Product Description

BOLDLY CUT PIZZA WHERE NO MAN HAS CUT BEFORE. Space - the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new pizzas, to seek out fresh toppings and new cheeses, to boldly cut pizza where no man has cut before. Yes, this officially-licensed Star Trek collectible is everything you hoped it would be. The laser-etched stainless-steel blade and solid metal construction make it perfect for battling Romulans in the neutral zone or slicing pizzas with precision. Star Trek + Pizza = Yay!

Star Trek!

Pizza!

The world has been waiting to combine these great things for 50-ish years, and its finally happened!

They said I was a fool to dream...

This was a gift from me to me for my one-man house warming party.

The blade/primary hull is solid, sharp, and etched with the appropriate Enterprise name and NCC 1701. It fits solid on the handle.

The handle/secondary hull is metal, and has some heft to it. Despite it's appearance, it is not entire uncomfortable to hold and use, though it won't be nearly as comfortable as an OXO pizza cutter handle, but hey, Star Trek trumps comfort any day! Unless you cut pizza for a living, it won't be an issue for most folks.

It comes in a very fancy box, so if it's a gift, or fancy boxes are important to you, you can sleep soundly on this issue.

It's not to proper Enterprise scale. The nacelles are too close together. If it was to scale, however, it would be much more difficult to hold and use, unless you have an enormous set of meat hooks. Personally I think the trade off is worth it.

If you're looking for that perfect gift for your favorite Star Trek geek, you can't go wrong with this.

Highly Recommend!

A Star Trek Geek's dream!

I bought this for my husband for his birthday as he is a huge Star Trek geek and has mentioned wanting this for a couple years now. He was REALLY excited when I gave it to him. The construction is solid and this product looks and feels very nice. He wanted pizza THAT NIGHT so he could use the new pizza cutter and even now any time we order pizza he wants to ask them not to cut it so he can use his Enterprise.

Word of warning! This pizza cutter is EXTREMELY sharp. Out old pizza cutter had a safety shield on the top which I got quite used to, but this one is just an open blade. I tried cutting pizza and forgot that it wasn't shielded and cut the $#%@ out of my finger. User error, I know.. but just a warning that this baby is sharp!

Looks good, but is built poorly.

Bought this knowing that handling a pizza cutter by the engines would be awkward. That's understandable, and not why I'm giving this product 2 stars. My issue is with the cutting blade. I'm not sure why, but on the cutter I received the blade has a serious wobble. When I'm cutting, the blade can pivot about 5-10 degrees off the spindle center, which can make the cutter shift quickly from one side to the other, not a good thing when you're handling something with poor grip.

I don't understand why there's so much play in the blade. I know that there has to be some play as the blade goes into the main deck, but the amount of play tells me that there's nothing solid holding it to the spindle like in a regular pizza cutter. Looking into the center I see a couple of metal tabs that seem to be there to keep the blade centered, but they don't contact the blade and in fact the distance between them and the blade is greater than their entire size.

All together this makes the cutter a nice thing to look at, but a pain to use, and that's not good as I'm not about to leave a pizza cutter sitting on the counter for decoration, nor am I going to use a cutter that has a horrid wobble when I have a solid cutter already. If they can make a cutter in the shape of the Enterprise, they should be able to get something as simple as shaft design correct.

Won't look brand new for long...

This pizza cutter is beautiful and has a nice weight to it. It's cuts the crust all the way through. The handle takes some getting used to, since there are technically 2 handles in comparison to a traditional pizza cutter. It is hard to clean. I found getting all the grease and residue is a task. Especially if you want it to look the way you bought it.

Where no pizza has gone before!

Item was spendy but absolutely worth it. Frankly, its too nice to actual use to cut pizzas so I'm glad I ordered multiple cutters so one could be left in the box as a collectors item. I like the huge blade as it should nicely cut any size pizza. Its 2-3 times bigger than the one I had been using. Its a little awkward to hold for cutting as its the shape of the Enterprise after all but I'll get used to it. I'd recommend buying at least two so you can use one and save the other as I did. Thank-you.

I just received the Star Trek Pizza cutter today (so exciting!) (yes I know...total geek!). Actually I purchased this as a gift, but now I want one for myself!! First off, it was really nicely packaged, and I was kind of surprised by that. Usually when you buy something in this $25 price range it comes in some old cardboard box in like bubble wrap. But this was in a really nice box with that spongy foam stuff.....so kudos to their marketing people for the packaging! It was all shiny and silvery, and I'm thinking.....I wouldn't want to get this dirty cutting pizza! LOL But seriously I'm writing this review because I myself always read them before buying a product and I trust what people say. I haven't actually tried cutting pizza with this (since it's a gift), but this is such a cool item for the price, that I don't think you will be at all disappointed. Even if this thing doesn't actually cut pizza (which it seems pretty sharp so I think it will).....I wouldn't even care, because it made me smile just looking at it in the box! (for those fellow Star Trek lovers, you know exactly what I mean). If you or anyone you know loves Star Trek, then I totally recommend this cutter. You'll love it!

Where no pizza has gone before...

I bought this as a gift for my best friend. He absolutely loved it. He even put a picture of it on facebook, right next to his kid. Now, I'm not saying he loves it more than his kid...or am I? No, of course not, but he loves nevertheless. He uses it all the time, it's not just sitting on a shelf getting dusty. It's very durable and responds well to dishwasher use. For any Star Trek fans or for friends of Trekkies out there and you know who you are, you can't go wrong with this purchase. And no, I wasn't paid for my response; even though it may seem like I was. In fact, Amazon..give me some money.

Set phasers to pizza!
by Kayla G (5 out of 5 stars)

I purchased this pizza cutter for my brother for Christmas. We are both huge Trekkies and I love the idea of combining pizza and Star Trek. Duh.

Upon receiving it, it comes in a fancy box and it is well packaged. The pizza cutter is very shiny and comes with all the details that would make a Trekkie like me go nuts. It has the NCC-1701 designation and it has the Enterprise details perfect.

My brother loved it when he got it and immediately wanted to make us a pizza for dinner to try it out. Functionally, this thing is a great pizza cutter and it it quite sharp and the blade turns very easily. It made the pizza taste even better because it was chopped by the Enterprise!

The only thing that I would have liked to see is it being dishwasher safe. You have to hand wash this every time to maintain the quality of the finish. But this isn't such a big deal. Just a couple minutes with soap and water and it's clean and ready for warp speed pizza cutting once more.

This is a great gift for pizza lovers and Trekkies alike! I just need to get myself one now!

Looks so GREAT I'm afraid to use it!!

It appears very sturdy and I really should use it, but I just keep thinking Sheldon Cooper is shaking his head at me if I take it out of the box. I do at least have them, in the box, on my Kitchen counter. The detail is great - but I'm glad I got a standard pizza cutter too......

probably the coolest pizza cutter ever
by s. kyle (5 out of 5 stars)

i wanted this pizza cutter months ago but didn't get it because of its cost. i caught it a little on sale on amazon and that was enough for me to go for it and i'm glad i did! it comes in a really nice box (which is awesome if you're giving it as a gift) with a line drawing of the enterprise on the top. the cutter itself looks really good and has "uss enterprise ncc-1701" etched on the saucer section. all of the screws that hold this together have been put in from the bottom so you don't see them from the top which is nice. this cutter functions well and has a good, sharp blade. holding the nacels instead of a traditional handle takes a bit of getting used to but works pretty well. i didn't find this too difficult to clean - just make sure you give it a good rinse and wash it with a soapy cloth soon after cutting your pizza so nothing dries on in the small gap area. and no, this is not a toy...that's why it says "pizza cutter" in the title.
