Not charging properly or storing charge; items returned.

Very disappointed. I purchased multiple LuminAID products recently (4 Spectras, 2 Novas and 1 Supercharger). I had no problem with the Spectras, but after initially testing the 2 Novas and the Supercharger, I left them in full sunlight for over 2 days straight and they still only recharged about halfway as indicated by the charge meter (2 out of 4 on the meter). I live in South Florida and purchased these to store at home and on my boat for emergencies. I'm very glad I tested them in advance before finding out down the line that they were either not producing sufficient energy to recharge the battery, or that the batteries were simply not holding the charge. Should not take more than 2 days of direct sun to recharge the batteries fully as opposed to halfway.

Waste of money. Did not recharge vía sun a single time!

I'm SO disappointed with this thing! I recharged when you plug it in but it NEVER ONCE recharged via the solar panel. Biggest waste of money! I bought another $15 dollar solar light that was brighter and worked phenomenally. So upset I wasted so much money on this piece of garbage. Wish there was a way I could return it and get my money back but probably isn't since I bought it so far in advance of my trip. Seriously, it's a great idea in theory. Don't waste your money!

Stay connected even when you are out of power

First and foremost, I am a HUGE fan of LuminAID and have a number of their products in my Hurricane/Emergency kit. I have 4 different LuminAID products in my "kit" so that in the event of long term power loss, I will have light and power constantly, by using 1 and keeping 3 charging, and rotating them.

This product is another great addition to their line, and gives you the ability to keep your cell phone in use, when you have no power. As we have become more and more dependent on our cell phones, this product allows you to keep in touch, as long as the "towers" are still up. Yes, there are plenty on battery back ups on the market, but those are going to run out of juice if you are out of power for any amount of time. THIS product is renewable, as long as you can get sunshine on it!!

Think of all the people STILL without power in Puerto Rico, and how a product like this is keeping them able to communicate to their loved ones some 4 months after Hurricane Maria hit.

GREAT company. GREAT product.

We bought this for a friend who does mission work in Africa, he said it works great for him. Said it lights up the camp at night and everyone is amazed at it. Loves that he can keep his cell phone charged.

We will explore ordering more for him to take on his next trip to hand out.

You need this for camping!

This is one of the best purchases I have ever made for camping! Has ability to dim, hung it on the inside of the tent for great lighting. Also tried charging my phone with it, went from 8% to 80% in about one hour. Completely satisfied. Charging solar does take a while, but I live in the Southwest with plenty of sunshine. Not sure how fast it'd charge with clouds all day.

Gave this as a gift and they have already needed to use it as their power went out. They were able to keep their phones and ipads charged. I'm going to order one for myself!

Great Customer Service

Our lantern would not charge phone and light lased only 15 minutes. We had purchased it in February, but had not tried it until we went camping in May. I figured we were just out the $50, but I contacted the company about the problem anyway. We couldn't have had better service. We received an answer to email within 1 hour and a replacement within 2 days ! This one works as advertised. We are very happy with the product !

Perfect for emergencies...

I got this for my grandson, who has taken a teaching job in Thailand, for the monsoon times when power might go out. I had purchased two of the regular ones for my in-law in the Phillipines and when my son and DIL got there, there was an earthquake and power outages. They used them for a week in the hotel.

Have two for myself.......need to get one with the phone charger. I highly recommend this product.

Phone charger never worked!
by bikergal (1 out of 5 stars)
April 28, 2019

I am convinced that all the 4 star reviews for this product must be fake. While the light is bright and great for illuminating in & around your tent, I could never get the phone charger to work. I fully charged the light at home using the usb, but while camping, the phone would charge for maybe 10 seconds before stopping. I had to re-connect my phone every 10 seconds. Not convenient, Lumonaid. I want my money back!
