I ordered this grinder to try something new. My husband got a turkey on his hunt last weekend and we wanted a way to get the turkey ready for all types of dinners. So we decided to grind up our wild turkey.

Pros:
- Easy to take apart
- East to use
- Grinds perfectly well
- Comes with 3 sizes for your grind (plus tools for making sausage, which I have no intention of using)
- The pictures attached to the listing for this item shows you the way the blade should look when installing (be sure to make sure it's the right direction)

Cons:
- so far my only con is the smell of the motor but overall the machine works great for my first time ever grinding something.

I added pictures of the device and how much I was able to grind in 20 min (all my turkey)!

Very happy with this product. I bought it to grind meat for making homemade sausages, which requires the meat to be almost frozen and the machine had no problems dealing with the frozen meat. Because I am making sausage my meat has a high fat content and I've had previous grinder s where the blade and plate would get clogged with fat and I would have to keep stopping to clean them. This machine does get a bit of fat trapped in the blades and plate, but not a significant amount to slow down the grinding process. I would stop to clean between batches of meat (several pounds worth).

As for the sausage making attachment, I would only give it 3.5 / 5 stars. It worked, but was a little slow. (Please note that I was stuffing sausages on a boiling hot day with high humidity, which may have played a factor because once your meat starts to thaw it just becomes a nasty mush). I've since invested in the Vivo sausage stuffer, so won't be using this again for sausages stuffing. But, since I bought it primarily as a grinder I'm giving it a 5 star rating because it more than fulfilled my expectations.

Bought this less than a year ago and it did a great job grinding a lot of meat. One day I was grinding meat that may have been a little too frozen and I tried to jam it through the grinder and the gears started slipping and then the grinder was shot. The grinder did a great job up to that point but I considered buying a more expensive grinder with metal gears so that I wouldn't have to worry about that in the future, even though I liked the grinder up until that point. Since the grinder had a one year warranty, I contacted the company, and they offered to replace the unit, no questions asked. Since I liked the grinder to begin with and really didn't want to spend more money on a new one, I agreed to their offer and received a new grinder a couple of days later. I think it is a very good grinder for the price, and the company did a great job backing up their warranty.

Gets the job done, but it gets clogged very easily. I've found it can't handle fat/sinew/skin very well. However, I did do some research and took the advice of several others; that is, to partially freeze the meat beforehand. It certainly did clog less frequently, so I would recommend any others having this issue give that a try as well. This grinder is not strong enough to handle bone. Not even small bits. Check your meat thoroughly before sending it down the tube. One little bone shard could set you back half an hour while you clean it out to find the problem.

I purchased this one mainly for buying lean beef to grind into my own hamburger. Did not have to put through twice, ground up perfectly the first time with large hole grinding plate. I cut trimmed meat into large cubes about 2x2", sometimes long 2" wide sections and it fit easily down into neck of grinder. Motor strong, did not slow down, was not as loud as expected. Have not needed to use reverse. Easy to set up and take down for cleaning. There was a little bit of stringy sinew caught up near center of grinding plate that had to be removed, and it did block meat from a couple of center holes. So if I had to do a lot of meat I would probably want to remove plate and clean it off occasionally. Barely noticeable after 7 pounds of meat. Excellent job and price.

Pupusas

My mom enjoys making her pupusas out of this machine I got her for mother's day. Maybe not as accurate as the handmade/old school grinder she had but! this does the job. I would suggest watching a few vids and reading instructions carefully before forcing a lot of stuff. We figured the amount it takes to keep it running and it works perfect.

I asked lots of questions online and among a few friends about grinders since I knew we'd be getting venison to eat. The Sunmile grinder did the job handily and cleanup was easy. THe grinder was sturdy and did not "walk" while using it. At one point I was pushing down too hard on the food pusher and some blood/juice started to ooze out of the area where the food hopper attached to the cutting blades-so I pushed a bit lighter and no problem. Made a fine grind of pure venison as well as ½ venison + ½ beef. Had VERY little meat left behind when finished, maybe half a tablespoon. Excellent purchase; I highly recommend.

Bought as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. He is pretty experienced with meat grinding & knows what he's doing. He's a hunter & I wanted to get it for him to use for venison, primarily, but I'm sure it will be used for more. He set it up with no issues, was pleased with the quality of the unit & all parts and said it ground everything great. It's only been used one time but he was very happy with it (his immediate response was "we won't be buying ground beef ever again", lol). Definitely recommend 😊

this works perfectly on deer. I have already ground up more than three deer with it and it was so easy to use and clean. This is a great product and easy on my wallet. I've already made my money back by not having to go to the butcher.

Disappointing

It worked for a very short time and then after 20 lbs of deer meat, everything began to clog and jam up. Evidently the blades dulled as bad as the finish on the exterior metal. Very disappointing waste of $65. Keep shopping for a different machine.
