The 5th star is missing ONLY because the glow mechanism didn't work when I received it. I had to bend and shape the metal prongs to fix it. That being said this is a great football! Flies normally, glows brightly, feels like a regular football, batteries are replaceable and last a long time. it shuts itself off when not in use.

Works exactly how you're probably intending it to. I got it for a friend who loves, loves, loves being outside and football, so this is perfect. I'd say I have medium-sized hands (for a 6' 2" guy) and this fits comfortably for throwing and catching. I don't think it's regulation, but don't quote me. The battery installation is a little iffy - I had to take it out after initially putting it in and tweaking it to get full connectivity, but that's just user error, I think. I say that to mean: if it's not as bright as you think it should be when you put the batteries in at first, take it out and try again.

Haven't been able to REALLY play with it yet since it's been so cold on the East Coast, so I can't speak to the longevity. But in a big, empty, dark basement, it works great.

Dont be a cheapskate

Defective on arrival and ugly. Before buying it i saw multiple reviews reporting it as defective on arrival but deceded to take a chance since it was $10 cheaper than another one i saw on a different site. BAD decision. Big disappointment. Waste of time and effort and i wasnt able to give it as a Christmas gift as planned. Had to make a last minute selection in place of it for my grandson

Overall we are happy with this purchase the ball really lights up outside at night it is pretty awesome however the plug that hold the light inside will not stay in. I read someone else advise duct tape but that kinda ruins the whole effect and who wants a brand new ball with duct tape on it. It was a great idea though. My son loves it but we have gotten lucky being able to find the plug once it has fallen out eventually we wont be so lucky when it lands in grass where we cant see it.

Fun Night Football

Bought this as a gift for Christmas for my son. He loves playing catch and the conditions in Ohio with it getting dark at 5:30pm put a damper on that. We have had a blast with the football so far and very easy to see in the darkness. It is very rugged, easy to assemble (just the light and plug), has a great grip and fits in the hand nicely. Only negative that can not be helped is the construction makes the football feel a bit harder than a leather ball, especially when cold out. This is easily fixed by wearing gloves. It is about the size of a junior football, only a bit longer and weighed 13.2 oz. For reference a junior leather ball we have was 11.5 oz. and a full size leather was 14.5. I would buy it again, well worth the money and can't wait for warmer weather to play night football games with the kids and cousins.

Not what you'd expect to get

Batteries were worn out by the time I attempted to assemble the unit. Definately not a easy assembly product. I ended up throwing it out since I couldn't replace the batteries without having to resolder the battery mount back together.

This thing was/is pretty fun. I've treated it rough... left it in the back of my truck for about 6 months now, day in and day out.. but it still works.. I'll probably buy another and take better care of it. It gets really slippery when wet, but that's pretty unavoidable. The battery/light didn't last for more than 4 or 5 hour long throwing sessions.. so buy extras.. they're cheap.

This thing lights up pretty well- though so far we've only used in the house. Hoping to make use of some of the warmer spring and summer nights to play a bit of catch. We have bounced the ball around pretty good in the house and it seems durable.

Bought two of these over the last 4 years. Highly recommend. The plastic is more translucent(brighter when lit) than the solid orange ones(they def come from same factory).
