O SOOOO disappointing b/c I really loved how cute it looked

This toaster never worked right. It severely burns EVERYTHING I put in it every single time. Burns it charred-black where it is inedible. I see smoke coming out of it every single time I've used it as if the toast is on fire or something! It scares me every time. The heat setting control is a false illusion b/c you literally have NO control of setting it lower or higher; it is the same temperature level no matter where you set it= burnt charcoal black setting where smoke pours out! :O SOOOO disappointing b/c I really loved how cute it looked, but it is nonfunctional and now I cannot return it nor refund it. I am SOOO bummed. It is also too small to put practically anything in it. It barely fits a slice of bread width-wise so bagels (which are thicker) are out of the question. The heighth is too low as well b/c my bread always sticks out of the top and thus, the top never gets toasted. :( =sigh= Also, there seems to be a flaw in the design of the metal plate holders inside b/c my bread frequently would fall through the openings of the metal inner plates and would get stuck every time. It would get so jammed that everytime I'd try to pry it out, it would tear apart and thus, would be that much harder to get out the smaller stuck piece. The torn slices of bread would make it hard to make sandwiches out of or to put spreads on the smaller piece, etc. The torn pieces would make an incredible mess of crumbs. It is always a HUGE pain in the rear end and it makes it not look pretty when it is all shredded/torn. =sigh=. Don't buy if you actually need to toast anything. Only buy if you just want to look at the outside for decoration--not to actually use.

I love this little toaster. It's not perfect quality, but come on. It burns little domo faces into your toast. Everyone who's come over wants a piece of toast.

And when I say burn, I really mean burn. Sometimes they're kind of or really off-centered. But mainly you just have to put your toast in right.

I haven't had any issue with any shorts or fire like some other people have said. I did have a piece of toast get stuck once because the metal has become slightly warped on one side.

Overall, I really like it and don't regret it. It has a knob for settings, crumb tray, and looks just like (maybe even better) than the picture.

Oh. And don't put pop-tarts in there. It warms them, but the print doesn't work.

Amazing Domo results!

My kids are all into Domo ( kids ages 29, 27 and 21) - go figure! So when my oldest son moved into a new apartment I thought the Domo toaster would be the PERFECT housewarming gift. My daughter was so excited when she saw the picture on the box and realized that it didn't just look like Domo but it actually produced toast that looked like Domo! They tried it out immediately and sent me pictures of the well defined perfect Domo burned into the bread! I hope I'm able to share the image in this review but if not, trust me, it was AMAZING! Thank you Amazon for the perfect gift for my 'young at heart' grown up kids!

Great novelty item. Yes it does toast that image onto bread. The back side is normally toasted. Yes it does burn the image in but it's very little burning so it doesn't taste that much. Just remember this thing is almost all plastic so the first few uses, there is going to be some burning/melting plastic smell. Unavoidable with this kind of stuff. Would definitely recommend.

Adorable, but only fits really small slices of bread. The plate that burns in the image of domo-kun works a little too well, so make sure you keep the cook settings a little lower than you'd normally set for. It's held up really well over the last 6-ish month!

its pretty cool, domo face comes out well, basically only bread fits in it right for toasting, and one time the spring cut through my bread and got burnt and stuck in there. novelty only, don't use this everyday.

Meh, cute but the monster is literally a burned section that is toasted way more than the other part of the bread. Really depends on what bread is used too, cottage bread doesn't even show any indication that there is a pattern.

This is a cute toaster, which would be great for a gift for someone. It's turns making toast into fun initially when showing it to someone who hasn't seen it before. The toaster is quite small, and can only toast 2 pieces of bread at a time, which is ok most of the time. The imprint toasts the image quite darker for the effect, so if you don't like your toast really toasty, there will still be the one part that is still crispy. The toaster looks nice even when not in use, so that's a plus.

Who wouldn't with this little guy burnt into every slice makes it kind of nice to finally have breakfast now. Add strawberry jam and make it look like he's eaten something wild

I like tomo kun and pretty much like to see this cute face in the morning.I don't believe it makes my breakfast delicious but makes my day better.
