Cute but not functional

I fell in love with these and had to have them. One BIG design defect...unless you can store them on their backs or perfectly tilted they WILL spill salt and pepper everywhere. And every time you knock them over, they spill. And every time you bump them... (you get the point). They're also a pain to fill because if you fill more than 1/3 of the way it leaks out the hole (which is smack dab in the center of the star). A smarted design would have been holes in the top.

Gave to brother in his early 30's.

He loved it! It's a topic of conversation often in the kitchen! People seem to really love them! They're pretty unique, and thumb their nose at conventional salt & pepper shakers.
Definitely something to give to the condiment shaker collectors too, haven't found another similar set anywhere! We're major bargain hunters, and looked all over for another set! So is you aren't really familiar with someone's collection this is a pretty safe bet they don't already have a set!

We're going to send a second set to our kid away at college. We liked them even better in person. Their a good gift to give, to yourself, and others - it's a no brainer!

Yes...it is super cool to use your magic wand to season your food, but I have no idea how to store them. I tried putting them in a glass, like pencils in a pencil holder, but the salt and pepper crept out while resting in there. Laying them flat seems just as ineffective. I don't regret buying them though...seriously a brilliant little idea. Maybe the makers can improve on it, until then I'm just going to have to figure some other way to sprinkle magic on my food.

I gave this to my brother for Christmas. I hope he has used it, but have to base my review on my own experience cause he hasn't given any feedback. First: this is CUTE! So cute, I almost kept it for myself, and am probably going to order my own now. It also works. I tested before gifting, so can verify that it is functional as well as adorable. Very pleased with this purchase as well as my experience with this seller and would recommend it/them to friends.

Lets face it the product is cute and definitely a conversation piece. I also get positive comments and feedback about the looks as for function it varies. It is perfect for people who need to limit their salt intake. It only has one escape hole for the salt shaker vs the pepper shaker that has 3 holes. To put the content in the container is no fun. A lot of the time I struggle to put the salt in or end up spilling the salt. :(

When I first saw this product, I was amused.

Then I kept coming back to it. Then I actually put it on my wish list for Christmas, and when no one bought it for me, I broke my piggy bank and bought it for myself.

I was a little hesitant about the actual functionality of it, due to the reviews and size of it. I've used it since receiving it and love it. Not sure why reviewers want it to give them more salt and pepper. That would be way too much. There is only one hole on the top of the head for the salt, but since I've seen numerous salt shakers with that feature, it didn't strike me as odd. Both pieces stand on their own two feet, and separately as well. It's a sturdy little set.

As far as filling it, the fill holes are tiny. I do not own a mini funnel so all I did was make one out of parchment paper. It was easy to fill using that trick.

I am very happy with this. My other half laughed hysterically at me, but the kids will love it when they see it.

OK. This is just a cute idea. Makes me laugh. Salt does over pour but I think I'll refill with some ground up Mrs. Dash and have fun with it. The stars on the wand worked great at July 4th Party. Filling the wands is no problem, folks -- used a small funnel taped to a straw. Easy peasy. Was it overpriced? Really, yes, but the novelty of it prevents me from having any regrets.

Loved the idea of this set, had to have it, bought two one for me and one for my friend. The quality is not all that, plastic a bit cheap looking. Packaging was nice, in a clear box. Filling it with salt and pepper is a pain, you have to untwist the stick from the star part, the filling hole is very small, my kitchen funnel was too large, had to use a paper. I can do it but a bit of a pain, would be nice if a funnel of some sort was provided.

I fill them half full and stand them up in a small vase on the table. The whole reason I bought them was to add 'magic' to a picky 3 yr old's food. The pepper is just fine (as we like pepper) but the salt pours out. I tried filling it mainly with rice and barely having any salt. It still poured. Now I haven't a clue if it is food safe really. But I ended up placing a bit of GEL super glue on most all of the hole. That worked along with the rice left in the shaker. This product would be perfect of the salt hole wasn't roughly an 1/8 of an inch. I personally don't want myself let alone my children consuming that much salt.
