Stomach sleepers alert: it really does work!
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)
June 24, 2016

My husband and I were skeptical, especially as there weren't a lot of helpful reviews of this item. We travel a lot, and are both forward, stomach sleepers, so it is very difficult for us to sleep on planes. Neck pillows don't cut it. We were preparing for a flight to Thailand and decided to give this contraption a try. The truth is, I didn't use mine since I can often sleep on the tray, but my husband who is 6 feet 200 pounds used his and slept the entire way from the US to Asia. He has never, ever done this before. Not across country and certainly not to Asia. To be fair, he used the other item too called a 'wrap a nap' around his head so that there was pillow cushion on the sides where his face met the top of this cloud nine pillow thing. Amazingly, it actually held up the whole way and did not get crushed under his weight, as was my worry, because when we ordered, there was only the 'small' sizes available. He does want to replace it with a larger one some day, however, even a small worked like magic for him when it came to lights out. The combination of having a place for his hands/arms to rest and the breathing space, mixed with a sense of shutting out the rest of the plane, were well designed features.

It does have a slight smell from the material. We put a bit of essential oil on it. Although really, who notices when you're sleeping like a baby? This is probably not the best item for someone who has no problem sleeping straight up with head lolled to the side. In that case, there are a thousand neck pillow variants to choose from. This is for the traveler that needs to sleep in a more forward position with their head supported or cradled. It may look a little strange, but what is the price you'd pay to land rested after 24 hours of traveling? We give it five stars for doing what no other sleep/travel item has been able to accomplish for my husband ...deeper, more comfortable slumber.

Take on Every Trip

Compact & easy to inflate/deflate. I put it in my carryon & blow it up when I need it. I am tall, 6'3", and have difficult time with the limited space in coach. So I just sit upright (not laid back) as if I'm sleeping on my stomach/face, leaning slightly foward with its base on my lap and my face nestled in the top part of the tube. The holes for the head allow for easy breathing, and the holes midway allow for my forearms to comfortably rest intertwined. Sidebar - sitting foward while napping allows for long legs comfort also. It's not miraculous, but has been very helpful multiple times on 14hr flights to & from Taiwan.

BROKE ON MY FIRST FLIGHT!
by Tania C. (1 out of 5 stars)
July 11, 2018

The head rest developed an air leak on it's maiden voyage (a 13 hour flight to South Africa.) My family was initially jealous until it deflated under me and then they super relieved they hadn't wasted their money like I did. I carried it around with me on my vacation (it isn't that small deflated) with the hopes of fixing it or having it replaced when I returned, but I can't even find a customer service number. The purchase was a big disappointment.

I have a lot of neck pain and can barely sit in a car, let alone a plane. I had a 16 hour plane ride, so I bought several different neck pillows and plane sleeping contractions. This one was by far the best. I bought the large size though I am only 5'4" because I wanted to keep my head as upright as possible. It was amazing! I slept most of the plane trip, something I've never done before. I woke up with no neck pain. I highly recommend this item.

Good concept, poor quality

Good concept but poor material. I used it 1 time and it started leaking. I tried to seal the hole with super glue but it's still leaking. Very disappointed. Please improve the quality since the price is over $30.

My new best 'Travel Friend'!!!
by Debbie Brooks (5 out of 5 stars)

I used the 'Little Cloud Nine Travel Pillow' (small), on a recent trip 'cross country',...and LOVED it! It inflated quickly,....just sort of molded to my body, and I was asleep in no time. As far as the size,....I purchased a small,....(I'm 5' 5.5 inches) and sat the Little Cloud on top of my regular 'neck pillow' on my lap, which made it a little taller,...plus kept it from sliding. It's comfortable,...It deflates easily, and doesn't take up much space. I'll never travel without it again!

Smells and not comfortable
by Ray (1 out of 5 stars)
April 22, 2017

I was going on the longest flights of my life and I picked this up with the hope of getting some sleep on the plane. This thing has a STRONG smell that wasn't even close to calming down after 2 days out of the package. It made it barley useable and the area designed for your face to rest wasn't comfortable. BTW I slept for 1 hour out of the 13 and that was without the travel pillow.

sleeping on a plane is just awkward no matter how you do it. i felt i was trading one discomfort for another sort. i think the problem is the issue of still having to support yourself lest you fall to the side.

When pulling up the valve it tore from the pillow. I didn't get to use it. Now I feel I need to be careful with the other one I bought. Not sure how it will turn out. Pretty disappointed in the quality

Solid 5 hours of sleep from a non-plane sleeper!
by RachelRose (5 out of 5 stars)
June 10, 2016

I purchased this pillow for a recent trip overseas because my biggest worry was not getting any sleep on the 13 hour flights. I took a risk in purchasing this pillow since it was different than others I have seen, but I was willing to try anything - and I am glad I did! I am not a person who can sleep on plane... but I got a solid 5 hours of sleep in both of my long flights!! I was refreshed when I awoke and didn't even have a hint of neck pain!
