Well, it's a goofy product but it works wonderfully.

Well, it's a goofy product but it works wonderfully. I use it just for making hard boiled eggs, and for that, it excels. It easily fits a dozen large eggs with room for more. I use to use a large slotted spoon to carefully lower 3 eggs at a time. This would result in a few cracked eggs per batch, regardless of how carefully I lowered them. With the food pod, I get zero cracks and they all cook at exactly the same time, resulting in zero under or overcooked eggs.

This is perfect for my needs

This is perfect for my needs. It is soft and pliable so it easily stores in my instant pot. It can hold enough veggies to serve 3-4 people to 2 who really love their veggie. I did a quick batch of beans in the instant pot to consider them blanched for the freezer. So easy. It would be nice if they made one a little larger but this one has worked perfectly for us. Hugs

Just what I was looking for to make a dozen eggs

This has been handy in boiling a dozen eggs at a time.

Before we had this: We try to lower eggs into the water slowly so they don't crack - problem is this means it takes several minutes to put 12 eggs in the water. After the 14-minute timer goes off, you can't tell which egg went in first so you can take it out first. So eggs end up cooking for different lengths of time.

With this bag, you can lower the whole batch in together and take it out together, so the eggs all cook the same amount of time.

Excellent kitchen tool.

I make deviled eggs, egg salad and potato salad a lot. This makes boiling eggs so much easier. Fill the bag and drop it in the water. When you're done this makes transferring the eggs to a ice bath QUICK and easy.

Great for Hard Boiled Eggs

Since I've been using this it is so much easier to take the shells off my hard boiled eggs. I don't know why, but the shells don't stick on the white parts using this. I tried broccoli, not so good. A regular steamer is better for that since whatever is in this pouch will be submerged in water.

Fantastic! My Brussels sprouts don't get waterlogged! My potatoes don't float around the pot! And I can have my eggs all in one basket! Very convenient - I haven't begun to touch on the many diverse uses for this silicone basket! Love it!

pots are superior

I used it like, one time and then never again. Why? I was using it to boil vegetables but failed to realize the small opening with get caught on the vegetables pieces (like broccoli, cauliflower) and will break them when you take them out. Also, it takes a really large pot to completely cover the basket, and large pots are a pain to clean. I'm going back to just boiling vegetables freely in smaller pots now.

Wonderful egg basket!
by M and C (5 out of 5 stars)

Works like a charm. Can old up to 13 eggs, but prefer to boil 12 or less at a time.
1. Boil water
2. Slowly lower this basket into boiling water for 12 minutes
3. Slowly remove from water and place into water & ice bath
4. Let sit in ice water for 15+ minutes
5. Remove eggs and refrigerate for breakfast - the eggs peel SO easily it's a joy (the basket doesn't ensure easy to peel, the boiling first does, the basket just makes it easier to slowly lower the eggs into the already boiling water resulting in fewer split eggs)
