Suicide Squad: Behind the Scenes
The officially authorized companion to Suicide Squad, the eagerly anticipated film from Warner Bros. Pictures based on the DC Comics antihero team. Along with photos of the cast and crew, this lavish full-color official tie-in book will contain behind-the-scenes stories and images, removable items, and more, making it a must have keepsake for every fan!
They are the worst of the worst, a task force of the most dangerous people on the planet—incarcerated Super Villains unleashed to do some good. Assembled by U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller and armed with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, the Squad is sent on a seemingly impossible top-secret mission: eradicate a powerful, enigmatic threat.
But once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability, will the members of the Suicide Squad choose to die trying—or decide it’s every man for himself?
The blockbuster movie has a star-studded cast that includes Will Smith as Floyd Lawton/Deadshot, Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Viola Davis as Amanda Walker, and many more.
Special interactive and removable items in the book include a blueprint of Belle Reve prison, replicas of letters from Deadshot’s daughter to her father, a Joker playing card and Joker temporary tattoos, a poster of the Suicide Squad, 6 postcards, a 16-page dossier and much more.

Suicide Squad takes the DC film universe in a new and different direction by focusing on the bad guys and their stories. I have mixed feelings about the film, but overall enjoyed the experience. This companion book, "Behind the Scenes with the Worst Heroes Ever", is absolutely wonderful. It's a hybrid of a making-of journal and an art book. There's a ton of information about the movie, the cast of characters, and the filmmaking process; and it's supplemented with a bunch of imagery (including a healthy dose of concept art and set photos).
Characters are front and center in the book. The text discusses the importance of each role, casting the part, and the actor's process in finding the character. The most interesting aspect is seeing the various design concepts and costume sketches - it's fascinating to see how the look of the characters (Harley Quinn and the Joker in particular) evolved over time and eventually got to their finished form. The book devotes a fair number of pages to all members of the Squad, including the more secondary characters such as Slipknot and Captain Boomerang.
My favorite portion of the book is the section "All Inked Up", which discusses the importance of the tattoos to the characters and shows in high detail the tattoos that appear on the Joker, Harley, and Diablo. The book also provides a closer look at the weapons of the film; whether a gun, a bat, or a boomerang, it's detailed in this book.
Much like the Dark Knight Manual, this book is made even more interesting by the inclusion of various artifacts inserted throughout the book (some can be removed). The full list of inserts is below.
List of Inserts
- Waller's confidential files on the Squad members
- Zoe's letter to Deadshot (removable)
- Belle Reve Poster 12x14"
- Diablo's Pressure Chamber blueprints (removable)
- CIA Report on the June Moore incident in Peru
- Joker tattoos (removable)
- Joker playing card (removable)
- Dr. Quinzel's Arkham Staff ID

This book is awesome. I was ready for it to be like any other book based on behind the scenes of a big movie, but one cool thing that set it apart from the others was the cool props included. Within the first few pages there's the confidential files of the Squad members, there's letter's from Deadshot's daughter, & postcards of each member amongst other cool things. If you're into this stuff then you probably already own this book, but if you're hesitant, I def say check it out!

I was so excited to get this along with the Movie Novelization in the mail a few weeks ago. I enjoyed it and I treat it pretty much as a keepsake. The pictures and the drawings for costume ideas and character looks are amazing. Everything that is mentioned in the advertisement for this Behind the Scenes book is in here and MORE. I don't want to spill too much, but trust me...you'll love it if you loved the characters as they are portrayed in the movie. There are PLENTY of posters, post cards and other goodies in this book. I'll add a few pictures but trust me....this is only a TINY few of what is offered :)

This is an excellent companion for those interested in the production of the film. It's full of set photos, behind the scenes perspectives and anecdotes, and detailed levels of information regarding its design. There's also extensive bios of the fascinating characters, including Wallers own Intel and classified files that add to the lore and experience of this great film. Great souvenir and gift for someone who loves the film!

If I could give it more than five stars I would. Like the movie? You must own this book. Beautiful colored pictures, design art and character concept art. It comes with so many little extras. Harleen's Arkham I.d. ,Diablo's cell schematic,Deadshoot's personal mail so much more. You also get a small criminal biographies on the squad as well as flags. However if your looking for a movie book filled with unused set designs, costume designer design, set concept ,ext. This is not the book for you this is more of a fan/ behind-the-scenes extra book. On the book itself is gorgeous but handle with care it could have used more sowing on the binding .

My daughter found this book at the military base library she went too. The book was in GREAT condition and had most of the inserts still attached. My daughter rented it with excitement. Unfortunately I had to RE RENT that book for about 6 additional weeks. Buying the book for $25 actually ended up saving me gas money (haha) and any late fee's if I forgot to re-rent it lol. The book ended up having MORE inserts than additionally thought. Brought some funko-pops with this and it was her favorite Christmas present. Good gift for a teen that is a fan of the movie :)
Definitely something more enjoyable than the movie

This book definitely is a treat for anyone loving the DCEU, or Suicide Squad in general. It also gives you a lot more of the Joker and the other characters within the squad. The trinkets you get included in the book are awesome, too. Included you have the letters from Deadshot's daughter, the Joker's calling card, temporary tattoos of the Joker's designs, as well as in detail designs of Harley Quinn and Diablo's tattoos.
Great for true Suicide Squad fans!

I know everybody didn't love this film, but I did! That being said, this book is great for fans who want an inside look at all the characters (even Slipknot.) I love the interviews with the cast, and the on-set photos and concept art are outstanding!
Kindle update made it unreadable

After the recent kindle update it made this book unreadable only because with the small writing, you used to be able to zoom the page in and read it like that.
But now when you zoom in and take your fingers off the screen it snaps back to how it was which is basically unreadable the writing is just to small and now there is just no way of making it bigger.
