I'm one of those people that don't ever leave reviews but rely on other people writing them to make my decision on buying. I came looking for reviews and opinions but didn't find any, so I decided it was time to leave one. And it's going to be a long one.
I went ahead and pulled the trigger. I'll start by saying this thing is expensive. It seems nicely made with quality material, but considering the other coolers available in this price range, it's expensive. It's special though. Tiny footprint and easy to transport make it perfect to travel with. I just spent a week in OBX and used this cooler every day and on the drive. I'm from southern MD and we have 10 ounce beers that come in the slim can like all of the recently popular Truly, White Claw, etc. In the pic you can see a snug fit but it will hold 2 layers of 7 and probably 3 pounds of ice. That's not a lot of ice and it kept it all day. I ran out of cans and switched to long neck bottles. It held 5 right side up and then 4 upside down on top of them. Temps between 70 and 80 all week. Night time rolled around and we would reload and hit the beach for a night walk. The sling function for this really shined. Had empty hands to carry a flashlight and pick things up. The zipper is pretty hard to get open still, but not impossible. Definitely need to use 2 hands though. One holding the cooler and the other pulling the zipper. It does leak a minor bit if it's laying over, but I didn't notice anything leaking on the move. It seemed like the ice lasted longer leaving it standing up anyway. We're going camping at Harpers Ferry in 3 weeks and will be doing some hiking and other outdoor stuff and I can't wait to see how it does. I bought the 1lb ice packs to go with it but haven't carried food in it yet and prefer ice on my drinks. They are a perfect fit. Overall I only have 2 minor complaints. The price is a little high, but after using it, I would consider it worth it. The other is the zipper being so hard and not being waterproof. Neither of them worth taking a star away. I would give this cooler a recommendation for sure.
