Goodbye mosquitos!!

We have several Thermacel units, all of which work great! This one, we bought for our carport because we sit out every evening and enjoy the quiet time. This unit seems to use about twice as much butane as our other units. It is bigger and covers our whole entire area and mosquitoes are no where to be found. We like the fact that these units are mobile and can be taken anywhere.

Use this on all the camp outs. It keeps the bugs at bay. I purchased the refill kit that comes with the longer lasting pad and it matches the life of the butane cartridge. I store them both inside the lantern. First used this in MN at boundary waters and was impressed. I believe in dual use items so there is less to carry and this fits that. Updated 7/18/19: After a year my original thermocell still works but the lantern just flames out. I spent 30min trying to light it watching the mosquitos swam around me. Finally I gave up and went back to the regular thermocell using the same butane cartridge and it lit the first try. The lantern was getting fuel and would flash and flame out. It lit for 5 min and that was all I could get. The original does the trick. Too bad because I really need a dual purpose device.

We used the thermaCELL Mosquito repellent camping lantern on several occasions this summer. It worked very well with no use of spray repellents whatsoever. While camping, we heard many folks complaining about the mosquitos, but over the course of four days, only one of us (out of 5) was bitten by a mosquito, and that was out of range of this product. Overall< i give it an A+.

Perhaps you could design a similar product to repel the uncouth rednecks that camped next to us.

I was skeptical of this product, but after using it on a four day camping trip, I'm sold. It kept two tents in our campsite mosquito free all night. The disadvantage is that the butane cylinders last only one night.

I've used the Thermacell lantern while using a telescope at night, and it keeps mosquitoes away.

If your camping somewhere with mosquitoes, this is a must.

Will not work well in wind but mosquitoes can't fly well or swarm in wind above 3-4 mph usually.

I have these for sitting out at my outside back patio area to keep the mosquitos away. I also have the pocket one that worked out well on vacation last summer in northeast Maine which has lots of mosquitos. The best solution as a repellent for me. Highly recommended!

No more bites or buzzing

I like it, took me a few to figure out for aure it was on. I like how the repellent and light are separate. Don't need one for the other. I was laying in my hammock when I heard busy, turned it on and waved it around the area then set it next to me. Buzzing gone and no bites!!

Missing the repellent pads!

A little bulky, but it has dual purpose as lantern and mosquito repellent. It DOES NOT come with the pad. Odd , came with the butane but both of the lanterns I got are missing. Good thing I had some back up.

Lantern gives off good light, and keeps mosquitoes away. I've used it just for light, just for repellent and with both going. Works well in back yard or camping.
