Hard time deciding between Small and Extra Small

I had such a hard time trying to decide on the right size Doggles for my 8.5 pound Maltese with eye problems. She falls right at the end of the Extra Small size range as well as the beginning of the Small size range. The two sizes overlap on the chart making the decision harder. As soon as I decided on one size, I read or saw something that convinced me that the other size would be better.

Finally, after watching her squint in the sun one time too many, I decided to go with my first choice, the Extra Small. She has an eye defect which keeps her pupil from contracting with changes in light. Knowing how painful it is to walk into the sunlight after getting dilation eye drops at the ophthalmologist's office, I winced every time I saw her eyes water in the bright sunshine.

Once I received them, I checked the measurements against the Doggles size chart. The measurements given on the chart show the frame size for the Extra Small to be 3.5 inches. Actually, since the frame tapers from front to back, the front full frame is only 3.25 inches and the back is 3.75 inches. I have attached pictures of my dog with and without the Extra Small Doggles in order to better show my sizing process.

I was fortunate that the Extra Small fits her perfectly and she took to them immediately. It is a joy to be able to see her look up and enjoy a sunny day.

Our miniature Parti-Poodle (6-7lbs.) is size XS (aka Boomer, our Moto-Doodle) he wears his Doggles like a rock star on the motorcycle and because he rides in the "pooch pouch" (outward hound) strapped in front of me, protection is top priority and Doggles not only protects from the UV rays, they keep out the wind, rain, bugs, rocks and sand. They look so cool and get a ton of compliments, we have peace of mind knowing his eyes are as safe in his Doggles as our eyes are in our Oakley goggles. Doogles brand are the best doggie goggles, by far. This purchase is for our 4th pair of Doggles brand eyewear, it's the only eye protection we'll put on our moto-doodle. There are several other pet goggle brands on the market, some are considerably less expensive options however, his eye are way too important to trust to a "novelty" product. The interchangeable lens system is a wonderful addition to this great product, switching to different lenses is super quick and easy, I can go from daylight (smoke) to night (clear) in just a minute or two. The Blue lenses are a nice option, not too light or dark, we have purchased additional lenses for other goggles and with the ILS, they fit these new Doggles and the lens case (came with extra lens purchase) keeps them separated and scratch free for easy access on the fly.

Adorable and high quality

Holy cow are these adorable. I love these. They work really well and they're soooo cute. We used them as a photo prop originally but I am really impressed with the quality and construction. I love that they're UV rated to protect sensitive eyes.

As a professional dog trainer, handler and breeder I now recommend these to my clients that do sports with their dogs. Lots of my clients kayak and swim and these were really impressive quality.

Also... they're so adorable.

The pups I tried them on did not have a hard time adjusting to their use. They did not find them aversive to wear at all.

I like them so much I'm gonna order some other colors!

These are just adorable!

My yorkie likes to dig in the beach sand like crazy. I hoped these would help keep the sand out of her eyes. Although they might a little bit, the fit is not tight enough to really keep the sand out. Some does get in and I find I have to keep adjusting them to keep them centered on her eyes so she can see (when they shift, she sits and waits for me to fix them). It gets to the point where I'm not sure if they're helping or hurting so after a couple of times, I take them off. Afraid they might push the sand into her eyes rather than keep it out. But as far as looks go, I'm not sure it gets much cuter! They come with a little plastic case so I can just toss them into the beach bag and pull them out when needed. I do have to be careful to make sure her hair is cleared out of the viewing area so its not blocking her view. A little tricky to get on just right but the fit would be perfect if she would just keep her face out of the sand.

X Small Perfect fit for tiny Yorkie

I purchased these for my 15 year old very tiny Yorkie (he's only 2.5 pounds) and they fit him perfectly (see photos). I had to tighten both straps considerably in order for them not to fall off but they fit and look great. He's never liked any thing on him, i.e. costumes, hats etc. but he loves these because they help him to see in the bright sunlight, which as he ages had become more difficult. I think these give him a sense of security knowing he's not going to bump into something as he sometimes did before. Making him feel safe and happy is my number one priority and these do the trick, PLUS he looks absolutely ADORABLE in them!! I would highly recommend these.

I have a tiny 3lb chihuahua that most people believe is a puppy... she's not. Everything I buy her must be tiny and I wasn't sure if these would fit. Wow, they do! Her eyes are bulging (as some chihuahuas have) and there was a concern for eye harm or fit... these not only were flexible, they have soft foam around the eye pieces so there is no risk of harm or damage to the eyes. These are a great product. The straps also help the goggles stay in place for dogs that don't like things on their head or face. I bought them to protect her eyes from the sun - the UV and blue tint help do this... and she looks adorable!

My dog loves his first pair of these, but next two just don't fit well at all. The first pair, he can flick up on his forehead by shaking his head when we go into building or shade. They then remain in perfect spot for him to push back over his eyes with a paw when we go back in sunlight. The other two pair end up wrapped around his head and under his chin when he does the shake. He also rubs his face/eyes on carpet after wearing one pair. Thus he loves one pair and hates the other two - straps are different.

They fit just right. I have such a hard time finding things because he is so small. Well, there are smaller dogs out there. Mine is a 6# Chihuahua. Not a toy size, just regular. But it's hard to find things online especially.

What I really like is that there are two straps. One that goes around the back of his head and one that straps under his chin which keeps the doggles in place while we are ridding.

He didn't like them the first day he tried them on, but then he found out that it involves a ride on the motorcycle and now he actually helps me to put them on!! So cute!

And the tint on the lens is light enough so that he can see lights and other cars when we are at a stop light. I likes to see what is going on around him. City driving is way more his preference.

It serve the basic purpose of protecting
my chihuahuas injured eye from the sun, grit and wind while it healed from a corneal injury. BUT it was a struggle to keep them from slipping while she walked.

I did like that the sockets were deep enough for large eyed pups, so few are. We're keeping these safe and will get her to wear them periodically to get her more used to keeping them on.

These would be perfect for my pup. I like the look of them and the fit; however, they arrived damaged in the packaging and I have to return them. The foam around the one lens was partially attached, while part of it was attached to the inside of the packaging. It appears to be in a couple of pieces attached to each other. Also, one lens had a rather large and deep scratch on the outside.
