The CleverFit adjustable collar stays are my new accessory when dressing up. I wear dress shirts fairly often when going into the office or meeting with clients. I've found that the plastic ones included with my dress shirts tend to get lost in the laundry, are mismatched sizes and bend over time. In fact, I tested this today by buying a new shirt and the plastic collar stays were already slightly bent! I wanted to put the CleverFit metal collar stays to the test since they made the claim of being sturdy and adjustable. They come in a nicely made black plastic case with a snap closure and a contrasting blue inner holder for the 4 individual collar stays. The case keeps them securely in place for travel and this would easily pop in a suit pocket or luggage. I have dress shirts from various makers such as Brooks Brothers, J. Crew, Calvin Klein, Kirkland (Costco), etc... and they all seem to have different size collar stays. I've got spread collars, button down collars and forward point collars which add to the wide range of sizes necessary to wear my shirts properly. With this adjustable set of collar stays, now I don't have to worry about trying to pick through my ever-growing mismatched collection. These collar stays are great! They come well packaged, appear to be very durable, save a ton of time from having to sort through a myriad of collar stays and are easy to travel with. Almost perfect

Good product that gets the job done. These collar stays are very well built and are good quality. I've been using them for work (about 4 days a week for the past 5 or 6 months) and they show no signs of wear. They look just as good as the day I got them.

The ability to adjust is great - I used to have a huge pile of collar stays in several sizes, and I hated having to shuffle through and find just the right size for the shirt I was wearing for the day. Now I can just slide up and down to size for each shirt. It's a huge convenience.

I have a few complaints though. They're a little pricey (should be $20 tops - but they'll last you forever, assuming you don't lose them). Also, I was it was a hair thinner and a notch shorter. The smallest size is just a tiny bit too big for some of my shirts from Banana Republic and Express (medium size). This tells me that these stays might be too big for some smaller sizes. They're also much thicker than the average collar stay, but that's not a big deal for me.

NOT so impressive adjustable & NOT worth the cost

After reading my reviews I was hoping these would work for me. Wearing different manufacturers dress shirts seven (7) days a week I thought these would be the answer to the tight collar / professional look, I was sadly mistaken! Was hoping these would replace all the thin plastic collar stays, but could not even use them. Well admit I thought it might if just been me, but seems people have had the same issues. Very difficult to adjust these, and can see why others received finger injuries. These have a great potential to pinch your fingers. You have to "attempt" to disengage the lock mechanism, while setting these to the adjust to the desired collar length. I tired all four (4) of the stays and they were all very difficult to adjust.

After the frustration of trying to adjust the length I just threw a set in one of my high-quality shirts. Yes they prevented collar ends rolls, but that was the end of it. These do not hold the collar close to the shirt like the magnet style collar stays.

If you are looking just to prevent collar rolls, I would suggest getting a few sets of these. This way, if I can figure out how to adjust them, you can use them in that particular size and use the additional sizes, but at them point you could just purchase less expensive, non-injuring, metal stays.

They worked well once I oiled them (with Houdini, the locksmith's oil, not WD-40 or anything that would leave a reside and mess up the shirt's collar). Before that 3 out of 4 stuck so that I could not change their size.

I used them 1 time in a shirt with a notoriously difficult collar for most stays, and they were better than plastic, but a bit thick so the points of the collar folded up for about 1/8".

I also took them on my last business trip and it was nice just having 1 pair rather than the little plastic bag of several different sized pairs that I normally take with me.

Like the adjustable nature of these. I used to have the cheaper plastic ones that ended up everywhere in my drawer or bag from spilling out of the container. I can take this small package with me when I travel and not have to worry about which size I may need or what shirts I am bringing. I use them almost every day and have been totally happy. My only minor complaint was the interior plastic tray does not seem to stay friction fit to the outer casing so I had to glue it in place to keep it from popping out on occasion. Not really a big deal at all but it happened enough times to get me to resolve it.

I use these all the time and they work very well. My only complaint is that the stays don't remain full extended throughout the day. Over time in my collar they will compress down to the smallest size. This isn't a huge deal, but worth noting.

This is an awesome product! So glad I found this before Christmas - it was the perfect gift for all the guys! Solves a major headache for travel, and I'll be using it for every trip now. Easy to pack, easy to use, and strong metal construction makes this a winner for me! The package comes with two sets, so it's easily one set I can leave in the closet and one with my luggage so that I'm never short collar stays. I've seen reviews discussing the issue with wearing them through airport security - it hasn't been an issue for me yet, but its no big deal for me to just take them out before I go through the detectors and toss them into my carry-on bag.

I highly recommend this as an awesome gift idea for any guy who has to wear a suit or shirt and tie - makes like much easier, especially for a traveler!

My daughter bought a set like this for my birthday several years ago. A simple yet great gift. I lost a couple over the years, so I quickly replaced them with these. These are easily adjustable to fit almost any shirt collar. Though I do have 1 shirt that they are just slightly too long to fit. Otherwise, a great item that I use every day at work.

Very difficult to operate

Very difficult to extend nor retract. I guess, all the customers complaining about it easily collapsing were heard. Maker made it impossible to operate this time. My finger tips are already semi abraded. Wanted this one to work so bad. But it's so hard to operate, I can't even retract it to put back in its nice case :( bummer

Adjustable should be a term that only applies to things that can actually be adjusted. I tried repeatedly to adjust them but i cut my finger instead. Its fine if you dont need to adjust anything. Good for not creating plastic waste. Bad for long collars
