Very Cute Costume - Sizing May Be A Problem For Some Dogs

This is an adorable costume. I have a 13 lb Shih Tzu and I purchased a small. I returned it for a medium. The small jacket was too short from neck to tail and back to floor and the headpiece was too large. Dogs come in all shapes, so I was not surprised. The headpiece is adjustable, but I know I will have to work with it some to make it fit better. It's just so cute that I am willing to do that! I have not yet received the medium and I will update this review when I receive it. We are ready for next Halloween!

Great costume

Was a bit worried about sizing when I ordered this. I ordered a small .My little guy is 7lbs. This fit him perfectly. Of course he hates it and the hood may need to be altered a bit so that it stays put. Thinking about cinching around next as well. Overall I love it.

Cute but dangerous in heat

Cute and fit perfectly. The only alteration I made was cutting out the ears so that my dog's ears could poke out instead. We used it in a local star wars themed parade. The small fit my 6 pound toy poodle perfectly.

The only reason I knocked off two stars in my review is that this costume is extremely hot. It does not allow for ventilation and cooling. If it is a cold time of year that works but if it is hot then this costume could easily cause a dog to overheat and they don't have a way to cool down from that.
I took every precaution during the parade, had him in the shade as much as possible, waited till the last minute to put the whole costume on, pulled it off immediately after the parade despite all this his skin was burning hot and he was panting like crazy when I took it off. Had to pour a couple bottles of water on him and rub him down with aloe. Luckily he only had to wear the full costume for fifteen minutes or less during the parade. Otherwise he could have been killed from overheating, something that happened to a friend's dog on a hot summer day.

So if you plan to put this on your dog during a cold winter day, go for it. If it is even slightly hot be very careful about making sure your dog doesn't overheat.

Good quality, sizing runs really small. My 35lb dog wears an XL. The hood was too big - I ended up cutting earholes so it would stay on his head. He looks more like a monkey than an Ewok, but it will work with the rest of our Star Wars costumes.

Lyric doesn't really need a costume to look like an Ewok but when you're going to a party you need a costume! I Purchased a size small for her she weighs about 7 pounds. It was a snug fit since both front and back legs go in the dark brown section you need to make sure you order the correct back length. She measures 12" from collar to base of tail, the costume measured 11". The hood has a draw string around the edge so you can make it fit just right. Nicely made.

Although it was cute we were unable to use the body of the costume for our 8lb dog . We ordered small which normally is what she would get and it acted like a girdle in her . So she only wore the hat and of course didn't live that !

I bought this for our Cairn Terrier because he sorta looks like an Ewok even without the costume, and, I cosplay as Slave Leia... so Halloween night, I wanted a sidekick! Anyhoo, I bought the SMALL, and it fits perfectly. Barney (our Cairn / Ewok) is around 8 pounds, not fat, healthy in the middle etc. Cairns are naturally kinda squat in the body, not "lean" (like, say, a Chihuahua or Yorkie). For a short dog with a tater-tot body, this would be perfect.

The arms are a good size, not restricting, and each leg has a hole for the costume. Barney is only used to his front legs going through his sassy old-man wintertime sweaters; so I might have to cut off the back legs of the costume and sew it accordingly - easy fix!

The headpiece may be another story though, for some dogs. Most dogs don't like "stuff" on their heads. Barney tolerated it long enough for some pictures, and will do OK on Halloween night during our 2 hours of handing out candy, ala Star Wars style. =D

All in all it's a high quality costume and very well made. And, totally customizable, if you need to do that, if your pooch has a big of a gut or fat legs. =D

Great for my Yorkie

This was very cute! It took me a bit to figure how to put on the body suit since there were no instructions or a picture showing it. I have an 8 lb tea cup yorkie, and bought a size small. It was a little snug on her but I think the medium would be too big.

I have two Coton de Tulear's whom are 4-months-old and weigh ~6pounds each: the base layer of this costume fits them each perfectly- they are able to move/jump/stand on their hind legs; the "˜hood' is comically large/only tightens around the face and will require me adding a few "˜stitches' near the neck. Overall, for the price, I highly recommend.
