This is the second kettle I bought. The first one melted around the whistle and no longer made a sound except for hissing of the water. Not sure why. I didn't have the fire too high, but this time around I'm really making sure to keep the flames around medium/low strength. I just love the sound the whistle makes. First time was weird but I've grown to love it. Best kettle I've owned.

Defective/Does Not Work Properly

The lid is too large to properly fit the teapot. It must be pushed very hard to close and is equally difficult to open.
