Great design, easy assembly

I have been buying tiered planter shelves as I'm expanding my plant collection over the past year. This one showed up in my Amazon search results only recently and looked promising. There were no other reviews and I was a little bit hesitant, but I decided to give it a try.

The assembly is a breeze. A screwdriver is needed. The shelf is only 3 parts and it took me only 5 minutes to assemble. At first, I thought the wire racks that hold the pots looked a bit flimsy, but the pots are actually quite secure after being installed properly. The pots can still be easily removed after installation, in case you need to move the entire planter. The drain holes are designed such that the water on the upper shelves would cascade towards to the lower ones. If you're using it indoors, it comes with a plug that can be placed on the bottom-most drain hole.

One of the plastic pots came with a small crack on it though. It doesn't affect the functionality so I decided it was not worth the hassle to exchange it.

Looks great against the wall. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase! Would buy again when I'm getting more plants.

Since I live in a small apartment, I didn't think I could grow much. However, this planter has given me ample space to garden. I'm growing tomatoes, Japanese eggplant, cucumber, spinach, and romaine lettuce. The planter is space efficient and easy to assemble. Extra bonus points: Easy removal of each layer allows for gardening ergonomically. No back pain!

Exactly what we were looking for! My daughter has recently become interested in gardening and the Vertical Garden is perfect for our small urban patio. It was quick and easy to set up out of the box. However, the middle wire was not attached when we received it so we thought it was broken. We had some back and forth emails with Outland Living, they sent us a replacement, which also didn't work. Then they realized and informed us that the middle wire support works differently than the others- it just sort of holds the middle bin in place but does not stand up on its own like the other wire supports. So the original part was not actually broken. We set it up with them on the phone and now it works perfectly. Outland Living was prompt and super helpful through the whole process. We are very happy with the vertical garden and with the service we received.

Salad Garden

I bought this for my father, who is 90. He wanted to plant radishes like when he was a kid. I have a tiny backyard with little ground and there was no room for a line of radishes.

In the planter, so far we got five rows of radishes, planted two weeks apart. Looking forward to the harvest.

I grow exclusively in pots (because our soil sucks in the yard), and as my herb collection expands, it gets harder and harder to find place for them with adequate sunlight! I liked the design of this so I could take advantage of a retaining wall on my patio. It's the best design I've seen, as it allows water to drain from one pot to another to save water, and because of that steep angle required, has the most planters, compared to similar products.

Set up was an absolute breeze. The frame is STURDY - thick steel and has a good, solid feel to it once assembled - I'm not worried about it collapsing or falling over in a summer storm. The planters have two grooves so they really "snap" in securely, but would be no problem to remove easily.

My only beef: one tiny drainage hole per planter box. I get it, it is marketed to be indoors or out, so they supply drain plugs that will stop water from ruining your floors. But man, drainage is key for healthy potted plants. I will be drilling holes in a line along the backside of each planter, so the water cascade continues but my plants can breathe.

The concept for this planter is excellent. The design works very well with drain holes that drain down into the planter below. I am very happy except the black powder coating is rusting up at top where it is visible. It is not worth returning item but feel it is just a matter of quality control that should be aware of.

So easy to put together. Took 2 people but was really fast. The pots filled with dirt no problem and I planted right away. Total setup and planting took 1 hour.

Absolutely love this! I've had it for two months and my herbs love it! Drainage has not been an issue and I have gotten multiple compliments on it. Easy to assemble and well worth the price. Adds color and character to our patio.
