I've got to tell you, I was very skeptical that this product would cook my oatmeal in my microwave and not boil over the top. I'm very happy to report that when cooking a standard serving of oatmeal (1/2 cup oatmeal and 1 cup water) on high in the microwave it cooked perfectly. And, the blue portion of the bowl really protected my fingers from the high temperature of the inner white bowl.

Unfinished Ceramic

It had two large-ish blemishes inside the bowl -- exposed stone where the ceramic wasn't glazed (see image). It's technically usable, but I didn't pay for rough, unfinished ceramic -- this unit should have been sold as having cosmetic defects. Not only is it unsightly, the blemishes make it harder to clean and harder to tell when it's clean. It also exposes the internals of the bowl to the elements, which could reduce durability.

The bowl was also slightly chipped on the rim, but not enough to bother me.

I use this thing daily! I live alone and eat most my meals in front of a screen in a t-shirt and my underwear. As we all know the microwave heats your bowl first and your food last and.even then often just the edges get hot with the center still cold. With this plastic gizmo I can get my food piping hot and not burn my legs holding it to eat. My microwave is on top of my fridge and a little over my head. I always worried about spilling hot liquid on myself. The handle on it allows me to safely get stuff out even without hot pads or gloves without worrying about a scalding spill.

I also like that I can use other bowls like some others have mentioned in their reviews and they fit perfectly. The little lid snaps snugly in place and stops those hard to clean spatters and is so handy to use. Overall I think the two plastic pieces would be well worth the price even without the bowl.

Last night I discovered it not only insulates be from hot bowls but cold as well. Works perfect for ice cream. OK so sometimes it takes me a bit to connect the dots but this thing is fantastic.

So I make a lot of soups and I don't use plastic , I bought this to try , I thought with the top I could just preload the soups and store in the fridge and me and the kids can just take it out and microwave it, the top has a venting hole in it, which means I can't store it in the fridge like I wanted, maybe if your ok with your food not being sealed correctly this won't be a problem for you but I am the air right seal kinda person

I do love how easy it is to handle , seriously making my life easier in that respect

I was planning to buy a dozen to pre portion out right now I use portion control with glasswear but it gets too hot in the microwave , but I absolutely won't be buying any more, but I will use it occasionally when I am the only one having soup , otherwise it will just double my dishes and I do way too many of those anyway

OMG...had this one for years. Tripped at work and broke the ceramic bowl. I became frustrated with using paper towels at work on other microwave containers to keep from burning myself so I finally got smart and decided to see if I could find a replacement. I was ecstatic to find this exact same one. It is awesome!!! I do appreciate the ceramic bowl as it does not stain with tomato sauces, washes up nicely. I bought one for the office and one for the home. I have a tendency to buy extras in case something is discontinued so I might by more. I'm doubting I paid the same price at Garden Ridge 10+ years ago but I like it that much so I was just happy to find it again. Great gift for coworkers too. To my knowledge, there is nothing out there on the market just like it. Enjoy.

Absolutely Perfect!

Perfect! I love heating food up in glass/pyrex type containers. I just think it's better and makes the food consistently hot. But, getting glass out of the microwave was getting more and more difficult for me. This little gizmo solved the problem. It is absolutely perfect. I highly recommend this product for anyone having difficulty with getting things out of the microwave.

Wow. Brilliant idea. I no longer cook food in plastic. I sorta wish I could get a bunch of the bowls and then like 2 of the plastic parts as the bowls are the things you really need to clean after each use.

I received these bowls a couple of weeks ago and already used them about 10 times! They are great for eating cereals in bed, reheating leftovers in the microwave with the vented cover and then eating in front of the TV. I can hold the bow very comfortably with one hand while I eat, doesn't matter hot or cold. The bowls are a great size for a meal. I'm buying more just in case I break one. I paid full price for these items and love them!

I had one of these before and I had to buy more! They're so useful. I bought two of the blue bowls. The bowl itself is durable and easy to clean, but I worry about the life of the blue plastic container that holds the bowl, specifically the handle which constantly holds the weight of the bowl when it is lifted. It is easy to clean, but some areas are a bit difficult to get to with a sponge.

Overall, this is such a lifesaver for literally anything that I want to microwave. I even made tea with it a few days ago. Super versatile!

Great for Multiple Uses

These help me safely grab leftovers from a microwave placed above my head. Also, they can be used alone or in the holders for many uses. I use them both ways for serving bowls as well as for eating soup, cereal, etc. in front of the TV. The simple white bowl goes with any place setting for serving side dishes. My friend likes to use the plastic holders for dry snacks like popcorn. The ergonomic handle system makes heating, storing and eating a safer, more comfortable experience for anyone who may need to eat from a bed or wheelchair. Sadly, the bowls probably won't survive being dropped on the floor, thus my most recent purchase. I found that the bowls are sturdier made than the ones I bought some years ago. Highly recommend.
