Great budget headphones

I'm gonna try to break this down into parts

My first impression out of the box is it's cheaper looking than I expected, but after putting these headphones on I was really impressed. They're extremely comfortable to wear, although I will say the ear cups are slightly smaller than expected so if you have large ears these might not be the headphones you want.

Sound quality is okay. Decent for the price at least. Bass is present but don't expect to have your head throbbing. JBL did a great job of giving it sound quality all around so you can hear some of everything. So if you don't mind having average bass, these are great sounding budget headphones.

Some miscellaneous stuff to finish, the headphones do fold...not as well as they could. But the cups do swivel so that helps as far as portability. I honestly carry mine on my neck so it doesn't make a huge difference to me. The headphone cable that comes included is actually quite nice and longer than expected, and it comes with a built in remote for phone calls and music control. Also one feature I love is that the volume control is independent of your phone/device. Meaning you can adjust volume and it won't affect your devices volume. I think it's nice.

I'll edit this in a couple of months to comment on how it holds up quality wise.

Awful Customer Support & JBL does not honor their warranty

DO NOT BUY THESE PRODUCTS IF YOU DO NOT LIVE IN THE USA!!!

I bought this slightly more than a month ago and have been experiencing more and more issues with these since.
1. At first they would not connect to 2 devices. Anytime they connected to one they would disconnect from the first.
2. After a week of this they finally connected to 2 devices (smartphone and iMac) but when connected to the imac they would put out stuttering and delayed sound. Disconnecting from the first device did not solve the sound issue but removing the device from the bluetooth options and re-pairing it with the iMac did solve it (until it disconnects and reconnects)
3. Week later, the headphones would randomly disconnect from all devices while being used, and would also occasionally not connect to devices when turned on.
4. Around this time I noticed that with voices (male or female) I was getting tinny metallic sounds even with the volume very low. Did not notice it with music but movies or videos are almost unwatchable.

I contacted Harman support around and after having them take 3 weeks to respond and actually give me an answer and reason fro them not honoring my warranty I was told that because I am currently overseas that they will NOT honor their warranty.

So again if you are an international customer or someone who lives/travels a lot these headphones and JBL products will not be good for you. If you need to contact them about repairs then their awful Customer support will jerk you around not giving clear answers and then leave you out in the dark with broken headphones.

MY ORIGINAL REVIEW:

These are fantastic headphones much better than my last PLANTRONICS SENSE 500 headphones O(which never stayed connected). The sounds on the JBL's is fantastic, they fit great over my large head, and they stay connected reliably throughout my subway and walking travels.

My only issue would be them not having a dedicated Next/Previous track button and the headphone audio plug being a 2.5mm to 3.5mm cord. The volume button works ok but is not great when you are trying to skip multiple songs, these would be better with a dedicated next track/last track button. Also with my experience with cords they tend to break and need to be replaced randomly. So having a somewhat more specialized cored means that it will be harder to replace.

Other than those two minor issues with the design of the JBL E55 it works great, sounds fantastic, fits my large head perfectly, and stays connected to my devices very reliably. Definitely my favorite bluetooth headphones yet.

Great quality, I wish it would have a little more bass to it, but I just tweak the settings on my songs equalizer.. it doesn't always do the trick but I don't mind it. I use these for the gym and they're great for it. Not too bulky, not too heavy, it's just right. I've had these for about a month now and so far no wear and tear. I think my favorite feature is that the part that goes over your ear can swivel flat that way when it's around your neck it's extremely comfortable. The battery life is awesome too, I can do days without charging it, I think this past month I've only charged it 3 times with moderate to light usage. Love that the logo is a little glossy and the rest of it has a matte finish. Great all around, definitely something I'd recommend.

Build quality is suspect

I am writing this now as i am trying to return the 2nd one of these that I purchased. The first one, the left ear stopped working after a month and a half...this one now refuses to charge after 2 months. Ugh!

I purchased these headphones for my son for Christmas. He loves them. He says they are very comfortable and sound great. I know the noise cancelling works because in order to get his attention, I have to wave my hands where he can see them. Great product that I would buy again.

this is not what you expect when you buy a headset for $120. they were good until the left ear has a very low sound compared to the right one. it seems low quality :(

Disappointed

I was twice disappointed with the headphones.

As shown in the pictures, the headset box had already been opened earlier and with various damages, but I bought a new product !!!

Second, the quality of construction is good, the wifi is good, but the sound quality is poor, as being a much cheaper headphones like U$ 30.00.

It seems that this headset was returned by another customer for some defect.

I had never bought JBL products but expected a lot more quality.

Cutting the cord never sounded so good

I've had these for over a month now and the sound quality is really good. It's a fairly neutral sound so basses are good, but not over powering, and the mids and highs are nice and crisp. I got these to replace a pair of corded Sony's and the sound is as good if not better. Don't forget to order a usb bluetooth adapter if you're using with a desktop, but beyond that I have no complaints. Glad I got it on a pre black Friday deal of $70, but I'd say they're worth full cost if you couldn't find such a good deal.

Very long battery life and comfortable over ear fit. I highly recommend them in the under S100 price range. They are not noise cancelling, but good seal and quality sound dull the noises around you.
