you'd have to have really large hands, or for me I end up grabbing partway down and having the claw point hit the food on the baking dish.

This appears to be a SET, however it's not... It is two of the same oven mitts. Very attractive however you can tell they are not a set because there is a small black copyright on one side of each mitt, if you lay them down as the picture shows (left hand and right hand) one of them has the copyright visible. They are simply the same oven mitts... Which isn't terrible but it would have been cheaper for me to buy two separately. Still awesome looking!

Great halloween costume!

Got these for my boyfriend so that he could fulfill his dream of becoming a lobster for halloween last year and they were a mad hit! Not only were they extremely comfortable and affordable but they have now been utilized as oven mitts, per their main purpose I suppose. For that activity they work fairly well for the basic tasks but watch out for that pointer claw! It really likes to dip into whatever you're trying to grasp. Overall, we have been completely satisfied with these adorable claws.

I ordered this as a gift. A gag gift really, but it's piratical right? Anyway, our family is known for larger than normal hands. These oven mitts still fit, but they are kind of snug at the thumb and pointer finger gap, seem shorter-ish, and additionally seem kinda thin. No burns yet! Definitely a conversation starter though.

Aesthetic over functional

They're cute but it seems they've foregone functionality over aesthetic. They're kind of annoying to wear and it's tough to handle things while wearing them. The mitts are curved so your fingers end up kinda squished in the front and it reduces maneuverability somewhat.

I'm using these for halloween but wanted something that would be useful after the fact. I'll replace my pot holders with these once halloween is over.
