First thing is first,...I do not work for the company, nor do I have a vested interest in whether you purchase this product or not. I am only writing this review, not for the manufacturer, but for you and others like you, that are suffering from hair loss. Alright,...let us begin.
What you want to know is whether this device works, and if so, is it worth the money. Well,...I can tell you that it works, yes, it does benefit the reduction and also the regrowth of hair follicles. If you want to know that science of what the device does, you can see countless videos made that discuss what light therapy does to your scalp. Is it worth the cash? For me, it was. For you, well,..it's your money, so I can only suggest that it is cheaper and way less invasive that a hair transplant. Now, that being said, if you are bald and have not seen hair follicles in years, this device will not help you. If have thinning hair and want to make your hair thicker and regrow hair follicles that are not gone, but simply dormant, this device will do what it promises.
I want to say two more things and then I am gone. First, you are going to find more expensive and also cheaper machines that promise the same thing as this device. DO YOUR RESEARCH. The more expensive ones are simply that, more expensive. The cheaper ones, well, they are trash. You'll find that the cheap ones are just l.e.d. bulbs and no laser. This type of device will do nothing but aggravate you and waste your time and money. Second thing, and this one you should really take to heart. This device alone, will only do so much. Think of this device as the sun. Think of your hair as the grass. Think of your scalp as the dirt. Your body, more importantly, what you put in it, feeds your scalp. My point is,...diet, namely yours. I'll use myself as an example. I don't smoke. I eat very healthy. I work out. I take the appropriate vitamins and minerals. I clean my scalp with a DHT blocker shampoo. I use a honey based conditioner. I do also use an over the counter minoxidil.
Just know that it will not be one thing that saves you from your hair loss. It will be multiple things, the right things, that turn things around for you. Do your research and stay committed to a specific routine. I hope the very best for you as you go on this journey, but do something today, because once your hair is gone,...it's not going to come back on it's own.

Where do I begin? My hair has had such a positive reaction to this device, I almost cannot believe what I am witnessing. Look, you are most likely reading this because you are freaking out about losing hair.

Stop.

Everything you read online, ignore it all. I am going to give you the regimen that actually helps without you reading 500 pages. I went crazy & was hitting near depression trying to figure it out. Believe me when I say I really didn't think I would be here today. This actually helped me and I thought I was going to look 50 at 26 years old. This is it guys. Holy crap.
1. Buy this damn cap and wear it every two days for 25 minutes as instructed - it works. No they didn't pay me to say this.
2. Take 1mg of Finasteride per day
3. Use Nizoral shampoo once every 3 days - leave shampoo in for 4-5 minutes
4. Use OGX Thick & Full Biotin & Collagen Shampoo on the other days, leave in for 4-5 minutes
5. Take one Biotin supplement - 10000 mcg per day
6. Don't eat like you hate yourself. Drink lots of water.

That's it. No, you don't need Rogaine. It may help to do that too, but keep in mind - you don't want to over stimulate your scalp. Keeping the scalp healthy will give you results.

I was told by dermatologist that I had Alopecia areata and my hair wouldn't grow back especially on top. I researched and found irestore in June made purchase July and end December my hair is thriving. I am using Nioxin shampoo/conditioner plus a prescription clobetasol foam. Most companies state People with dark pigmentation shouldn't use light therapy and irestore had the scale that suggested other wise. I am extremely happy with results so far and hopefully end of 2019 my hair is back to normal plus some!

I've been using this for three months every other day and it's really growing back my hair.

I was using Minoxidil before but decided to stop using it, with in a month or two my hair started falling out like crazy. Typical crown and front thinning.

It's all filling in and not falling out.

My husband has been loosing his baby fine hair for 25 years. I would cut his hair with a #2 razor and die a little every time because I would see more skin than hair on top of his head. I saw reviews and FDA approval on a few hair laser growth systems. I have been using iRestore for 6 weeks. I am seeing a modest amount of improvement at this point. I am not sure if it is new hair or just healthier existing hair. It is too early to expect significant growth or true "restoration". It is about on par with what my expectations were (my assumption going in was that it would be 4-5 months before I would notice any real improvement). I will report back again then.
6 Month Update: I am attaching an image. I am happy with the results and am satisfied with my purchase. I would describe the products performance as modest regrowth, slowed or possibly stopped loss, and healthier existing hair. I am not using Rogaine or Propecia, so the results are from the iRestore.

I am a forty-something female with thin blond hair that has been thinning over the past few years. In the last 6 months, my hair loss has been going in overdrive due to some extra stress in my life. I was to the point where I was feeling quite desperate about my hair loss. So I was willing to spend the money on this device. I call it my laser light helmet. I've been using it for 6 weeks and I have definitely noticed new hair growth all over the top of my head (where my hair has been thinning out the most). My hairdresser confirmed that I have new hair growth. I am so excited that this is working. It is so easy to use. You put it on your head, hook it up to power and let it go for 25 minutes. I work at my desk, play games on my phone, read a book, etc during the 25 minutes. I knew the hair brush with laser light (a different product) wouldn't work with my lifestyle because I wouldn't want to hold the hairbrush on my head and move it every 10 minutes. Life is too short. I am really happy I bought this product and I would definitely recommend it to others, in fact I already have!
4 month update: Undeniable new hair growth! My hair is thicker and fuller. I have about 1inch of new hair growth all over the top crown of my head. I'm also no longer losing lots of hair. UPDATE, Summer 2019:

By working with Madelaide I was able to come to a satisfying conclusion to the issue of the non-working helmet: change my feedback in exchange for a used (repurposed), functioning, replacement helmet. I deliberated on whether this constituted "buying" my integrity, and concluded that it did not: While I am still somewhat ambivalent as to the iRestore's efficacy for me, the chief issue I had was in their troubleshooting, repair, and replacement options. So, reluctantly, I agreed to change my feedback (noting that I was informed that "3 stars still constitutes negative feedback" on Amazon). In the end, I would have certainly preferred more technical troubleshooting (and this is something iRestore ought to give due to the high cost of its product) and repair options that don't come at another $300+ hit to customers. Madelaide, due to your hard work and great customer service to me, please take my stars and thank you.

There are few first-world problems that alarm men more than their thinning, waning hair. I am one of them, and so a nicely marketed product with "FDA cleared" stamped on it, with some scientific laser diodes and nice looking before or after pictures was enough for me to plop down nearly $600 for the iRestore. My review will comprise two parts: 1. Using it for a year, and 2. When it stopped working.
1. Using it for a Year

The iRestore arrived and despite my skeptical attitude (something like "well I have disposable income...if it just "maintains" my hairline it will be well worth it...and what if it REALLY REALLY works like the ads suggest? Then it will be worth many times that amount!!!") I must confess I was excited. The helmet is easy to use, store, and one can read or meditate or watch shows or work while wearing it. It's a conversation starter, or at least easily hidden if one is embarassed. I used it every other day as required, and all it requires is: put it on, plug it in, turn it on, hit start, and wait till your session is over. After a few months, I received "checkups" from iRestore staff asking how things were going. They offered me some thickening shampoo for free in exchange for a "positive review". I said of course I'd take the free sample, and wrote a review on their website with the truth: I couldn't notice any real changes, but nothing had gotten worse. Something like that (I'd told the iRestore staffperson who'd made the offer the same thing and they replied "well that's great, keep using for potentially better results!").

The timing of this is key: iRestore offers (or offered) a FULL REFUND if not satisfied, but it's a window that only lasts several months. Meanwhile, they state that noticeable results may not occur until after this period has expired. For anyone, like me, who wants to stick with a cost that may or may not work, there are probably very few of us who would ask for a refund before giving it a true college try. No doubt, iRestore is banking on this.

TO CONCLUDE PART 1, I found the helmet to be easy to use if not discernibly efficacious. I continued to shed hair, but I didn't suddenly go bald nor did I notice any of the infamous Rogaine-created "little light colored hairs" popping up in my recession areas. If it ended here, I'd have given the product 3 stars.
2. When it suddenly stopped working

After about a year and a half of using iRestore and viewing it as something that might not be actively helping, but wasn't hurting, it stopped working. Literally, I had used it on a Monday, and Wednesday, it wouldn't start. I emailed iRestore and described my issue: I put the helmet on, turn on the power, hit "Start", but the diodes don't come on and the digital screen just continually blinks "25:00". Restarting it, different outlets, nothing worked.

The instructions I received asked me to make sure I was following the basic instructions properly. They asked me to document via video me using the iRestore step by step, which I did. I was told that their "product engineers" for troubleshooting. The response I received was good: "I already forwarded the video to our technical team and I'm glad to inform you that they approved the replacement process. In order to proceed, kindly provide your order number." I accepted, hey, who knows, maybe it was having the effect of slowing down my hair loss...and in the end...who could ask for more? Unfortunately, I was past the one year warranty! I was told my only option was to buy either a brand new unit, or a less expensive, refurbished iRestore for $347.00

Now, warranties are warranties, I understand. We take that risk. But this was not a damaged unit. This was a malfunctioning unit. Again, malfunctions are covered only in warranty. But this was a malfunctioning unit that cost nearly 600 dollars and DOES NOT come with any options for repair or true troubleshooting.

And so here's the One Star reason, and why I think, at best, this is a minimally useful, shoddy product that relies on consumer desperation to justify its markup and at worst a well marketed scam.

Without the option to ship the item back for troubleshooting or repair, this makes the product look shoddy. Something so expensive, one would infer, would have a high value attached to it by the company manufacturing it. One year warranty or no, they charge a hefty fee for what they market as some truly groundbreaking, awesome technology. You're telling me, you don't even want to look at the thing and try to understand what might be a widespread malfunction? You're saying, it's not worth the shipping fee? $600, compared to, say, $40 shipping max? You have a team of engineers who will quickly ascertain that a new unit is needed, but it isn't worth it to open the hatch and fix...and instead rely on the old "well you need a new unit but you're SOL?"

Then there's the solution: spend another $600, or spend another $347. Who in their right minds would keep throwing money after bad - ESPECIALLY for the refurbished one!? And offering a refurbished iRestore just lends credence to the suspicion that iRestore COULD take in a malfunctioning helmet and repair it.

They're also banking, in my strongly held belief, on the "FDA clearance" tag. And it worked for me; I ignored the fact that "FDA clearance" in no way shape or form indicate efficacy, only safety, because I held out hope that the optimal scenario iRestore sells us would come true.

And again, if they'd come up with a solution for repair, or even had a convincing troubleshooting process, i might have bit on at least paying for shipping to get it looked at, if not replaced.
