HAVEN Connect is a Bluetooth enabled smart lock that installs under the bottom of your door for strong, reliable home security. Using the HAVEN mobile app, you can control HAVEN Connect remotely to secure your home. Total access. Total Security. The Gateway Hub along with the mobile app will allow you to Connect from anywhere, without the Hub, you will need to be within Bluetooth Low Energy range to operate the lock. Will Haven Fit My Door – The Nickel Test: HAVEN is 0. 8 inches high and should fit in the clearance path of most modern doors. A standard USD Nickel can be used to gauge the gap perfectly. Take a nickel, stand it on its end and make sure that it can pass under your door. *some resistance against the rubber door sweep is acceptable* If there is a gap above the nickel during the nickel test you can always purchase a riser. You can add up to 3 total risers. One comes in the box (1/8 inch thick). Additional risers can be purchased. You may need to buy longer screws if you need more than 3.

• EASY TO INSTALL: HAVEN can easily be installed onto hardwood, tile, concrete, vinyl or any hard flat surface. The average customer install time reported is 14 minutes. A template and easy to follow instructions are included. The HAVEN is installed with 6 Philips head screws to attached the lock to your floor. The locking wedge gate cover is removed allowing the installer access to the 6 installation holes in the steel baseplate. Installation support videos can be found online.
• Will HAVEN Fit My Door? Take the Nickel Test: HAVEN is 0.80 inches tall and should fit between the bottom of your door and the top of your floor. To test this, take a 5 cent USD nickel, stand it on its side and place on the floor in the path of the inswing door, make sure your door will pass over the nickel. If a gap is present, additional 1/8 inch wide risers are available. (One riser included in the box also works as installation template).

I never ever ever write bad review, never! But this product pissed me off too much.
***Watched all videos***
1. The video never said what size drill bit to use. I assumed I used the right one because the screws when in smoothly. But that could have been part of the problem.
2. The real problem, which is so absurd, the screws are waaay too cheap! I mean, c'on this is a quality product that requires multiple times to be taken out whether for recharging or if you want to remove it because of relocation, whatever it is. WHY WOULD YOU HAVE CHEAP SCREWS?!?!?

So here is what happened, I installed it, 2 screws went bad right off the bet, then I had to remove it because it wouldn't close, even though I tested it! And here is when it got from bad to worst. I couldn't unscrew it because these damn cheap screws went flat! So what do I do? Well I spend hours dealing with it to the point where I thought about breaking the whole thing off. Finally took them off but now I have a screw sticking off the floor which I have to figure out how to remove and holes I need to fill up. Not to mention I am probably getting screwed (irony) not getting all my money since I bought the remote. I mean seriously, why would you place cheap screws for this product why why why?!?!? I was so exciting about having this product and you ruined it with these cheap screws.

Revised: doesn't anyone else wonder why over 75% of the positive feedback are non verified Amazon purchases. Think about it people. I smell a rat!!

Beautiful Looking, however the piece that actually pops up to prevent the door from swinging in is not nearly as strong as it appears. One or two stong kicks and the intruder is now in your home looking you in the eyes. I found cheaper stronger alternatives. I received mine as a gift. Returning!

Haven Lock

Installation: I attempted to install my Haven Mech a few weeks before receiving my Haven Connect. What I noticed from the start was that the Mech was slightly too short for my door threshold (About an inch) when in the 'lock' position. I purchased a few spacers from Haven Lock, which they were kind enough to reimburse me the cost of the spacers!

My spacers and Haven Connect arrived the same day, so I packed the Mech away and started work on the connect. During installation, it took five spacers to hit the bottom of the door. This was hardly an issue as I'm sure a milled 2x4 probably would have done the same job.

The installation process took maybe 45 minutes in total, which only required a tape measure and drill.

I've been using the Haven Lock application for seven days now. So far the app works as intended, I have not noticed any bugs or issues with connecting to the haven via Bluetooth. I am slightly worried that my Haven Connect batteries' will die while I'm away from home leaving me without a means to get back into the house. I'm not sure if haven added a warning in the app to tell you when your batteries are low.

There are some features or functionalities of the app that I would like some further and more in-depth explanation on. The Bluetooth functionality means that you should not be able to lock your Haven Lock from anywhere unless it uses crowd data and is connected to another device such as your security system or phone back at home.

Those minor questions aside, the Haven Connect and Haven Mech appear to be of a higher quality. I believe that my door or its hinges will break will before either of the Haven devices.

I highly recommend this product and will also be purchasing two keyfobs in the near future. I am looking forward to seeing a Haven Connect with Wifi capabilities.

Best door blockade on the market

My wife and I were concerned for our home security. A few months back somebody walked off the main road near our house and into our garage. Nothing was stolen and they only needed help with a broken car. However it got us to thinking how fast that incident occurred and what could happen with somebody less peaceful. We needed something easy to put into operation, easy to disable in case of emergency, strong, and good looking. We researched several electronic home security systems, they alert something is wrong, does little to prevent the bad people from entering the home. I researched door blockades and found the Haven. We decided the start with the Haven Mech, to ensure it is what we desire. I received our Haven in the mail last week with plans to install on the weekend. The picture is our front door, wood floor over concrete slab. The wood is only ½" thick, not nearly enough to properly secure the Haven to the 2" hole depth recommended by the manufacturer. I purchased some 3/16" by 1 ¾" TAPCON screws, roughly the same size as the wood screws supplied by the manufacturer, along with a drill bit suitable for the concrete floor. Here I must caution you, if you do not have a hammer drill, don't try to install by yourself in a concrete or tile floor. I happen to have a professional hammer drill, so installation was performed by me. I also added the door kick plate on the inside of the door to help reinforce the door if a break in were ever to be attempted. The Haven comes with a template to mark where to drill the holes in the flooring. Very easy to lay out, mark mounting screws location, then move for drill production work. The hammer drill took only a few minutes to drill all 6 holes down below the 2" recommended depth for install. The ramp that raises has 4 small #1 Philips head screws that has to removed, then the ram top cover slips off to expose the install locations for the 6 screws. They are located below the nylon strap, take care not to damage the strap during installation. I managed to do this easily, so almost anyone could. I tightened all 6 screws, reinstalled the ramp cover and four screws. Then tested the installation by having the Haven engaged and opening the door. The door kick plate hit on the Haven and the door only opened about 1", not even enough to clear the door jamb. I have also installed longer screws in the door hinges and striker plate, this makes those areas much stronger than the ¾" screws that are normally installed by the home builder. We are confident that nobody is coming through that door easily, if at all. We choose the Haven Mech for this door as we would never try to open it from the exterior. Our next purchase will be the Haven Connect for a door we wish to secure from the inside and open from the exterior as needed. We could not be happier with our purchase and the install of the Haven.

Feeling Much Safer Now Thanks To HAVEN Connect!

Across the hall from me lives a bipolar man who rarely takes his meds but oftentimes invites in drug dealers, hookers, thieves, lowlifes and other side show acts. This clown-car of chaos has woken me up to screaming fights, banging on my door, people passed out in the hallway and a laundry list of nefarious activities too long to include here.

While I was happy that the HOA installed a camera so I could monitor the madness from the safety of my couch and check to see when the coast was clear to come and go, I still felt very uneasy. A camera is great to take pictures, but it can't prevent someone from entering your home. I searched everywhere for a home security product that would give me peace of mind and also be unobtrusive. A friend mentioned HAVEN to me and I checked out their website. This was exactly what I was looking for! It was easy to install (they have great YouTube videos and a helpful FAQ page to answer all of your questions) and it blends in -- HAVEN looks like it's part of my threshold. I was also very happy to see that it is Made in America by veterans.

It has allowed me to sleep easy at night...I'm feeling much safer now thanks to HAVEN Connect!

It is to low to install

I can't install this device because my door is 2 inches higher than the floor. Besides sometimes it is going down without pushing on the pad and sometimes can't go down until i push the locker down.

Our heavily wooded neighborhood attracts opportunistic thieves, e.g., posing as delivery drivers and then nonchalantly checking for open doors. Haven is the one thing that has made us feel safer, especially when we travel. We were able to install it on glass French doors as well as in our basement. The sleek, black profile means it doesn't compromise our interior design either. Very easy to install. Highly recommend this product.

I bought a connect version for my front door which I go in and out most of the time. Got it connected to the key fob and then used the Haven app for my iPhone, which connected easily. For the basement and back door, I didn't want to spend the extra money for the connected version, so I bought two Mech versions and just manually lock it. Definitely feel safer at night knowing it would be pretty hard to get in my house! Like the product so much I think I will buy some for my rental properties.

Just got my New Haven lock delivered. I saw this at my friend's house and was impressed at how well it keeps Intruders out. I'm eager to install it, and we were surprised by how heavy duty it is. What do you expect from a veteran owned company, right? I like that when installed that's it, no monthly monitoring fees! This is a great Security solution.
