Great, idiot proof organizer for taming my wild sock drawer! IKEA Hemmnes dresser

Confession: I have organization OCD. Yes, it's something my therapist and I discuss on the regular. Something about finding things in life I can control since I can't control other things... ANYWAY, I have a very organized home/life. I look at Container Store catalogs the same way most women look at Nordstrom catalogs. Like many people I have a sock drawer that was a hot mess. I'm a research scientist and have to wear closed toe shoes every day. I also live in a cold climate. This means I have a lot of socks. From no show to ankle to sport to casual to dress. I stuff them in my drawer and can barely close it. I decided to give this cute little honeycomb a try to see how it did at wrangling all my many socks.

It arrived on time and well packaged. This thing is SUPER easy to put together. I mean, completely idiot proof. That's always refreshing! I also love that you can make your own custom size (within limits) and that there are different configurations you can use. If you don't like it, it's easy to take apart and reassemble another way!

This entire unit, fully assembled measures 14"x13.2" give or take (see pics) and has 18 enclosed spots for socks, though you can use the half open ones against the side of the drawer for peds, knee highs or no show socks as well (which opens up up to 10 more spaces).

The entire unit, fully assembled was smaller than my sock drawer width and length wise so it floats around a little bit when I open and close it. You can see how much extra space is left with it put in from my pictures. In terms of height, it was just right. My drawer is very small (only 3" tall) and at 2.6" this fit in perfectly.

As far as the actual holes go, I can only fit one pair of size 8.5 foot casual socks in each hole. However, I can fit up to 3 pair of no show socks in each hole. In truth, I can fit more socks in my drawer by stuffing them in like I've always done before, but this keeps it much more organized and pretty and I can sort by colors and don't have to dig around every time I'm looking for a specific pair or color. Honestly I'm a fan, especially for the price! I'll probably get one of these for my husband as well. FYI, my dresser is an IKEA Hemmnes 6 drawer chest if that helps.

Actually, I think this little honeycomb could have a lot of organizational uses. I may buy one when it's time to put away my Christmas ornaments! Though, the holes are too small to fit average size glass ball, I think they'd be perfect for most of our ornaments! I think it could be great for a craft and sewing room as well to sort thread or yarn, buttons, snaps, closures, beads, rubber bands etc. Useful indeed!

In summary, even though it isn't a perfect fit in my drawer and even though it cuts down the actual number of socks I can technically fit in the drawer itself, I'm happy that I bought this and will continue to use it because being organized is far better than being able to stuff a lot of stuff in a drawer and have to dig for what you want every time. I can definitely recommend it! Hopefully someone else finds this helpful.

Okay, admittedly, I am a bit of an organization freak. I purchased two of these organizers (yes, you do need two PER drawer) to organize my underwear drawer. I agree that $20 seems like a lot to pay for a few pieces of plastic to organize a drawer no one else really sees, but... It's totally worth it. The gratification I got from being able to see exactly what I had, neatly organized, easy to find... Wow. I definitely recommend this product. And the actual dividers are well made and super easy to assemble. As a previous reviewer said, the number of times you will look at your drawer and be totally satisfied makes the price well worth it.

The honeycomb organizatizer was easy to put together. It's made of thick, durable plastic (no weird smell). You can adjust the width that you want; this was very helpful as it fit my smaller IKEA Alex drawers perfectly by taking off one half. I can easily fit 2 pairs of long socks in a "comb" and 3 low cut socks. This organizer is fantastic and I highly recommend it, especially if you have the Alex drawers. I will be purchasing more.

Perhaps one of the better non basket style ways to organize small clothing pieces in a drawer that I've found to date. I tried another style that allows for size customization but found the unit to always shift during use. This piece remains in place after its set up in the drawer. It allows for me to keep track of socks and other small clothing well and I can easily see if I need to replace items that get worn over time. (Or if I'm losing one too many socks to the dryer monster.) I personally did not need to trim the plastic pieces to fit in my drawer, but if one did, it would require a sturdy pair of scissors.

Too narrow

The quality is worth the price and they assembled easily. My problem is the openings for these are pretty small. I thought they might fit rolled up scarves, or socks, but not unless they're only suitable for smaller items or very thin fabric. I'm not really sure what they're good for except dress socks, tights, etc. I guess. I'll have to find some other use for them. P.S. they could use one more piece in order to fill a drawer.

Great for small items, but won't fit bras

I actually bought these to organize my bras, but the cubbies are smaller than I expected so I wound up using them to sort socks and other small items around the house. I also kind of expected more cubbies for the price so I wound up buying a second pack. They work well though and fasten securely!

Fit nicely into my dresser drawer, was super easy to assemble, and nicely constructed. Using this to help organize my drawers so I can actually find stuff and so far so good!! The honeycombs are a bit larger than I thought so you can fit big fuzzy socks in them. Definitely happy with the purchase.

i was looking for a sock organizer and decided to try this. i needed to buy 2 of them but it was worth it if going to make my sock drawer neat where i could find exactly what i was looking for. no instructions but very easy to pop these together - it's like legos. took me about 5 min to assemble both and voila! would highly recommend!

Way over priced for cheap plastic. Maybe worth half the current price point. A tad to small for socks, especially thicker or longer socks. Save your money. You will probably end up losing storage space.

I love it for my sock drawer. It resolved all organization problems with one strike. The plastic feels solid.

One issue is that I do not understand why the seller does not offer it in increments of 1 piece, and generally that the price is too high for what it is. My drawer needed two sets (very easy to put together) plus one more piece. With that one more piece it would be perfect, but I cannot get that one little plastic piece without buying the whole set.
