These worked well
by Ravyn (5 out of 5 stars)
May 18, 2014

These worked really well, but our dog hated having them on. We still think they are a really good product!

We got a large, and they fit our 74 pound German Shepherd quite well.

The trick is to start slow. Show the dog the goggles and give him a treat for showing interest in them. Put them on and then reward, reward, reward! We gave him kibble for a full minute while he wore the glasses, then removed them. Do that each day for longer periods of time, and less treats, but always reward. Eventually, they won't need the constant praise, but getting a treat every time the glasses get put on helps associate these with good things.

Once he got used to having them on and ignoring them, we made it so he only went outside during the day while having these on, so he grew to associate them with food and walks, the same way he grew to associate his leash with outside time.

I like that these are padded all the way around, he seems more comfortable with them, but they can get got, so don't leave them on all the time.

Good product, I've seen them work, didn't happen for us.

We have an 85lbs 2.5 year old male yellow lab. I was very excited when I saw these. We ordered the large, and the band set even on the smallest size was too big. We got the medium and the nose bridge is too small. Not to mention he wanted no part of wearing them. Now, hes a well behaved dog. Listens most of the time, knows "leave it, sit, paw, lay down, stay, etc", does not jump on people, overall great, but has a few things he struggles with, this being one of them. The other is cutting his nails. Now the vet told us that the reaction to pull back his foot when you hold it is totally natural, but somehow he channels super human strength while doing this. We've tried bribes, while he was sleeping, doing more than 1 at once. The groomer can do it, we can't. If your dog has trouble with anything like that be prepared to have patients trying to get this to work. After 2 days of trying we pull up to a stop light, and there's a germanshepard in a side car wearing them. I said to the man, "how did you get her to wear them?", he said "She knows when I put on my glasses, she has to put on hers, its one of the rules, or she doesn't go". Apparently I failed to teach my dog what "rules" were and that's why I can't get him to keep them on.

he was like a puppy exploring the yard

Bought these for our 17 year old poodle when he started becoming blinded by bright light outdoors. He started it wanting to go outside at all, but with these on, he was like a puppy exploring the yard. We were so glad they worked. He was around 11 pounds and a miniature poodle and the small sit perfectly.

Fabulous way to protect your dog's eyesight
by Gail (5 out of 5 stars)

These goggles were purchased after my dog was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Many/most dogs go blind within a year of diagnosis due to continual high blood sugar that encourages cataract development. So, we want to protect our dog's vision and these are 100% UV and really nicely seal around the dog's eye sockets.

Most importantly, these are very easy to put on the dog. They happen to fit my dog perfectly and I love that they have foam seal around the eyes for both comfort and to block out sunlight.

My dog is a little less than excited about them. He has learned to take them off by himself by rubbing the side of his head against the ground, but I just put them right back on. He can drink water and bark and open his mouth with the strap under his chin.

Sizing is everything
by Judy (4 out of 5 stars)

I ordered a small for my dachshund puppy and they are extremely too big, he is 13 lbs and on the small side. I have another dachshund who is his dad and they fit him perfectly, he's a strong thick male that weighs in at a whopping 20 lbs, now he has two pairs different colors and ordered an extra small for his son, when I saw them I was profoundly taken aback on how small they were and they fit perfect on his narrow skull. FYI there is an extreme sizing difference between small and xs. Hope this helps with ordering. I'm happy with my purchase. These are perfect for our pets, we ride motorcycles, jet skis and snowmobiles, great protective wear from the wind and wetness. They seem happy so were happy and they look awesome.

Doesn't fit
by Amazon Customer (2 out of 5 stars)
April 3, 2014

First off, let me say that Amazon Customer Service is amazing! I cannot fault Amazon at all, this is all about the product.

That said, I was not happy with the product. My dog is a Golden Retriever/Lab mix, I ordered Large. They did not fit him well at all. The bridge of the nose was way too small, making the lenses sit too high on the face. So that the bottom of the frame tended to sit way too close to his eyes to be comfortable. When I was able to maneuver the frame to an almost reasonable position, the lenses actually touched his eyelids.

The lenses need to be set further out in the frame, and the bridge of the nose should be wider (or, better yet, adjustable).

They do seem to be fairly well made, if they only fit. I think for a dog whose eyes are a bit higher set (my dog's eyes aren't much higher than the top of his nose), or who has a flatter face, these would be a good product.

Was a waste of money for us
by Oenone (1 out of 5 stars)

I have 2 medium sized dogs, both weighing 32-34 lbs. The dog I needed these for has floppy ears, so the goggles slipped right off over her head. Apparently, there's nothing to keep the goggles from slipping off with floppy-eared dogs. My other dog has pointy ears so I tried them on him; the goggles stayed on, but my dog was miserable and tried to paw them off and shake them off, so I took them off and haven't used them. They're in a drawer, soon to go into the recycling bin. Disappointing.

Low quality
by DoxieMom (1 out of 5 stars)

I was really looking forward to receiving these. However, the sizing was off and the product is flimsy with light cheap foam as padding around the lenses. These were too big and didn't fit my dogs face (dachshund). I had got the small. The padding is not padding at all. It's easily pressed down and you can feel the plastic. I don't know if many dogs will keep it on bc it may be uncomfortable.

Excellent protection for dogs with dry, sensitive or allergy prone eyes
by N. Sun (4 out of 5 stars)
November 13, 2012

My nine month old lab has dry and allergic eyes that result in greenish discharge from his eyes after riding in the car with his head out the window. The simple solution would be to close the windows and not let him be the curious and thrill-seeking puppy that he is.

I looked into dog goggles here on Amazon and found Doggles. They look sturdy yet simple without any frills. I got them in large and black. The fit is almost perfect, but since dogs' faces are not like ours, conventionally goggles won't fit 100% perfectly. They sit a bit slanted on his face profile wise, and there are two bands that keep the goggles on. One goes behind his head, under his ears and the other band goes under his jaw. He can still open his mouth to speak, eat, and pant.

Getting my puppy to like his Doggles was the biggest challenge. He kept trying to remove them with his paw. After getting these on, I had to make some adjustments to the tightness of the bands. After sticking his head out the window for a few minutes, my dog invariably shakes his head. This pushes the Doggles up onto the top of his head 50% of the time, so it's a toss up of keeping these on over his eyes for prolonged periods. But even if these do slip up and over your dog's eyes, they most likely won't fall off your dog's head because of the double elastic band design.

The lens on Doggles are made with sturdy polycarbonate material and provide 100% UV protection. They are also easy to clean and come with a storage pouch. These also have breathing vents on the side so the lenses don't fog up. These are NOT for swimming as there is no real way to keep these "sealed" on a dog's head. I know this sounds obvious, but my dog also dives underwater when he swims and these should be removed before your dog enters deep water.

All in all, a great and practical fashion statement that can save your pup's eyes from cataracts and allergen induced eye discharge.

fits like a charm. high quality product.

They contour my dog's face perfectly! I have a 9 month old 23 pound shiba inu and his eyes sit directly in the middle of each lens! his last pair were flat lenses (kind of like human sunglasses) which left a gap between the goggles and his 'cheekbones', but these doggles leave NO GAPS! VERY HIGH QUALITY PRODUCT, there's TWO LAYERS of cushion that border all around goggles like swim goggles almost. The straps secure wonderfully and the chin strap is stitched down on both sides so one side of goggles dont get pulled unevenly/akwardly lower on the dogs face if the ends shift. I say they were worth the money and I would be again.
