This is a wonderful invention!

I used this to calm my hyper neurotic schnauzer during grooming. Poor little guy was abused by a groomer when he was young, and has been VERY difficult to groom ever since. I've long been on the lookout for anything that will help calm him. Can't take him to a groomer anymore, because he gets so stressed out. Grooming can take hours because he is so nervous. This tool was amazing. I was able to use the electric trimmer to do his belly, back and hind quarters quickly with no drama! Going to try it with my other schnauzer during his bath. My advice is to use just a little peanut butter or wet dog food at a time. Very thin layer. That way the dog really has to work for it and doesn't fill up and get bored. This is the best grooming aid ever! It's a wonderful, wonderful thing!!!!!!!

Makes nail trimming easy!

I just finished cutting and dremeling toenails on my three dogs with their total cooperation, thanks to this product. I just put squirt cheese in between the nubs of the slow treater, laid it on the grooming table, and the dogs were happily licking away while I worked on their feet. No pulling away, no second person to hold the dog, just me, some cheese, and the slow treater. I'm a fan!!!

Dog destroyed it in seconds, and it did not destract her in bath
by N. Levy (1 out of 5 stars)

Our dog hates baths so we bought this hoping to distract her so we could bathe her more easily. We put a little peanut butter in there and got her to lick it while we were just holding it. That was fine. It does NOT serve as a distraction. What happened was she was every bit as much of a hyper, spastic, flailing dog, and managed to back herself into it several times so she ended up with peanut butter all over her in addition to what we were already trying to wash off. And the thing is impossible to clean because the rubber bristly bits are so close together. Finally we stuck it on our glass slider, hoping the dog would do the cleaning for us now that the bath was over. She ate it. Not all of it, but enough to be concerning. The thing is, if you have to use a strong smelling smear to get the dog to be interested in it, I think they have a hard time understanding what part is edible. We left the dog alone with it for all of about 3 minutes when this happened. And sure, it's all fine and well to say that this should be used with supervision, but if it can't be left alone with the dog for THREE minutes then it's unsafe. Period

Bath Time Goes from Woes to Yeahs
by book nerd (5 out of 5 stars)

We have a 30 pound lab mix rescue who hates water. Usually she shakes and tries to escape the bathtub. With this product she got distracted and stayed in place. We put peanut butter in it and froze it so that it would take longer. Having the nubs helps slow her down too. It stayed in place on our tub with the suctions. Basic product but works great.

Keeps her busy for 15-20 minutes
by Lo Faszt (4 out of 5 stars)

Kaylee gets most of the peanut butter out pretty quickly, but spends ages working to get the remnant out from between the nubs. As such, I us less PB when loading and make sure it's spread all through the back of it. Tried it for bathtime, but it was her first (new rescue) and she was too freaked to even notice it. Now that she survived the first bath without ill effects, I'll try it again next time.

Great product

I have to give my dog Epsom baths because she is very allergic to grass. She's part Portuguese Water Dog, and she has webbed feet. This makes it harder to wipe her paws clean after coming inside from a walk. The Epsom salt baths are just to cover her paws with water, and she has to stand there for 10 minutes. This great dispensing mat makes it easy to keep her in the tub for the full 10 minutes.

Best Grooming Trick/Treat!
by Arielle (5 out of 5 stars)
November 13, 2018

Really the best thing for grooming your dog! We use this for the bath, drying, brushing, giving eye drops, etc. Has really changed our experience with grooming our dog who used to hate baths and he's so much happier too! Only thing is to make sure you watch your pup the full time while licking peanut butter or whatever you put on the slow feeder... We left him after grooming to finish up his peanut butter and he bit a piece of the plastic off and ate it. We learned for next time! Highly highly recommend!

Keeps dog busy
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)

Tried this with our lab puppy when needing to sweep and vacuum the floors. This kept her busy for a while so I could clean in peace! I filled it with peanut butter and placed it on the refrigerator door. She loves it!!! Hadn't tried it while bathing as she is a lab and loves the water. Also, used this when we had company to keep her busy so she won't be such a pest wanting someone to play with her. So far, she loves it. I don't use it every day just when I need to keep her busy so I can get something done.

Total Game Changer
by Brittany (5 out of 5 stars)
August 8, 2018

Bathing and grooming my five month old Alaskan malamute/husky has always been a bit of a struggle. The sight of the nail clippers, and grooming brush were enough to send her running. I can honestly say that the slow treater has been a total game changer when it comes to bath-time & grooming. It's simply amazing how a single tablespoon of peanut butter spread into the slow treater can keep my pup so distracted that I'm able to fully wash, dry, brush, and clip her nails without her even noticing!!!

So versatile

I love this, it's the second one we bought. I found the first one at a dog show and was a little skeptical, but thought we'd try it because I have two pups afraid of baths and who hate getting brushed. It has worked great with peanut butter and fat free yogurt. I will say the key is to freeze them, hence the need for two...but also be careful with the suction cups, they work very well, but my puppy bit the corner off one, it still works but looks silly
