Awesome but some quality issues on earlier ones

This is my third Ember mug. I first got a white one a year ago for Christmas. Within a couple weeks the white paint on the bottom inside started to peel off. I contacted customer service and had a free new mug within a week!

This one lasted for a year (2 fills a day M-F) and then the paint again started to slowly chip away. Also one of the charging pins in the coaster got stuck down and I needed to improvise with tin foil to make a charging connection.

But when it works, this thing is great! I usually take about half an hour to drink a cup and it stays nice and hot at 140 deg. Battery life is OK, if I don't charge it between drinks, it may be empty after an hour or so. The app is pretty nice and I can check the battery status and temperature easily.

Now I got the copper one which looks awesome! No issues after 2 months and I hope it stays that way.

Omg, I adore this. Was a Mother's Day gift from my hubby. I am SO fussy about the temperature of my coffee, and I have 2 young kids. So it always seems like the coffee is too hot or too cold and I just endlessly heat it in the microwave. I have an Ember travel mug for work, but for whatever reason I really don't like it for home. I just really like using a traditional mug. This gives me that mug feeling AND keeps it the perfect temperature the whole cup. It makes me stupid happy EVERY DAY. Sometimes it's the little things....LOVE IT!

Love my ember, this is my second one. It's hard to use any other coffee or tea cup after having one of these. I highly recommend these to any coffee or tea lover.

I LOVE my Ember mug! My days of running to the microwave to reheat my coffee/tea are over!

I've talked many people into buying one by regaling them with the merits and joy of a perfect temperature cup of coffee/tea all the way to the bottom of the cup. I should sell these things!

The major glitch is that the temperature randomly reverts to the preset 130 degree temp (which is too cool for me) so you have to check the temp at the start of each cup. There is no way of resetting your own personal ideal drinking temp. The company says it is working on it, but so far not happening. In fairness, the temperature does readjust quickly when you change it, but it means you have to have your phone nearby to check the temp at the start of each cup.

The price is high, which is a drawback to gift giving. It's a bit heavy, but not terribly so. It would be nice to have a USB port for recharging instead of a docking station. The charge usually lasts about 40 mins.

But even with these drawbacks, it's So lovely to have a perfect temperature cup of coffee/tea from beginning to end!
