Bought this along with a set of agar plates to test it for ourselves. We swabbed my daughter's and husband's phones before and after use. It does work. We are very happy with the product.

Best way to sanitize your phone/device!

I work in a large dental clinic with 50+ docs and even more assistants. Anyone who knows about dentistry knows that there are a lot of aerosols given out during almost every procedure. Since we don't have a radio in the operatories, I've had to use my phone for music. Before phone soap I had to wipe my phone down every time with Cavicide wipes...not the best for your phone.

Enter PhoneSoap! I'm able to sanitize my phone without destroying it with cavicide! We've even tested and swabbed the phone for cultures before and after...this sucker works! Hands down, great investment. I'll be buying another one for the home because this one is staying in my office.

Company made it right!

The phone soap is cool and all but what would be really cool is if it worked all the time. When you close the lid, it is supposed to automatically kick on and start doing it's thing. With mine, you have to open and close it several times, unplug it, open and close it several more times before it kicks on. I messaged Phone Soap twice, a week or so apart, and never heard back. This is too expensive to be ignored by customer service.

UPDATE: Changed rating from 1 to 5 stars. Customer service reached out to me and fixed the problem. They went WAY above and WAY beyond to make it right. I don't want to list the specifics other than they replaced my unit, provided me with a few extras, and send a hand written note from their customer care team. It floored me! They knocked it out of the park.

The phone soap works as advertised. My phone comes out and it feels cleaner. Im sure there's no difference but it feels clean. I love the charging port and the amount of room inside the phone soap. My S8 has PLENTY of room. Thanks phone soap!

Doesn't work properly after 4 months

I really loved this product. 4 months later it does not work properly. It does not turn on when closed and also sometimes the light won't turn off as it's suppose to after 10 minutes. It was on all night last night and wouldn't shut off. Very bummed.

Poor quality and Not Smart

While I really wanted to like this device it has 2 problems. One is a design problem and the other a quality issue.

First, the quality. I've had it for about a week and it's already not always turning on when the lid is closed.

Second, the design flaw. The unit was designed to turn on when the lid is closed. Easy. The problem is that when it's done cleaning your phone you take it out and close the lid so starts working again for another 10 min. Makes no sense. The unit should have either had some sort of sensor that would activate the device only when something is inside or have an on/off switch.

Overall, while I like the concept I am not very happy with this purchase.

Doesn't close properly & now doesn't work

Works well but it doesn't close properly. I have to rattle the top to get the thunder bolt to light up so I know it's working. I don't see anywhere on my order where I can exchange it either.
**Update** Now it doesn't work. I wouldn't purchase, great concept but it's poorly made.

Honestly, I was skeptical at first, but I have a Bio degree so I get excited about things like this and had to check it out. It definitely passed the test! I highly recommend watching the test video on the PhoneSoap website - I loved seeing the lab results (completely clean petri dish compared to a filthy control) - and the science speaks for itself. Very nifty product, works great and easy to use.

Actually I did a lot of research on this type of sterilization of phones before I bought this. Everything I found by scientists or electronics reviewers said that it does in fact kill all those gross germs that are ALL OVER our phones. You can't see it-the phone doesn't look any different when you take it out, but I'll trust the experts who say this light is working. It makes me feel better after I clean it so I guess that's a win.

I just received my PhoneSoap unit and I already love it! It only took a few minutes to sanitize my phone and it's as simple as plugging the unit in, and closing the lid, and the quality is great! I 'washed' my keys and cash too...other germ-ridden things we touch all the time! I'm purchasing PhoneSoap products for my kids this Christmas!

SIMPLE! I really liked the ease of operation; you simply put your phone in, close the top and it automatically sanitizes the phone with ultraviolet light in about 10 minutes (though i didn't really time it). Once the light goes out your phone is sanitized and ready to go. You can even charge your phone while it's being cleaned!!

I also liked the sanitizer's styling; it reminds me of the sleek look of Apple products. I wish it was a little smaller but I understand they had to make the "bay" big enough for phones of all sizes-- that way I won't have to buy a new sanitizer if I buy a bigger phone!
