Nice to look at, not very functional

I bought this because I needed a new cookie jar. My old one was lost between moving and my boyfriend is really into Portal. It arrived very quickly which was very nice. The paint job is a little 'light' in some areas but that is typical for the ceramic it is made of. My biggest peeve is that it does not seal. The lid doesn't fit at all, it wobbles when you touch it. Thankfully, I am crafty enough to make my own seal so the cookies don't go stale. The lid is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Lid isn't that great

I was surprised at the size of this cookie jar, its HUGE and heavy. But I like it. However, the only setback is the lid. It doesn't close well at all and doesn't have that plastic around it to seal off air. Your cookies will probably be stale in a day or two. It's great as a jar for chocolates and other wrapped sweets, but the last thing that I would put in here are cookies.

I just got it and it's so cute! I squealed when I pulled it out of the box.

It was packed well, so no cracks and the lid fits just right. It has kind of a home-made look to it, but I think that kid of personal touch makes it more appealing.

Eee! I'm so excited. I'm excited over a cookie jar. :D

The cube is pretty big, fits about 5 dozen ninja sugar cookies. It's beautifully done, even though the cover is slightly crooked. The cube is awesome for anyone who is a fan of portal. I'm pretty sure you can fit a cake in this.

A great gift

It's not too large or too small. It's of great quality even though the paint job kind of sucks it gives it a personal look. I got it for my husband who is a portal fan and he loves it. He doesn't keep cookies in it though he puts beefy jerky and other snacks in it.

I really like this jar, the only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because in the picture, the paint looks solid and my jar has brush strokes all around and the grey in the center is a bit lighter with brush strokes.

I almost never write reviews but I had to write this one after hesitating to get this product based on some other reviews that said it looked poorly painted or came broken. I'm so glad I purchased anyway! This items does not look poorly painted--this is how glazed ceramic looks! It's very cute and was a perfect gift for my Portal-loving cookie-baking friend. It also came very well packaged without a scratch, so they must have updated the packaging since some of these reviews were written. You should get this cookie jar!

this gift was for my husband he is a big portal geek and it is very cool-my daughter even loves it. just keep it out of reach from anyone who can break stuff it is heavy and fragile like most cookie jars are- but its a nice cookie jar for a geek =)
