Icecap a warm flop

This product is useless. We bought it with high hopes and anticipation, a great solution for enjoying crisp cold beverages without having to store them in the fridge taking up precious space. Despite following directions explicitly and preparing the icecap in the freezer for days (only 8 hours required), results were pathetic. White wine poured through the device was barely cooler than room temperature. False advertising. This product is a flop!

This is an interesting accessory. I am the only one in my family that drinks white wine, so we don't often keep it in the refrigerator. So this is a convenient way to quickly get chilled wine. However, I find that I have to pass the wine through it twice to get the proper chill. I have only used it two times, so I don't have a lot of experience with it. One somewhat serious issue is that the plating seems to be very thin, and even though I have only used it twice, it has been in my freezer for a year or so and mine has corroded around the top metallic edge. I was able to clean it off but it should not happen.

Fail chiller

Put in freezer for over 48 hours (far longer than instructed) and after the first pour the wine was barely cooler than room temperature. The inventor has this invention-story-board art on the side of the packaging that does not even come close to how amazing and useful it claims. Back to the drawing board buddy.

I just tried mine out for the first time. Wine was at 55 degrees when I brought it up from my basement wine closet (in the middle of winter). After a pass through the Icecap it was 42 degrees in the glass. Even a bit cooler than I would usually go for, but it came back up a few degrees quickly in the glass.

Purchased this for my son for Christmas. I didn't have to do any research on this, he used Amazon's want list feature. He said he was a little surprised at the heft of this, but that it does a great job. He is very happy with it. And I am happy that he's happy! It arrived in plenty of time for Christmas.
