Not what I hoped for...

First one I received didn't hold a charge, or my new one doesn't seem much better. Literally waited for years to buy one at a better price, and now i'm very unhappy from the videos to what I have now. Gyro seems incredibly unresponsive and slow compared to the companies videos. I have to delete the app to connect the dark side every time I use it, which on an iPhone means deleting, resetting phone, and then redownloading the app. And one last note, the "calibration feature" works for about 20 seconds and then loses track of your location. Which means it will literally get stuck completely if you are too close to a wall and it can't back up because it thinks your in front of the device.

Best to use it in wide open areas

My husband loves this! Only obstacle we have is keeping our dogs from chasing it! Best to use it in wide open areas, so as not to damage baseboards or furniture

Fast shipping, product was returned after few days. It turns out to be a defective piece. Battery lasted only 10 minutes. I contacted Sphero Technical Support. After trying a few things, Sphero advised to return it because of defective batteries.

These are great to play with and seemingly indestructible. Checkout YouTube for tricks. Get some ramps to crank up the fun. Even the little kids in the neighborhood can operate this.

I met my nephews for the first time in 3 years. So I wanted to give them some impressive gifts, this one and a sphero bb-8 droid. Those surely worked and I'm the best uncle now.

CAUTION : check and see if the toy works before you meet the children, if this is a gift for children. It takes a very long time to be updated and be faired with your smartphone at first time, and kids are.. you know, not that patient ;) Also, I'd recommend you to learn how to drive it before you give it to them. It was a little bit tricky to me at first time and it somehow made me from the coolest uncle to a dumbest one...

Everything is cool except for the directional control. I'm an RC Pilot and expect decent feedback for this price but constantly battling to get it unstuck after it jams itself into something.

Bought this for my teenage son who finally got to try it on this week. The battery stays charged less than 3 seconds. $100 for a 3 second battery. Now to figure out if it is still under any kind of warranty. What a waste of my money and now of my time!!
