Holy Smokes!
by Amilyn (1 out of 5 stars)
March 25, 2016

Initially, I loved it. Super handy. However, within a week, I noticed a strange, burning smell coming whenever I turned on my heater. Seeing as the heater was a gift and not a purchase I made, I assumed that it was the heater.

Turns out, one morning I was watching the plug and lo and behold, a stream of smoke appeared from the socket! Within minutes there were electrical sparks and the stream of smoke was like a small rope from the plug to the ceiling. I immediately shut it off, and took a look.

I am so disappointing with this! I didn't have it even a month and it was fried!

Cheaply made fire hazard waiting to happen
by Rynoth (1 out of 5 stars)

Ordered this power strip because I got tired of covering up outlets with bulky adapters and wanted something to solve that issue.

Unfortunately the Quirky Pivot Power is very cheaply made. The power button is tiny, feels flimsy, and mine was broken when I first plugged in the product.

Went back and scrolled through the reviews thinking maybe I just had bad luck. Nope. Several negative reviews mentioned the power button as being broken or breaking shortly after the Pivot Power was used. Two reviews mentioned the Pivot Power smoking, and burning. I'm returning mine and am thankful it was only the power button and I didn't wake up late at night to the smell of burning plastic, or worse left the piece of junk plugged in while away for a few days.

I love how you can rotate each individual outlet

I love how you can rotate each individual outlet!! This works well when I have some plugs that are large and bulky (like some apple chargers). And I actually think the bright blue color is really cute in my home. Great value for the price. I will be buying more for sure.

BAM EXPLODED!!
by AmazonShopper (3 out of 5 stars)

I have mixed feelings about these power strips. They are pretty cool looking, but they do not offer surge protection and that could be dangerous depending upon what you have plugged in. My daughter spotted these while we were shopping at one of our local TJX stores just before Christmas and I bought all that they had on hand. We used them for about a month, when I decided to go online and purchase a few more. Well, one day one of the power strips just exploded and it happened while everything was off and while I was away from home. Probably not the best idea, but it was one that I was using for my MacBook pro, phone charger, a speaker and a portable heater. I was very fortunate, that the extension cord was all that was damaged. It occurred to me after that this had never happened before, because we've always used surge protectors. So, needless to say, I've returned to using the surge protectors. I'm not quite sure what we'll do with these now and I wasn't aware that there was a Quirky Pivot Power 6 Outlet Flexible Surge Protector Power Strip (Black) model, but that's what I'd recommend in place of this Quirky power strip.

VERSATILE! WAY COOL! Ideal power strip excellent for my needs!!!

Shopping on Amazon takes imagination and patience these days, as you see a cool item online, really want it and realize, "wait a minute", there's probably more to look and more to find....and so with that being said, I was amazed, and I mean, amazed when I received my pivoting power strip. (Hard to brag about a power strip) I had seen power charging stations all over Amazon and although really practical to my lifestyle of lots of stuff to recharge all of the time, I did not really appreciate the $40 plus price. Low and behold I find this power strip and not only is it great for what I want, it is well built, colorful to say the least, and, the large plug holes makes it easy to use. This power strip can be moved, bent, turned, to various shapes and works very well for me. I have all the plugs set up with various USB cords matched to various 100v plugs....and have my cell phone, Kindle HDX, a portable power charger, my emergency radio, and my Bluetooth selfie stick all plugged in. (No sense is beating around the bush for performance) The last plug is my "guest" plug for people that come to my house and need to charge "something". You can not go wrong with this unit. (I already ordered two more!) AND THIS IS NOT TO SAY YOU CAN PLUG IN BEEFY EQUIPMENT LIKE POWER TOOLS AND HEATERS AND AIR CONDITIONERS OR OTHER LARGE DRAWING BIG ITEMS......but for normal use, this baby is a great add.....thanks AMAZON once again! (And Amazon Prime it's there in two days!)

This Works Nicely.
by Bob (4 out of 5 stars)

I have been postponing cleaning up my dust-gathering messes under my computer workstation and over at the media center for quite some time.

Procrastination has been my problem.

Then this weird looking product came along at a fairly reasonable price with Prime shipping.

Get off your butt Bob, and get things done on this project.

The design is interesting, and it does work with all types of those big bulky transformers. The color is fine too, as I have already have had "what is that (?) positive comments from visitors.

I gave it 4 stars because it does not contain a surge protector, which I think is appropriate at this price level.

I am running it into a downstream Isobar surge protector, and from then into a kind of unique array:

From the Isobar, it goes into an inexpensive, but VERY useful electricity useage monitor (available on Amazon as "Electricity Usage Monitor, Power Meter, Reduce Your Energy Costs Model EUM-A1" for just under $15 a piece. This device, after you decypher the "Manual Instructional" written in syntax impossible figure out on first reading...really works to identify the device power hogs around here!

After stalling out on upgrading for a few years, I am really happy now with these purchases, as everything looks much more professional, and monitoring my power consumption has really helped remind me to shut down un-needed devices not in use.

A must read...think before you buy!!

I started using this the middle of January. I have 3 things plugged into it. We left to go to the mountains on Sunday...came back last night and we smelled something burning. When we got to the bedroom this surge protector was frying the outlet...melted the plastic covering that we have on the carpet. Please do not buy for the safety reasons. I am a Paramedic so I have helped pull many bodies from homes...infant to Adult.

This was perfect for what I needed
by D. Owen (5 out of 5 stars)

This was perfect for what I needed! I have several items that need to charge. Their plugs are really big, though, so I could only charge two or three at a time using a regular power strip. The rotating heads on this makes it possible to charge all of them at once!

The pop up button mystery
by A Dogged shopper (4 out of 5 stars)
August 5, 2015

Sort of 3.5 starts, but who's counting? Pro side, it does lay flat, and the plug does fit nicely in tight spots, and it's easy to set even big plugs in to the extension. Cons: But so do other strips that cost less, and I really have no idea what the prominently featured "pop up" button is supposed to do. Pressing it, for ex does diddly nothing. But, hey, this was designed by a RISD grad, a fun school with some fun alumnae (those that i know, anyway). So, try it out. Maybe the button on this one is broken; dunno. Does anybody know? But it works for the tight spots, and it is cool looking, so, ok. Not sure if this helps, but, y'know, ck it out.

Price was right.
by San Mac Lover (4 out of 5 stars)

Yes. I bought the pink because of the price and tempory need, not to mention my 98 y/o mother likes to decorate her house in pink. I was visiting my parents and with all my siblings with all the various gadgets, this was a must have particularly with diverse sized charging cords and bricks. It served us just fine and for $15, it was a worthwhile investment, even in pink. I made the purchase just thinking of the need for additional power sources. This is not a surge bar so keep that in mind when making the purchase. That fact got past me in my haste.

If you buy this in the lovely pink color, you can grab one for $15.49.

Great idea, circular

This is great, fits on side table by chair for the "regulars" - phone charger, knee heat pad, shredder, etc. Only quibble is directions say it has on off switch but I couldn't find one. Maybe another model with same info. Since everything these days seems to need charging and every outlet seems to have extensions added, this is more visible so I like the color.
